Although this message comes 11 years after your posting, hopefully there is still an interest in connecting with the "California Hauschilds." My father was Arthur J. Hauschild, Jr. He spoke of Otto Hauschild and his girls from his days as a child in Los Angeles. Our family lived in Los Angeles in our early years, but spent recent decades in the San Francisco Bay Area. My sister, Perii Hauschild Owen, now lives in Ashland, OR, and I split time between Ashland and San Francisco. She has two sons and I have one. Our father passed away last year at 95. We'd love to learn more about your family and the tons of pictures that you mentioned.

I'm looking for an Alfred Hauschild who married Wilhelmina Anderson (my grandmother) in 1905 and had a daughter (my mother) together in December 1906. Not sure how long the marriage lasted. I think he remarried and lived in Ohio. He was born in Hamburg,Germany in about 1884. Came to the U.S. in 1902. His father's name is Karl and his mother's name is Augusta Thorman. I'm hoping he is part of your family so you can tell me something about him. Please let me know.
dmi1000@verizon.net.
Thank you, Diane

I am not sure this is any help. I am also searching for "Hauschild". I have been told that "Professor Hauschild was an artist who painted ceiling murals for King Ludwig at the castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. A friend at a museum in Munich, Germany reported that "Professor" was Polish but couldn't give any more details. If you find more information, would you please share with me? I would appreciate.
Carol

"Professor Hauschild" was one of the ceiling mural artist/painters who worked on the castle Neuschwanstein, Bavaria. Is there anyone who might know a little bit about him? My father, who was also a painter, was born in Triebes, Germany in 1905(?) and I am searching for any relatives who can fill in the space between King Ludwig's time of about 1876 and 1910-1920.

Yes, it looks like it could be. My Peter Hauschild died in Ellis - he was my great-grandfather on my father's mother's side. His children were: Katherine, Anna, Johanna, Henry, Ludwig and Julia. I'm not aware of any other children. His wife was Maria Bosche. Johanna, my grandmother, lived in Edmond, OK with her youngest son, Stanley, several years before she died.

Do you know what relation Joachim is to Peter? Were they brothers? I would appreciate any more information if you have it.

Would you like me to phone you and we could talk more easily?

Thanks - Judy Wahl Talley

I am looking for any information of a Lucy Helson that married someone with a last name of Hauschild and was living in Miami in 1954. The only information that I have is that she was still alive in 1954 and was mentioned in her brother Harry’s OBIT.

Lucy would have been born in Cincinnati in the 1870s or 1880s to John Henry Helson and Lucy Ogden Helson. She would have been their SECOND daughter named Lucy Helson, which I understand was not unusual during that time period, since their first daughter named Lucy Helson lived less than 1 year and died in 1874.
I'm sorry I have no information about his parents. The Westmoreland passenger list shows he came from Baden, Germany. In case you are also researching his children, I should update some information from my earlier message. Sam Dorer's place of birth was Illinois and his wife's name was Abbie McClendon. Albert Dorer's wife's name was Luetishie Chapman. Do you know anything more about the third son, Louis Dorer?

My paternal grandmother (Rosemary Dekin Hauschild Lamey, upstate New York) was married early on and for some reason or another, the marriage ended. All that we know is that his last name was "Hauschild". My father (age 63--or so we think), was raised by the man that she remarried (Lamey). The prior marriage was kept a secret until my dad, as a young adult, discovered her other name on an old driver's license, by accident. We believe that when she remarried (Lamey) in 1944 that she was either expecting my dad, or my dad was an infant, possibly making him older than the birthdate that he was "given". He has no real birth certificate and there is no record of his birth in Mobile AL on or around the date that we were given (Dec 6, 1945). There are numerous other details too much to type. My mom and I have been searching for years with almost nothing to go on, since we do not know Hauschild's first name. My grandmother died several years back. My "grandfather" that I was raised with will never give up any information. Unless someone comes forward that knows something about "Rosemary", then we'll never know. I would love to find my dad's father before he dies. He has been very sick most of my life, so this would be such a blessing to find his family. If you know anything or have any information, please pass it on. She was from upstate NY (Watertown). My brother and I have very strong German features and look nothing like the other "grandchildren". We would love to find the family that we resemble.

I've been tracing my family tree for a couple of years now and have come to a dead end. My great Grandfather Reinhld Hauschild came to the US in 1891. Born in Leipzig Germany december 27, 1861. I'm searching for any of his family members. Father Johan G born January 15, 1813, and mother Wilhelmina born October 15, 1824. I know he had at least three brothers possibly Gottieb, Julius, and Rudolf, and one sister-name unknown. Two brothers came to the US with him but lost contact. One last known to be in New York (Julius) and one in Chicago (Gottieb). Would greatly appreciate any information. Reinhold has 115 decendants.

I say this because it appears my great grandparents named their children after their family members (Dora, Anna, Louise, John, Fred, Karl, Ernest, Herman, and Martha) Could you email me any more information that you may have? I would really appreciate it! RHausc6104@aol.com

His wife is Ann, born in England, but he was born in Germany so most likely the name is Hauschild. Please contact me if you have any further information.
I will get with my Dad and see what he remembers about Minnie's mom, dad, brothers and sisters. I do not have any of that information. All Minnie's children have past away. We are just now putting information about there lives. My grandfather Marvin and Dick owned the Overhead door company in Terre Haute, IN. Bill was a professor at Indiana State. All her grandchildren, gggrandchildren and ggggchildren are still alive. You are welcome to contact me. giffel@insightbb.com

Howdy David:
Many, many thanks for the reply and the referenced family genealogy. I have forwarded both to Joachim Jacobsen in Hamburg, who is a Hauschildt descendant and also a distant cousin of mine. He may be in contact with you.
Might you just happen to have any information about Minnie V Hauschild/Giffel's siblings?
Again, thanks
Johnny B
