I have a book "Loyalists All" published in 1985 by the New Brunswick Branch of the United Empire Loyalists Association. It has the following information. Calvin Luther Hatheway (b.1786 d. 1866) married Sarah Harrison (b. 1789 d. 1854) inn 1809. Calvin was the son of Ebenezer Hatheway and Mary (last name unknown). They came to Saint John, New Brunswick from Massachusetts in June 1783 aboard the ship "Simmetry". They came with 3 children and one servant. Ebenezer was born in 1748 and died March 3, 1811 at age 64. He was survived by his wife and seven sons, one of whom was Calvin and I believe another son was my ancestor. If you have any more information I would appreciate it.

I am a descendant of Martha Caroline Hatheway. She was born June 10, 1844 and married Frederick Alward King on February 14, 1872. He died May 1, 1918 but I don't have her date of death. I too have more information on her family and descendants and am interested in information about her ancestors.
Looking forward to connecting!
- Sherry

SORRY I MEANT TO ADD THAT IT WAS CATHERINE JANE NEE GRAHAM GAMBLE THAT CAME TO AUSTRALIA WITH THE 2 BOYS WILLIAM GRAHAM GAMBLE AND ELDER BROTHER JOHN NATHANIEL GAMBLE AGED 13. THEY ARRIVED PORT PHILLIP on the Mirzapore in Oct of 1852. The microfiche records show GAMBELL but it is believed by the Victorian Archives that the original handwriting was mis-transcribed.

THE 1865 JOHN GAMBLE ARRIVAL ON THE KENT IS NOT FROM THIS LINE OF THE FAMILY ALTHOUGH HE WAS MOST SURELY RELATED-
A Jack Gamble formerly from STRABANE, which remains a Gamble stronghold, ran the Emerald Isle Antiquarian Bookshop in Belfast. He was visited by Aveline Gamble in a research trip to Ireland a few years ago. He mentioned to her that his father told him that he had 2 uncles that had moved to Australia but he knew nothing of what happened to them

Simeon's family can be seen on the Hathaway Family Association website at:
www.hathawayfamilyassociation.org under the Nicholas Hathway lineage. He is a fifth generation descendant of Nicholas and was b. 25 Jun 1719 to Shadrack HATHAWAY and Deborah KENT in Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.

In May of 1999, I posted a message asking about Queenie Hathaway, my dad's birth mother. Later that year, in September, I received the most wonderful e-mail message from a lady in New Brunswick.
She gave me not only Queenie's birthdate and place, but gave me info on her 8 siblings--2 sisters and 6 brothers. And, her parents' names, as well as her paternal grandparents, as well as her dad's paternal grandparents.
I am forever grateful to Shirlie Poole! Alas, I have managed to lose touch with her. I've tried several times over the last couple years to send an e-mail to her, but the message keeps bouncing back to me.
Does anyone know of Shirlie, and have her current e-mail address? If so, would you please ask her to contact me at nonamarie@earthlink.net? I would love to hear from her. Nona

Sorry I haven't contacted you sooner-somehow I never looked at the Hatheway section--only Hathaway. I have Delbert James born in Stanberry, MO and when this info was submitted for the 1970 Hathaway book it is said he was in Fort Bliss, Texas. He married in Schwienfurt, Germany 12 July 1955 Maria Babetta Dietz. His father's name is given as Tolbert Bishop Hathaway who married Helen Bightey who is now Mrs. McPeek, res. Stanberry, MO. If you think these people are who you are looking for--I have more info. There is a list of Delbert's 9 children of which one is named Tolbert Theodor born in Germany and a son Delbert James b. Oct. 1958.

Queenie Hatheway(that's the only name I have for her),
born sometime in the early 1890's, possibly somewhere
in the state of Maine USA. She gave birth to my father
29 Sept 1911 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine, and gave
him up for adoption, which was finalized 31 July 1913.
I do not know with whom he lived during those 22 months
between birth and adoption being final. His name, at birth,
was Donald Kenneth Hatheway, and his name was changed to
Russell Kenneth Fortune. I would like to know more about
Queenie--her birth date/place, her parents and any siblings.
I know that it's not required for me to know all these details
about her, but I just want to know about the person who gave
birth to Daddy, and made such a hard sacrifice on his behalf,
whatever her reasons for not being able to keep him and raise him
herself. If anyone knows about her, please contact me via e-mail
or snail mail: Nona Lightner, 18630 108th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98055
USA. Thanks!1
