My great grandparents are Robert and Sophie Hannah who lived in Ontario Canada and moved to Hannah area of North Dakota around 1885 give or take. Would any Hannah families have pictures of them that they would be willing to share with me? Thank you in advance. Verna.

Several Andrew Jackson HANNAH's

I haven't been on this board in quite a while and noticed that there were several Andrew Jackson HANNAH's, I had hoped that I would have some kind of luck and find the man after so many years of searching for him. All I have on AJH is that he was born 1815-1817 in Brown County, OH near the Ohio River..
He married Margaret DUNLAP (d/o Joseph DUNLAP & Mary McADAMS) in 1850's, she died sometimes around 1855. Their children were Joseph Mansfield HANNAH (m. Agnes WEAVER), *William Edwin HANNAH (m. Sarah Jane GAMBLE, both buried in Robinson Run Cemetery in PA), and Mary E. HANNAH (m. Dr. George BONE). These families lived around the Crafton, PA area.
Andrew later married Martha WEAVER (d/o John S. WEAVER) their children were: Henry, Andrew Gustave, James, Ida, Allie, Agnes, Rachael, George Weaver HANNAH, Blanche, Estella.
Andrew moved his second family to KS in 1870's, he was living in Ozark Township, KS in 1880..Not sure when he died.

Since he was over 35 when he married my GrGrGrandmother, Margaret DUNLAP, I assume that he may have been married another time before her. If anyone knows anything about this man, please email me.
I have posted on this alot, and would love to find a connection with this family.

My Grandfather was William Edwin HANNAH, II he was married to Bertha DAVIDSON, they had divorced and their children were Richard, Donald, and Edna. They lived in PA. W. "Edwin" HANNAH later married my Grandmother, Ruth WOOD-Biggers (widow) and their children were Helen Gertrude, Dorothea Mae, Shirley Ann, Francis Dean "Hank" (my Dad), Charles Elmer, and Marilyn. They lived in Fairfax County, VA.
Edwin's parent's were William & Sarah GAMBLE-HANNAH, both buried in Robinson Run Cemetery. She had one son, Frank, and they had "Edwin" and Marion.
Hannahs in Arkansas

My grandmother was Virginia Belle (Minnie) Hannah. Virginia was born 4-19-1870 in Caney, Nevada Co., AR. Married Benjamin Frankin Honea in early 1890s. Had 9 children. Settled in Prescott and Blevins (southwestern) AR, area. Honea/Honey lineage goes back to NC, SC, GA, AL , MS, and TX. They were Carolinas from about 1760. Movement westward from Carolinas started in 1830. Anyone out there with knowledge of a parellel movement by Hannahs? I would appreciate hearing from anyone with relevant information. Contact me at my personal e-mail address for initial messages. I don't want to miss a first contact

Philadelphia - Hanna or Hannah family

Looking for information on the Hanna or Hannah families from Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. My great grandfather was Andrew Hanna who married Jessie Godwin. The 1870 census shows Ed and Clara Hanna living in Darby, Pennsylvania, which is the town where my grandfather Robert Fulton Hanna lived. He was married to Catherine Scott. The 1880 census shown below shows a large extended family which includes a James and Annie Carr. Annie would have been the sister of Clarice or Clara Hanna(h). The 1880 census also lists a brother Samuel as well as a grandfather Alexander. The origin of the family is shown as Ireland but I believe the family originally came from Scotland.

Hi all,
I have a JOHN HANNAH bn c 1814 Whitehaven Cumberland (now called Cumbria)England. He was the son of James HANNAH, ropemaker, and Mary CURRAN. The family appeas to have had several children in Whitehaven including William, then moved to Lancashire where Robert bn 1828, Margaret, Maria, Marian and James were (possibly) born. John 'married' Ellen COSGROVE in Manchester, and their first daughter, Sarah Ann was born Manchester 1 Oct 1841. John ran into a 'bit of trouble' and was transported to Tasmania in Australia in 1844, as was Ellen (who went under the name of Ellen DEAN). Ellen and John had 4 more children (who srvived infancy) in Tasmania - Ellen, William, Mary Jane and Susan. The family left Tasmania in the mid 1850s for Victoria, where John was proprieter of the Manchester Arms Hotel in Long Gully (near Ballarat). Elen died aged 32 in 1855, and John remarried a widow, Ann BEDDOW in 1856. No children from the union.
Joh died in 1887 in Ballarat.

