Who was the father of Joseph Columbus Hanna(h). Did the father have a brother James Samuel Hannah? The name "Columbus" appears several times in Hanna lines. My GGF was Christopher Columbus Hanna(h), son of James Samuel. He was born in 1837 in Iuka, Tishomingo County, MS. James Samuel was born in SC in 1809.

Linda I sent you the file. If you have any questions let me know. Peter Smith Hannah is my Great Grandfather son or JC Hannah. I hope this is helpful. What is your relationship to the Hannah's of Tennessee?

Derek

elhanna3724,

I can send you a file too, but I'm not sure of the link to the Hannah's of MS, but you never know. I do know it was common for children to be named after famous people like Christopher Columbus. My GG Grandfather may have been named for Columbus the town near to where he was born or perhaps a maiden name of a woman who married a Hannah. I'm not sure. I'm trying to find records on John Hannah b. 1750 in Botetourt VA and his wife Margaret.

I would certainly like to receive the file. My email address is elhanna3742@aol.com. I have found two other Christopher Columbus Hannas besides my ggf. Both in TN. At least some of my family likely came from SC to NC to TN to AL then to MS. My ggf served in the 11th AL Cavalry. Also I may have a connection to Joseph Hanna(h)in SC. Still trying to sort that one out. Thanks Ed
