I have Samuel Rundle Hawke in my family tree, he is my 2nd great grandfather. His grandson still lives in Liskeard, my father in Virginia speaks to him every Christmas. I believe Samuel Rundle Hawke's father was Thomas Henry Hawke and mother was Mary Jane Surname-Unknown. At age 10, Samuel worked to tin floors; he died at age 38. If anyone needs to know anything, please contact me.

I only got as far as Knockmahon with Nathaniel. His sister, Mary, was my great-great gtrandmother, and information I found from family records says that she came from Limerick. He also had a sister Ellen. Their mother appears to have been Ellen McCarthy, and their father, George. Thank you for any information. James Feighery

Our Hawke line goes back to Francis Hawke (born 1749) and married in 1772 in St Mewan in Cornwall.

Hi all, I have a Charlotte Bridge/Budge, arriving in New Zealand in abt 1839, she married John Walmsley in 1840.

She is the daughter of William HAWKE and Elizabeth GRUET born approx 1812 in England (this info from her death cert)

I am not sure where the Bridge/Budge comes from, maybe a marriage?

Hi Thomas Dicken's Wakem was married to Elizabeth Gay and their children were:
Mary b1832 - 1915 married Wadge?
Martha 1834 - 1834
Elizabeth 1835 married West?
Martha 1838 married Brown
Susanna 1840 - 1872 married Brown
Thomas Dickens 1843 - 1916 married Wadge
John 1844 - 1881
William Gay 1847 - 1925 married Prideaux
Jane Ann 1850 - 1938 married Hawke

Thomas Dickens also had a brother John Robert b1800 both were born in St Mary, Rotherhithe, London but their father John was from Cornwall.

My father was Ken Hawke and he had a brother Claude. Their father was George Hawke who I think had a brother Claude also. Goerge's father was Richard Hawke.

Richard Hawke married Elizabeth Hart in Hartley, NSW near Oberon. I think the property was called Jerry's Meadows. I don't know much about their children but Richard Hawke is the father of my grandfather George Hawke who married May Stevenson. They had 16 children. Three died very young. 13 lived to adulthood and there are only four of them left. How do you contact directly on this site? George's children grew up in Dubbo and I think Dad had cousins in Orange. I think there was an uncle Sidney who was my father's cousin.
I would like to know who Terri's father or grandfather was as I grew up in Dubbo and have a brother and sister there still. I also would like to contact directly.

My mothers grandmother was Jane Hawke who was a sister to your Richard Hawke, I have info of his father Richard also his brother Joseph who came to New Zealand and I am in contact with his decendents as well.. I am descendant from one of George's sisters, my mum remembers her grandmother having a 1/2 sister called Maud. Perhaps her mother was aboriginal I don't know. Maud died in 1951 in Dubbo. She was Maud Alice Logue and was a nursing sister. Contact me for more information regarding Richard's children.

Hi, My maiden name was Hawke and my grandfather was George Hawke son of Richard Hawke who was married to Elizabeth Hart. My father told me his grandfather lived with an Aboriginal woman. Does anyone know the names of Richard and Elizabeth's children? Did Richard have a second Aboriginal family? I would appreciate any information on this. By the way my grandfather, George Hawke lived in Dubbo and is the great grandfather of world's best bowler(cricket, Glen McGrath, who is grandson of my father's sister.

I am trying to find any information on Leonard Hawke B. about 1838 from Londgaven married to Jane B.about 1843. Appears in the 1871 census living in Castle Street. Disappears in the 1881 census family moved to Lord Street. Children Richard, Eliza, George Leonard, Benjamin, Eda and Jessie, might have been killed in mine accident as he was an iron miner wife listed as annuitant in the 1881 census.Any help appreciated.

Now that Wendy has found Thomas John HAWKE's marr to Esther HUTCHINSON in 1896 (sorry I hadn't looked that far back!) I find I have his tree already done back to Robert HOCK who married Mary Ann UNK and had a son Richard in 1833 in Tywardreath, CON. He travelled to Northumberland, where he married Catherine SEYMOUR on 22 Jan 1866, then to Ireland, then ending up in Burnley, where Thomas John was born in 1874.

Just starting out. My grandfather Thomas Richard Hawke left Cornwall and arrived in Little Cornwall Burnley during the coal strikes of 1867 I believe!! my father Richard Thomas was born 1919 in Burnley.

I did notice that we both had Marshall & Hawke lines which is interesting, of course Marshall is my married name but our Marshall's come from Cornwall as well as my Hawke's, same area, Truro.

Thank you for this quick response. I am stillnot sure this Richard Henry Hawke son of Nicholas of Helston is neccessarily the same Hawke list on my grans marriage cert....although I quite like the idea of the Shoe maker/manufacturer family in Cornwall.

I am pursuing a RH Hawke lead now helpfully given by aanother contact that list a sailing to brazil in 1923 form an address in Blackburn and 2 birth records for an Olive Hawke in Burnely and Bootle in 1892.

Its interesting to see Hawke and Marshall linked in my family tree ( whixh I suppose youve sen under Bernard and Peter Marshall)and now yours!

I have found some info for you. Richard Henry Hawke's parents are Nicholas Boalden Hawke & Eliza Kneebone (married June Q 1855 Helston vol 5c Page 372).
I found them in the 1871 & 1881 census so far.

I did find his birth, there was only one Thomas Henry Hawke born in Cornwall in June Q 1867, St Austell, vol 5c page 136.
I did find a family that might be yours in the 1871 census they were all born at Roche & living at Belowda, Roche.
