Ron K. Hardin MILLSAP - Ron K. Hardin, 71, an automotive mechanic, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at a Mineral Wells hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells.

Ron K. Hardin was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Fleetwood, N.C. Survivors: Wife, Doris Hardin; sons, Ross Hardin, Bobby Clary and Terry Clary; daughter, Dr. Dana Hardin Stasyck; brothers, Rex Hardin, Roland Hardin, Bud Hardin, Frank Hardin, Hugh Hardin and Guy Hardin; sister, Ella Mae Baird; grandchildren, Michael Hardin, Shara Hardin, Christopher and Patrick Stasyck, T.J. and Tanisha Clary and Brandon and Chase Clary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

I am in the same boat....John is my great-great grandfather. His daughter, Lee, is my great-grandma she lives in Thomasville. She said that she heard rumors that the flood may have been in TN but I can't find records of that either. I've been to the Ashe Co Library and register of deeds...I've also called the register of deeds in Watauga Co due to him being married there. Going to the history room at my library soon so I will post if I get anything else.

My Great Grandfather was Elbie Edwin Hardin. My family talks about "Uncle Carbrey" also. I haven't been able to get past Theodore either but I did find something interesting about a Theodore Commodore immigrating from Ireland with three or four siblings and only a mother named Eliza. Not sure if this is "our" family or not. Elbie worked on the Adams (or Adamson) farm and married the daughter of the farmer (Mary Jane). I also heard that one of the sister's husband gave their children away and they were never able to find the youngest two. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Marcus Hardin b. abt 1828 in "Tennessee"? and d. abt 1875 in ???, and Elizabeth Hill b.1834 in Tennessee had a daughter named Nancy Jane Hardin b. Jan 1854 in Carthage, Jasper Missouri and d. 1928 in Westville, Adair Oklahoma.

Nancy Jane married Lafayette Campbell. Their kids' names are Dora, Susie, Charley, Ida, and twins Mollie and Reda.

It looks as though Nancy may have been adopted by Anderson and Elizabeth Reed/Reid. I keep wondering if Marcus was in the civil war and never came back.

My information may be wrong and would sure appreciate some input on Marcus.

I believe you are correct is believing that Marion Hardin was a daughter of Adlai and Dixie (I have it spelled Marian).

I'd love to see your information on the Hardin/Jones line. A great aunt of mine is a daughter of Marion Evalina Hardin and Clyde Prichard. I believe Marion to be a daughter of Adlai and Dixie but still need more proof.

I believe that Robin has died as her collection of genealogical materials is now in the LDS library in Salt Lake. i know she did a lot on the boling family, but did not see anything on Hardins that I remember when I reviewed this collection.

Lawrence County would be my guess. It was the largest county in 1848 and several counties were later derived from Lawrence. Also, no other county had a greater concentration of Hardins.

The Old Shiloh Burying Ground now known as the Shiloh Presbyterian Church cemetery is located one mile southeast of Grover, NC and dates to the battle of Kings Mountain during the American Revolution. Shiloh is one of the oldest cemeteries in old Lincoln County, North Carolina and in old York County, South Carolina.

Family names represented at the Old Shiloh Burying Ground are: Christmas, Crow, Dillingham, Dover, Etters, Estress, Gordon, Hambright, Hardin, Harry, Holmes, Howser, McCarter, Morrow, Patterson, Price, Randall and Williams.

Shiloh is now under the wing of the Historic Shelby Foundation for tax-deductible contributions for the restoration (repair) of this very historic cemetery. There is great need for major maintenance of the cemetery and grave marker repairs for these ancestors.

Will you help with a contribution to save Shiloh out of respect for our family roots and for the cemetery as a whole?

I'm so happy you responded. You are, according to my calculations, a 2nd cousin, 1 time removed. Your Irving Edward Hardin's (1904) father was Charles J. Hardin (1878 to 1935). Charles also had a daughter, Evelyn Mae Hardin (1883 to 190l). Irving was a 1st cousin lx removed.

Charles J. Hardin married Mary Elizabeth Schindler (my great aunt) in Rock Island, IL in 190l and I have been trying to trace the Schindler's as Remig Schindler is my ggrandfather.

Hello,

My name is Angela Thomas - maiden name of Hardin. My father was Edward Owen Hardin (Irving Hardin's son).

My dad was born on Sept. 8 1925 (not 1927) in LaCrosse Wisconsin. I never met Irving, I think he died shortly before I was born (I'm 47 now). Irving was married to Edna Olson, but they divorced when my dad was very young I think. But I do remember visiting an Aunt Evelyn in Illinois.

I have an older half brother and sister on my dad's side (Edward Daniel Hardin and Theresa Marie Hardin) Theresa is now married - her last name is Medina. My mom and Dad were married in January of 1964 - Mom's name was Lois Gertrude Miller and she was born in 1925 as well. I was their first born - I have a younger brother - Joseph Roy Hardin born in 1965.

Unfortunately, dad died in 1976 of a cerebral hemmorage. He was a Type I diabetic. My mom died in 1991 of heart attack.

I've always been interested in my ancestry - and know a lot more about my mom's side than dads. And info you want to share would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good day.