Wouldbe interested in hearing from anyone who has connections or knowledge of any of these persons

regards

Lesley Champion
Melbourne, Australia

Seeking information on Joseph Hanna(h), resident of Bourbon County, Kentucky as follows:
1820: North Middletown, Bourbon Co., Ky.
1830: Bourbon County - over age 60 and under 70
1840: Bourbon County - over age 70 and under age 80

I am wondering if this Joseph Hanna(h) is the same Joseph Hanna, born abt 1767, a son of Samuel Hanna & Mary Brady.
His age would be in the right range. Another son of Samuel Hanna & mary Brady, Rev. Samuel Hanna, married in Bourbon County, Kentucky in 1796.
Glad for input regarding this line.
All these are descended from Hugh Brady (born 1709) and his wife Hannah (McCormick) Brady. In 2009 there will be a world-wide descendant reunion honoring Hugh Brady's 300th Birthday.
The log home he and Hannah built in 1750 is still standing and has been restored. The 2009 reunion will be at the Homestead in Hopewell Township, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania.
Thank you,
Donna Cuillard

Believe my wife's family is descended from the Johnson County, KY Hannah family line. Looking for any information about John and Julia (Frazier) Hannah. They lived in Johnson County Kentucky during the late 1800's. It appears they both died young, possibly in their 20's. Found some info at Johnson County KyGenWeb. Would like to verify how many children they had before their deaths. 1880 census has them living in the E. S. Hannah household with one infant child, Frances. 1900 Johnson Co., KY census shows a Johnny Hannah (age 17) as an adopted son to John and Mary Horn. Was he a son to John and Julia? Any information would be appreciated and helpful in filling some of the gaps we have encountered.

Hi
I'm trying to trace a Daniel Hannah who was born in 1882 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. He is the brother of my grandfather and family rumour has it that he emigrated but no one knows where to. I have a photograph of him in an army uniform and on the back is written "Uncle Dan in Australia" so it looks like he served there but I don't know if he came back to England or what. I've attached the photo (I think!) if it helps. Does anyone have a Daniel Hannah born 1882 in their tree that originated from England?
Thanks
Debbie
England

I am trying to locate the parents and siblings of my GG Grandmother, Mary Hannah. She was born 1814 in Pennsylvania. She married my GG Grandfather, John B. Scott in 1838 Dearborn County, IN. Mary died sometime after 1880 Census in Daviess County, IN. In the 1880 Census, Mary was widowed living with daughter Harriett Scott-Edwards and her husband, John Edwards. Her parents were listed as being born in Delaware on the 1880 Census. I have been unable to locate Mary's parents. I have not been able to find her siblings, either. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for any help.

Debby

James W. Hannah, b.abt 1883, a bank president, lived in Caddo Co., OK

I have an original letter written in May 1924 by “J. W. Hannah, Bank President”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Letterhead is “The American national Bank, Apache, Oklahoma”, and is signed by him.

I found James W. Hannah, age 46, bank president, in the 1930 census for Apache (Caddo Co.) OK. Same in 1920 census, but he was then “J. W. Hannah”.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to James W. Hannah.

I know you said your family the Kidders were there. I wonder if they knew each other. He was born in 1891. His mother Mary Blanch Hannah was also born in Calais Maine. I think she was born in 1860. I am sending for her birth certificate tomorrow. Her Mother Mary Joy Blanch was also born in Maine. I am starting my search for her. This is so much fun!

I am trying to trace ancestors of James P. Hannah, 1826-1910. I have plenty of information on James's wife (Mary Manning) and 8 children, but virtually none about his parents or siblings. His Civil War records give his birthplace as Tennessee. Buried near him in Providence Cemetery in Gibson County, IN, is Joel Hannah (1811-1856), perhaps a brother. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Thomas Alexander Hannah-Sulphur Oklahoma, Never came home

Does anyone have any information on Thomas Alexander Hannah? He was my G-G-Grandfather. His dad was William Cullen Hannah and his son's were Fred "Doc" Hannah and Dick Hannah. In the 1910 census it shows he and his dad going by aliases in Sulfur Oklahoma. He was going by Alex F. Hannah and his dad was using his nickname "Dick" Hannah. His wife kids and a sister was also living there with them. The story goes that he was involved in a killing in Sevier County Arkansas and left. in 1920 his dad and the rest of the family returned but he was nowhere to be found. He was either killed by some type of hitman or found another woman and changed his name. I have all the other family info and have the entire murder story. Im just trying to tie up a lose end.

