Believe Hossard may be varient spelling of Hassard. Ancestor Jane Wallace Hassard was born in Borim in 1839. Appears to be a large family, originally located in County Fermanagh.

Ballyconnell is in Co. Cavan in the parish of Tomregan, diocese of Kilmore. The name Hossard may originally have been Hassard a common name in the area. Baptism records start in 1797. Contact with the church Rev. R.S. Keogh or the Cavan Genealogy research Centre, Cana House, Cavan may help

That has been my problem. The only names I have for my grandfathers parents are what was on his marriage certificate. However, I do not believe he told the truth.
And I have never been able to find a Alexander and a Charoltte. And the only time I have been able to find a Frank T. or a Franklin T Hassard was int he census I told you about. Since most Irish families named their children after parents or other relatives, I finally did find a William. However I also know that does not make it true. This family has given me more headaches than any other family. No one knows the names of Franks parents.
I really appreciate your help Thank you
Madonna

Madonna

There is a lot of information there! The breakthrough you need is to find out what Frank's parents were called. If you can find that out and the date they emigrated or a ships list then you could probably work from there.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=46657417379

try that link there. you will have to request to become a member but that will be no problem! post all the info u have put up here. who knows someone may have a bit of info to help u!

Everything from 1900 to 2009 I am sure of. (as far as the info I collected and know of first hand)
My grandfather never had the same age or year of birth. However, I always found it to be in April. His death certificate says born born April 1874 new YOrk, death Oct 27, 1949, East St Louis Illinois. I am sure of his death but I have been told by my mother that both Frank and his wife Julia lied about their birth date for 2 reasons, 1---did not trust government and 2 -- for insurance purposes.
So I will tell you a little bit about my hassards.
Franklin T Hassard married Julia Coffey (in Illinois) Sept 5, 1900. Their children were. William Jeremiah (myfather, and the name Jeremiah was her fathers name. Never did find where William came from. the other sons were Harold, died young, and never found that name either. Other sons were Francis D. , Daniel F. and John S Hassard. Do not kow what the S stood far. .
I found 1880
Cincinnati , Hamilton Ohio census
William 36 born Ohio parents born Kentucky
ellen wife 35 born Baden Ger. and parents the same
Ben son 14 born Ohio, father kentucky mother Baden
Frank 13 son born Indiana, father kentucky mother Baden

1900 St Louis Mo.
Francis T Hassard 37 born (1863) Born Indiana and parents Ireland . He was a boarder. This is where his wifes fanmily lived after they came from Ireland

1910 Illinois
Frank T Hassard 38 (1875) born Illinois parents Ireland

1920 Illinois
Frank Hassard 50 born New York parents United States

1930 Illinois
Frank 64 born New York parentgs Ireland
states he was 34 when married. (That I know is worng)The martriage certificate states 1900.
Does any of this help?

Also i tried the facebook and an not sure how to get on it. I put in hassard face book and came up with several things but did not know which to go to. need help on that one
Thank you
Madonna
Madonna

Hi Madonna!

In response to your recent post

The names William and son Frank ring a bell. I believe I had relations of this name that came from county down and emigrated to America. There was a branch of the family, my Great Great grandfathers brothers that moved to the states. The names William and Matthew were mentioned, but I am not that sure of this, I would need to mention it to more closely related relatives of these men and see what comes up.

My great great grandfather Robert also had a very large family some of whom went to the states also. This side of the family is the one I know most about. I remember talking to someone before that had a relation called Alexander Hassard/Hazard that lived around the Downpatrick area, Ireland and who then I think went on to England. But I would have to look into this.

Time for me is a big issue so if you can, try www.genesreunited.com its free to join and you might unearth something there. Also join my Hassard group on facebook. We have over 300 Hassards worldwide and growing! someone might be able to help you there also.

Good luck!

Dear Madonna~~~
HAPPY NEW YEAR to You & Yours. THANK YOU for dispatching Your inquiry to Me; however, at present, I do not have any information for You which would connect MY HASSARD Family.
Although I have NO information regarding My Great-Great Grandfather's origin...His Family (with Jane CORBETT) lived in DUBLIN from 1860's to 1911'.

May I suggest visiting FACEBOOK where there is a HASSARD Group assembling worldwide. Perhaps this May bring You closer to revealing the answers You require.

