My GGGGrandmother was Nancy Hand. These are her parents, the name went from Hand to Han, possibly due to an or illegible writing on the census. I received info from the MO state archives, land grant to Campbell and records of some marriages. Still searching for other connections.

I have just recently found a Julia Han in Iowa on the 1870 Census, this could have some connect, as I can connect the Family line to that area, in that time frame...I am continueing to research this family line....

P. Bobbit, interesting, as my Grandmother Margaret JANE Mullen, who is the daughter of Julia Han Mullen has Jane as a middle name..I am only sorry that I have no additional information on Julia and her parents. I am still surching...do you have any Mullen connections in your Hann?

Dennis, I don't know much, however, my GGrandmother was Julia Han m Charles Mullen and lived in or around Kansas City, MO in the late 1860's, Julia Han on my Grandmothers Certificate of Death say she was from Canada...

It would be nice if we could help each other on this search, who knows maybe something will turn up..

I'm looking for any information concerning the Han family that came to live in the SW Missouri area around 1860. Campbell C. Han lived near Fordland, Mo. after moving Virginia territory and a short stay in Knox Co., Tenn. Campbell C. and Abagail Han are my G-Grandparents. Any info would be appreciated.

Looking for information on Jesse Han Sommers, wife to Joseph A.M. Sommers. She was born 1886, died I believe in 1958, but not certain. I know she died before 1964. Buried at NY Bay View Cemetery.

I too am a Chinese "Han" and the character is the same as the characters for Korea. And yes there was a Chinese "Han" kingdom several thousand years ago which is different than the more widely known "Han" dynasty which came later on.

Well perhaps you'd know that about 2000 years ago, there were 7 small countries in China before unified by the Qing Dynasty. One of them is Han - my surname:) Modern Chinese call South Korea the Country of Han's - the same Han as my surname.

yes koreans are called 'han gook in'
and yes chinese are also called the 'hans'
but they are different if you look at the chinese
characters...(unfortunatly, i'm not sure if your computer
will recognize chinese :)
the korean han's did not originate from china,
it is pretty sure that the han's descend from the kings of the
ancient tribal kingdoms(?) of the penninsula, called
ma-han(thus the name 'han')
we are completely different from the chinese 'han's.
i'm korean-american(full name yuna christine han)
and the 34th descendent of the chung-ju moon-ik-kong
han's, so i think my information on my family history
is pretty accurate..

We Chinese call South Korean "Han Guo(country)", though
not sure whether Han people in Korean came from China or
vise versa.

MY guess would be that somewhere along the way an Oriental Han fellin love with A cauccasion Han, or prople are reffering to Han Solo. A huge Satrwars charchter played by Harrison Ford. I honestly think that's why poeplereffer han to Cauccasions.

First of all where do you caucasion people get your last name Han from. This name is Ancient Chinese, Korean, and other oreintal last name. Iam first born of family. Iam Korean and Matthew is my english name. My last name Han has been in my family for more than 7 generations on my fathers side. This is so dumb your not oriental but have last name Han. It should be something like Allen or Thomas. So wierd.

Another correction Elizabeth's mother was Salina Edmondson and not Nancy Unknown.

James F. and Elizabeth Han named their first son John Campbell Han, b.1846. Now on the 1840 census for Clark Co, IL, there appears a John C. Han c1781-90. Does anyone know anything about this family that appears on the 1840 Unk Twp, Clark Co, IL, census, page 83? Any help appreciated. Cheryl

Searching the Hans of Virginia. Have identified my earliest Han ancestor as being born about 1825 in VA. He married an Elizabeth Unknown (perhaps Campbell) in VA about 1844. Had son John Campbell Han b. 1846 in VA. Family was in Fayette Co, IL, by 1848 and have them on the 1850 census there. Anyone else researching this line? The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died Oct. 23 in Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device. The soldiers were assigned to the 569th Mobility Augmentation Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colo.

Henry Han

Hi I am trying to trace the Family of Henry Han. Unfortunately I have very,very limited information. All I know is this: Henry was/is Chinese he had a son and daughter. He had a brother called Eric who lived in liverpool and is buried in Anfield cemetry. Eric had a two sons one of which is called steven and a wife called joan. Henry lived in New York and I believe he and his family moved to conneticut.
