"Marisco" mother has been to my home in Ohio. Such a wonderful lady. She is a descendant of Jules Bertrum Finnell, brother to Kathleen. I encourgaged her to contact you and inquire as to whether you are still keeping the album 7 years later. I have worked the family genalogy extensively - she has all of it now - and truely believe she is the only living descendant. I know her and can cantact her if you would like to let ME know whether you have kept the album. There is indeed someone who would love to have it.

Hi -

I'm researching my husbands history and it seems that he is part of this family too. Here's what I seem to have so far:

George Moritz Hartman (1744 - 1810) is the father of:
Daniel Hartman, who is father of:
Marguerette Hartman, who is wife of:
Daniel Middleton (1842 - 1920) Father of:
Garniel Middleton (1894 - 1967)
Father of:
Louise Middleton (1931 - 2011)
Mother of:
Cheryl Wagner (1951 - 2009)
Mother of:
Bradford Allen Dielman (1971 - )
Brad is my husband

There's no one to ask. Everyone on that side is either dead or just not speaking to each other.

I am looking for Henry Hartman's family. He was born about1754 probably in Germany. He was living in Hampshire County WV at the time of his death. He may have been from Frederick County Maryland before going to Hampshire county. Is there a list of his children?
Thank you.
Ann Bland Hartman
How many pages does the booklet have?
Is it possible to get a copy?
I also have Hartman family in Baltimore! My great-great-grandfather was Frederick Hartman. he was born in Waldeck, Germany, immigrated around 1850. Then married Frederica Hammel. He was a shoemaker. They had 11 children, but only 4 lived into adulthood - Adam, Eva Birrane, Mary Wagner, and Frederick. This was also a Catholic family. They went to Holy Family church, and I've found a ton of info from the MD state archives website!

I was thrilled to read that Patricia, my father's sister, is still alive and living in Los Angeles, as I had found only childhood and youth references for her, and she would be the last living link to my father. It's such short notice, but I hope to get linked up with "klc2304".... Jane Andrews jcavenice@aolcom

George W. Hartman, Freeport, Illinois

From the Freeport Journal, Wednesday, March 12, 1879, np, col. 3.

Death of George W. Hartman.

This young man passed away from this life on Saturday morning, March 8th, between 6 and 7 o'clock, at the residence of his father, Mr. Jacob Hartman, in this city. His age was twenty-three years and three months. He had been suffering with disease of the throat and lungs for some two years past. Hoping to find benefit in a change of climate, he went to Colorado Springs last summer, and remained there until the first of February last. The winter in that climate having proved this year less favorable than usual, it was thought better that he return home. Accordingly Mr. Walter Sanderson, his brother-in-law, went out to Colorado and accompanied him home. His friends at home found a mournful pleasure in his return, and in the tender and loving ministry to his wants which they gladly rendered. But all the solicitude and care of friends, and all that medical skill could do for him, were powerless to arrest the progress of disease. It soon became evident to his physician and anxious friends that there was little hope of his recovery. Yet he clung to life with a firm and cheerful hope that did not yield until a day or two before his death.

Mr. Hartman was a young man of pure and worthy character, and was highly esteemed and much beloved by all his acquaintance. Life held out before him a very bright promise of success and usefulness. His early death has left a deep, dark cloud of sorrow upon the home and the large circle of friends from which the light of his presence has been removed. But even this cloud has its silver lining. Those who mourn for George W. Hartman do not sorrow as those without hope. He fell asleep in Jesus, in hope
of immortal life.

The funeral service was held at the family residence on Monday, March 10th, at 10 a. m. The day was bright and balmy, a beautiful type of the home of endless sunshine, where rest "the dead who die in the Lord." The attendance was very large. The Good Templars, of which order the deceased was a member, marched in the procession and used their impressive ritual at the grave. The services at the house were conducted by Rev. Dr. Jewett, of the First Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. H. D. Jenkins, of the First Presbyterian Church.

*****************
I am not researching this individual or family and have no additional information.

Dana, how considerate of you to try to return photo albums you found to family. I can tell you a little of the 3 daughters born to William Frederick Schumacher and Maribell Hartman. Oldest was Maribell (b.. 1896) who married Jules B. Finnell and had 3 children, second (b. 1903) was Kathleen who was married to (first name not known) Cunningham prior to 1935. I do not know what happend to her/them or if they had children, youngest was Virginia Elizabeth Hartman (born 1906)- I did find she sometimes used her stepfather's surname of Hughston. It is probably her photo's you found. You just gave me her marriage date to Harry McCoy Jones. Do not know what happen with this couple - H. McCoy Jones remarried to Carolyn/Caroline who is possible still living in Reno. NV, they had no children. Maribell had 3 Finnell children - oldest son had a child before he was killed WWII, second son Michael who died last year had 3 children, Youngest, a daughter Patricia divorced from husband Donald Kulha, no children, still living in Los Angeles, CA. I am working on Finnell/
Schumacher for a friend. If you have not found family let me know - I have ideas where Maribell Finnell's children are living but just wonder if they would be interested. Would you be willing to tell me the city and state where these album's were foune by you?? Possibly where Virginia died - I cannot idetify her on SS death index - perhaps because she also remarried as Jones did. I value old pictures myself, have a lot of family ones to "pass on" - glad to help if you think I can.

It seems every offspring named one of their Children Michael and then their offspring named a child Michael and so on, so it makes for alot of Michael Hartmans and I want to be sure I don;t miss one. I have gotten so used to computers and the searchability. but this is fun too and will make me remember more....I will let you know what I find either way.

Ann,
There are 6 pictures of various sizes with Hartman identification on the back. The names are: Aunt Omie, Bud Hartman, Nett Hartman, Stella Hartman Gibson, Grandmother Hartman, Lille Hartman, Great-grandmother Hartman 99 years old. Do you recognize any of the names? The photography companies are in Frederick and Baltimore. Do you think these are pictures you might want? If you are interested I will put them in a brown envelope with bubble wrap and check price at post office. I do not want any money for the pictures; I'm just happy they will find a "good' home.
Do you know if you have a Bost family line? I would think since the pictures were together in one box there is a connection between the two surnames.

Martha Dean

I have received a typed booklett on The Hartman Family composed by W.L.Hartman Geigers Mills, PA..started in 1906. It is the family history of the John(Johann)Hartman family, which came from Germany to America in 1751 and settled in Berks, Reading, and Schulykill PA. I believe it was copied and given to family members including the Turrentines, Lemons, Simpsons in the 50's and sixties. Includes transcripts of letters written between family members in the mid 1800's. It is by no means a complete history but has sections on many branches of the family andd information that I have found no where else. Let Me know if you are searching for any Hartmans or decendants and I can see if they are listed there

My father's name was Joseph Hartman, he had two cousins Lester and Rollin who lived in Wapella. We visited them when I was little. If anyone out there has the same history please e-mail me at rh85022@gmail.com.

Hartman Family Photos available

Hi, I purchased some Hartman family photos at a local antique store (Salem, OR). I am not related, if you are and would like the originals, just let me know!

Photos attached below are of

1) Joseph Allen Hartman, his wife Lizzie and their children Clayton Harris and Joseph Allen "Allen" Hartman.

2) Joseph's brother William Henry Hartman. Joseph and William were the sons of Henry H Hartman and Sarah Jane Garber. The family was from Indiana/Illinois. It looks like Joseph went to Kansas and William went to Missouri.

3). William's wife Blanch (Lewis) Hartman.