Blessings to You, dear Lady. May You & ALL HASSARDS enJOY a glorious NEW YEAR filled with new information & revelations regarding this diverse, ecclectic Family.

Whispering...with Encouragement
DonnaChristine Park
USA/AZ

My grandfather is Franklin theodore hassard. I have been told he was born in New York and his family came from England I do not know if this is correct. My father is William Jeremiah Hassard. I know where the Jeremiah came from but have never been able to find a William . I believe my grandfathers father was a William, but no evidence. The name my grandfather used as his father on his marriage certificate was Alexander. I do not believe this is correct. My grandfather never trusted the government and so was never consistent on his information. My grandfather was in the Missouri census in 1900 and in Ill. thereafter. I did find a William with a son Frank t in Indiana and in that census it said William was born in Ohio and frank Indiana. So as you can see, I have been given a lot of info and I don't know what is what. If any of this sounds like it could be anything you could shed some light on please contact me.
My grandfather said on the census records that his parents were form ireland, England and Unite kingdon, and unknown.
Thank you
Madonna

Hi Douglas!

Great to hear from you!

Where do I start!?

There is so much history attached to our family its unbelieveable!

I take it you dont know much history further back than your grandfather Marcus?

I can tell you that your great grandfather was also called Marcus Hassard, He was born roughly around 1860-61 (will have to check my notes) and was one of 16 children born to Robert Hassard and Martha Ann Kirkpatrick at Aughlisnafin, near Castlewellan County Down. Marcus and my great grandfather Isaac were brothers.

I have been in touch with Hugh Hassard in Australia. We have exchanged a lot of info but he never gave me as much detailed information on his siblings and their families as you have given me! This is very exciting for me. From the 16 children born at Aughlisnafin we have relations all around the world. There is a strong American connection in the Ohio region of the states. It would take me all day and night listing all the info and relations we have but if you could email me on nigel_hassard@hotmail.co.uk it would be great. either that or seach for me on facebook under nigel hassard. I have a Hassard genelogical group set up there with roughly around 250 members worldwide

Thanks for taking the time msg me

look forward to speaking to you again

Nigel Hassard

GOOD EVENING & HAPPY Genealogy-day to You.

As My reSEARCH continues, I share the following inquiry regarding MICHAEL HASSARD born 1870 in Dublin, Ireland to CHARLES HASSARD & Jane Corbett HASSARD.

During this reSEARCH, I have found a possible notation which shows His emigrating to USA/Boston in 1894. However, I have also 'heard' that there may have been a marriage to a Ms WALKER. Both unconfirmed.

Personally, I have NO further information regarding MICHAEL & His Family.

Your consideration of this request, will be greatly appreciated.
FRANCIS CHARLES HASSARD

Now, one year into this incredible adventure called: GENEALOGY I find Myself baffled by several individuals whom have escaped Me, to date.

FRANCIS CHARLES HASSARD son of CHARLES HASSARD & Jane CORBETT-HASSARD in early 1870 in Dublin, Ireland. There is one notation in the 1901 UK Census in Manchester, Lancashire, England. Married to GERTRUDE FRANCES WALSH.

Following this document, I have been able to find nothing. However, in one Family correspondence there is a reference to "Uncle Frank" & I believe this to be FRANCIS HASSARD.

The GOOD NEWS is that I have recently been contacted by a dear Lady having both FRANCIS CHARLES & GERTRUDE FRANCIS WALSH-HASSARD on Her FAMILY Tree. However, Her information subsides at the same 1901UK Census.

Your insight & input will be greatly appreciated as I attempt to determine their location after 1901. Did they emigrate to US? Did they have children, etc.

THANK YOU for ANY/All information which You may 'choose' to share.

Whispering...GrateFULLY
DonnaChristine Park

GGrandmother was woman that we know as Sidney as told. father was Robert/Martha Hassard or Hazzard (two documents with different spelling (birth certificate)/(Marraige Certificate) born county of Cavan, parrish I believe Templedorf, Siney borne in july 1860 came to America 1886 withGGf to New York and died in 1931 Rochester New York. Her Father Robert was farmer and mentions (Brackley) if this might help. Seems like such a coincidence. Please except my apologies.

regards Mike Henderson Dallas Texas

My family tree has no mention of a sidney i am afraid. The hassard family tree goes back far further than 1860 in this area. Are you sure it is Co Cavan and not Co Down? Margaret was born in Dec so it looks like a dead end
