Hi,
Was this Henry Head from England? If so when was he born? Where was he born? I have no Roman Catholic Head names.
So you are looking for a Henry Head born about 1750, somewhere in UK. and Catholic.
It does narrow down the possibilities, but most records are from Church of England Churches. The IGI is your best place to look.
I do not have any Henry Head in my tree who dissapeared at this time.
Sorry I cant help.
Marianne Head

All my Heads were from Lincolnshire, England. Before about 1830 they were all Heads, after that they dropped the s and remained Head. What is the name of your ancestor who emigrated to Newfoundland?
Cheers
Marianne Head

English Head or Heads Family

I would like to connect with anyone who has information about these English Head(s):

My grandfather was Robert Ashbridge Heads, b. 1878 in Howden le Wear, Durham, England. My Ggrandfather was Isaac Head, b. 1838 in Dalston, Cumberland, England. My GGgrandfather was John Head,b. 1801 in Dalston, Cumberland, England; m. Elizabeth Mason, b.1808 in Dalston, Cumberland. It seems there were many families by the name of Head (Heads) in Cumberland...my branch moved to County Durham, England and in 1891 my Ggrandmother, Elizabeth Ashbridge Heads brought two of her sons, to the USA and settled in East Palestine, Columbiana Co., Ohio...where most of her Ashbridge family had come many years earlier. Isaac and their son "Jack" remained in Durham, England. Jack came to East Palestine, Ohio in 1905 and joined his mother and two brothers. I don't know if Isaac had died or if he chose to stay in England.
My grandmother's family are HEADS from Howden in Durham, England. Her uncle was called Isaac. I don't think he's the Isaac you are talking about as the dates don't match, but as the tendency was to name children after relatives, there is likely to be other Isaacs in the family, one of them could be your ancestor. Get in touch and I'll send you what information I've found.
Chris

HEADS/ASHBRIDGE

I am searching for info on Isaac HEADS, b. 1838 in Dalston, Cumberland, Eng. He is my Ggrandfather. I have found him listed on the British 1881 Census as living in Durham, Eng. Elizabeth ASHBRIDGE b. 1858, Caldbeck, Cumberland, Eng. is my Ggrandmother. She and two of their three sons, Robert (my grandfather) and Isaac Jr., came to the USA and settled in East Palestine, Columbiana County, Ohio. The middle son, John "Jack", followed in 1908. Isaac Sr. never came to the USA....and I have no further knowledge of him. "Uncle Jack" always talked about Howden-le-Wear in Durham, Eng. as the town where he was raised. I can find no connections with the HEADS families posted on Ancestry.com.....does anybody out there recognize these names? Anyone connected to the HEADS of Dalston, Cumberland, Eng. or Howden, Durham, Eng.? Thanks for listening. Margie Barnette