I am researching William Hanna(h) of Charles Co MD. He moved to Henry Co, VA, and later to Greenup Co, KY. He died 31 Mar 1846 in Greenup Co, KY. Wife was Mary. Children: Gabriel and Jefferson (reported on pension application). Robert, Townley and Barton are also believed to be sons of this family.

William's father, Alexander Hanna, weaver, died 3 June 1763 - 24 June 1765. Alexander's will mentioned a wife Elizabeth, children: John, David (had 2 dau. Elizabeth and Susanna), Mary who married ? Blair (had 2 children Elizabeth and William) Elizabeth, Alexander, William, Thomas, James, Jean. The last four were minors. Alexander (the son) who was mentioned in the will may have died in 1775.

I am especially curious whether the Charles Co Hanna(h) line is related to the Harford, Baltimore or Cecil Co lines.

I have some family history handed down verbally. It consist of two brothers who escape from Scotland in 1649 from Cromwell. They arrive ?? gain 200 acres near a river, settle for a time, evidently have children and grandchildren. 1775-6 sons fight in Revolution. They return home sell property and move to North Carolina. John and James (possibly a Thomas journey to Ohio) The father stays behind with a married daughter. I know what happened to the Ohio clan. I have pieces missing from the first 127 years. If you believe you come form this clan, please contact me.

I'm looking for ANY info on William Luther Hannah born abt April 1, 1855 in North or South Carolina. On his death certificate no parents are named, it just states "left alone as an infant" - does this mean abandoned ? or orphaned?. He may have had a brother in N. or S. Carolina who had an orchard. He is listed in the 1880 census in Rankin County, MS. & it is believed that he was raised by a doctor in Brandon, MS. He married Virnadia Adeline Rhodes in MS. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

REAL PATERNAL NAME OF HANNAH

Am seeking information on the REAL paternal name of a line of Hannahs.

There was an Elizabeth/Lecia Hannah born in Old Fort, TN in 1866 and died after 1930 in Georgia (possibly in the Whitfield or Murray County area of Georgia). She never married, but had a son Edwin. She gave Edwin her last name of HANNAH. I do not know who Edwin 'Hannah's' dad was. Edwin Hannah was born in Murray County, Georgia, on 23 June 1892 and died in January of 1976.

Edwin was married to a Carrie Elizabeth Charles who was born in Ellijay, Gilmore County, Georgia on 30 August 1900 and died in January of 1984. Edwin and Carried had a son, Charles Edwin Hannah who married Mary Ruth Thomas.

If you have any information on any of these people and would be willing to share it with my, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. We are in dire need of this information. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I am searching for descendants of Levi Nicholson, son of Leonard & Rosanna Burcham Nicholson in Greene County, IN. about 1840-1850, who may have knowledge of Levi's sister named Mary who married William Royal. They married December 20, 1822 in Greene County, IN. and moved to Illinois, living there for over 10 years, before emigrating to WRight Co. MO. Levi Nicholson's daughter was Sarah and she married Levi Hannah. Does anyone have these names in their index?

My ancestors are from William Royal, and I have come to a dead end looking for who his father was.
Ray Hannah- Adams County, Ohio

I have ran into a brick wall with Ray. Thus far I have located his father to be Earl and mother Grace from the 1930 Census Records of Wayne Twp, Adams Co, Ohio, however if I go back to the 1920 Census Records I come up with no Earl or Ray. It's almost like they didn't exist until 1930. Without being able to connect Earl to his parents I'm lost. Any advice from anyone out there? Ray was born in 1922 and he dies in 1990. These dates are confirmed in the death index records, however I can find no birth record for Earl other than the Census Records. My other half states that he does have kin in Virginia, which leads me to believe that perhaps Earl was born in VA not in OH as the census of 1930 states. Any help would be appreciated as I am doing this research for my boyfriend's family. Thanks!
