My name is Herschel Reeves, my wife, Jeanine Hargraves is descended from George Washington Hargraves. We would love to have a photocopy of the publication you are talking about. It seems that all of her ancestors made the journey through Louisiana on their way to Texas. Her Grandmother, Catherine Bonharme, "Catiche", married William Hargraves at Attakapas Post in St. Martins Parish, LA. Catiche was an orphan, raised at the Ursuline Convent in New Orleans.

I will email you my address. If there is any charge, please let me know.

Thank you,

Herschel Reeves

My grandfather's name was Robert Jefferson Hargrave. I really don't know much about him or his family. He had passed before I was born (1958). I think I have heard about a Jack and Ethel though. I know he had a nephew named Jack Seifert but I believe there was someone else with that name further back too.
Let me know if any of these names sound familiar.
Thanks,
Cindy

Great to hear that Blanche is doing well. I did attend the memorial service for Austen in Dallas. I just loved him - he was a real gentleman. I went to work with him when I was 19 years old, and it was great to work with him. He treated me more like a granddaughter than an employee. I will always have kind thoughts of him.

Thank you every much for posting my grandmother's obituary. I had hoped it would give me some additional information about her father and mother, but I'll have to keep looking for that elsewhere.

Austen was my uncle, and as a child I spent some very happy days with him and his family. I still keep in touch with his son Mack. He tells me that Blanche is still going strong.

Hope it's useful. Again, Austen was my friend - a great gentleman - and Ms. Blanche was a lovely woman. He was working with me at Lone Star Gas when his daughter Fanci and her family had the awful car wreck, and only little Jennifer survived. It was quite an accomplishment for folks their age to take on a small child, but she was the light of both of their lives!

Terry, I will try to send that tomorrow. I will need to scan the picture first. It is not the best picture, but it is all that I have. I can give you some hints on maybe successfully getting pictures of George Hargrave. I have had success on recieving pictures from Dallas and Quebec. All I did was find emails of people that were looking for the same info I was looking for and emailed them. I was so excited to get the one from Quebec of my great great grand father on my mother's side. Just keep searching. Just like us, I have a picture for you. I went today at my local library and found the obituary of my grandfather Louis Jr. and his brother. The info is out there and sometimes it is fun to find it, but can be very confusing. I will email you tomorrow. If you don't hear from me, then send me an email. Ok Judy

My dad will get a kick out of seeing it too, though he is hoping I find someone with a picture of his grandfather George Hargrave & grandmother Azelie Suire (Aspasie's daughter). I haven't had any luck with that yet. I will look up that 1880 Census. I'm thinking that Aspasie and her daughters are living with her parents and they are mistakinly listed as her sisters. I will check the ages, that should clear things up, hopefully. Looks like Louis Schexnayder first or middle name is Jean. I have been searching for info on him by the name Louis, I guess I should try using the name Jean and see what I come up with. Chat with you soon. Terry

Terry,
I was having so much trouble trying to reply to your message this time. I think it is because my husband and I share the same email and the passwords got mixed up. I will try to scan the picture tomorrow and I marked the website on my computer of the pedigree chart for Aspasie.I was searching one day and came across it. I have not had much success on the Schexnayder side because there were so many different spellings of the name. Send me your email so I can send the picture to you. My email is jwroosa@juno.com
Do you know if Aspasie had any sisters. I found from the pedigree chart that her parents were Joachim Touchet and Josephine Hargrove. But I found online on census of 1880 in Vermillion parish that Jean Schexneider and wife Josephine Hargrove, and it list stepdaughters,Marie, Aspasie, and Eulalie--all Touchets. I don't know where Jean fits in. I saw this somewhere else with him and her as a widow. You said Eulalie was her daughter, but records show her as a sister. Confusion. That is easy to do don't you think? Well, email me at jwroosa@juno.com and we will chat some more and I will send you the info and pic.
