Hello, Skyline, hopefully you are still checking these posts, although it's been awhile. Your message re: Amelia Boss Hanna was one I had been searching. I have Flora Armstrong's father's genealogy through a census, but couldn't find anything on her husband. Her sister moved to Medford, Mass, and Flora moved to Dorchester, Mass with husband and children circa 1890's? Would you know more?

Obit o f Evalyn Hanna 1909

From the Chatsworth Plaindealer
Chatsworth,Livingston,Illinois

EVALYN MARIE HANNA
JANUARY 8, 1909

Evalyn Marie, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bloice Hanna, died on Monday (Jan.4)morning at eight o'clock at the home of her parents, one half mile north and two miles east of this city, after one week of hard suffering from cerebrum meningitis, being 11 months and 13 days old at the time of her death. Everything in the power of the little one's parents, relatives, doctor and nurses was done to save the dear life, but all in vain. It was the will of our Father that the little one was taken to a better world, where there is no more suffering.
Little Evalyn, as everyone knew her, was always bright and happy everywhere, and everyone loved her. The funeral was held at the home, where a large gathering attended. The flowers were beautiful.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Will Pearson, of Waukeee, Iiowa, and Mrs. E.W. Stanford, of Ravenna, Ohio.
John William Hanna of Moy, Co. Tyrone and Downpatrick, Co. Down

Hello,
I am trying to find out where the above J W Hanna came from originally and which Hanna family he belonged to. He died in Downpatrick in 1879. He was married to an Eliza Russell daughter of James Russell of Ballykinler House, Ballykinler, Co. Down. He had lived and worked in Downpatrick for at least 25 years (as a legal clerk for Wallace Solicitors for much of that time). I have evidence that shows he was living in Moy, Co. Tyrone before he came to live in Downpatrick. He may have been the J W Hanna who was working as a clerk for Moy Town Commissioners in 1845 (see Armagh Guardian newspaper extracts online). I have searched extensively for information as to his origins but without success to date. Any help will be very much appreciated. PS: I am hoping to write an article on his life as he was a very keen local historian or antiquarian.
Regards, William Stranney.

Book - Hanna Family of the Enoree River - 1969 Frank A Hanna

I have this book.. If anyone would like it for research.. It's pretty complete through 4 generations, with some minor inaccuracies that I have found. My Grandmother was MOST unpleased that her date of marriage to my grandfather was incorrectly listed as AFTER my father was born.

The book was published in 1969, so, it's over 40 years old, and i've done a ton of updates to bring it somewhat in line, but, i'm missing the 5th and 6th generations that would be around now. And, possibly some of the 7th. So, if you're on this tree.. I'll send the book electronically, but, i'd like any info you can give to update your branch.

The book basically starts with Robert and Mary Hanna (both d. in the late 1700's) but, really starts with his child, Robert Cunningham Hanna.

With this book, I found I am descended from the second child of Robert C Hanna, Geroge Hanna.. And, what got all this started, my dentist, is descended from the 4th child of Robert C Hanna, who was Robert C. Hanna, Jr.

My line descended..

Robert Cunningham Hanna->George Hanna->Robert Patillo Hanna->William Pinkney Hanna->John H. Hanna->Fred F Hanna

And that line is rather complete. It's the 8 other kids of Robert Cunningham Hanna that i'm trying to complete.

Moses and Fannie Hanna, relation to Joseph Hanna?

I have a photo album of the Hanna family, and I am trying to figure out how all of the labeled photographs, (labeled based on info from my great-grandfather) are related to me.

Currently I'm trying to find out more about Moses Hanna and his wife Fannie, whose last name was possibly Carson. After much frustrated searching during which I started to believe that the couple didn't exist and my great grandfather was mistaken, I found a record of them in "The Northeastern reporter, Volume 95" and "Reports of cases argued and determined in the Supreme Court of Ohio, Volume 84".

In these law books, there is some kind of dispute - from what I gather Fannie J. Hanna was declared insane on June 9, 1897 and she died in 1904. She was descended from a man with the last name of Fergus, and married Moses in 1869. Moses apparently bought property in 1872, but then changed the paperwork to put it in his name. The family of Fannie sued for the money gathered from that property they thought was their's ... or something like that.

Is anyone familiar with this family? I can't find them in the census records at all. Does anyone know when Moses was born? I have a picture of him and his wife, as previously stated. The picture was taken in Columbus, Ohio.

Ultimately, I'm trying to prove Moses Hanna's relation to a Joseph Hanna, born within 3 years of 1831. He lived in Washington PA. He married Mary Jane, last name possibly Montgomery, and had the children Francis Marion, Florella (or Flora Ella), Viola, William (sometimes called John) and Anna Mary.

Any help at all would be appreciated
