Hello, I have had some recent success researching family, unfortunately due to a death in the family. My Harbor/Harbour clan is from Reidsville/Stoneville (Rockingham County) NC. I was there about a month ago and met new Harbors, saw gravesites, etc. I'm very much interested in returning to look at archival materials in the county seat. I was able to take some photos that I've yet to download onto my computer. Do you know more about your family? My mother's father was Dudley Harbor/Harbour b. 1879.

1914 news online: GRISHAM & HARBOR in Knife Fight in Hillsboro, TX Square

Hi,

I just posted an old newspaper article reporting a knife fight in which W. M. GRISHAM and Will HARBOR (his former son-in-law) were both stabbed, GRISHAM seriously, in Hillsboro, Hill County, TX.
This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of the The Dallas Morning News newspaper (Dallas, TX) dated March 22, 1914, and you can see it online here:

http://theoldentimes.com/grishamharbor14hilltx.html

I hope it's helpful!

Barbara
http://theoldentimes.com
Patsy and Fanny HARBER / HARBOR in Halifax VA 1816

Hi Harbor Researchers,

Patsy Harber married Ellington Tally/Talley December 16, 1816 and Fanny Harber married Jesse Tally/Talley December 27, 1816 in Halifax County VA. I assume this is a case of brothers marrying sisters. Since I'm trying to stitch together a Tally famliy living in Halifax at that time it would be very helpful to know something about Patsy and Fanny---their parents, siblings etc.

Any help would be gratefully received and I will pass back anything I discover that might be interesting to Harbor descendants.

Colleen

Dora Belle WELCH HARBOR

I've just learned that an ancestor, Dora Belle WELCH HARBOR (also spelled HARBER and HARBOUR) died in Mower County, MN on October 10, 1959 and I'm trying to find the given name of
her husband, locate any living descendants, and find any other information about her family in Minnesota.
Dora was born in Putnam Co., WV on July 31, 1879, the d/o James N. WELCH and Nancy Jane HONAKER. She married, possibly in Lawrence Co., OH, and moved to Minnesota about 1900-1910. Although I don't know the given name of her husband, I do know that they had two sons, Earl HARBOR, b. abt. 1909, and Lane (Layne) HARBOR, b. abt 1911. At the time of her mother's death in 1921, Dora was living in Truman, Martin Co., MN. I have much information on Dora's family before her move to Minnesota and I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is related or who would be interested in exchanging information about her or her family.
