also, I do know that my mother's grandfather was a politician. we must be related somehow. My grandmother Mary had 6 sisters, Alice, Lillian and Catherine were 3 but I'm not sure of the others. your mother must have been my grandmothers sisters. I was very close to my Aunt Lillian, who passed a few years back at age 94, in fact most of her sisters lives into their 90's, with Catherine living to 99 I believe. Unfortunately my mother dies in 1968 at age 68 when I was 2 yrs old. My dad is from Wilkes-Barre and my parents moved to California in 1953 and were married fo 40 yrs and I'm the 8th of 9 children.

Of the names of their children that u mentioned, Mary was my mother and the others, of course, my aunt and uncles. My mother was born in 1932 and passed in 1992. Nan, Gene & Mike have also passed away. My personal e-mail is CoachKPC@aol.com I hope to hear from you and find out a little more about my mother's family.
Yes, my children are descendants of Henry and Mary Healey. I did not have their marriage date, so thank you for that. They had a son, Abram Healey, who was born 11 August 1839 in Romney Township, Kent Co. He married Elizabeth Dales, born 26 May 1845. She died in 1899? and Abram died on 29 Oct 1926 in Romney Twp. This is the line I am tracing. If you know of anyone else, or anything else that could help my search I'd appreciate you contacting me meg@wavedirect.net If you want any help from me please ask.
My GGgrandfather was Dominick Healey m in Carbondale to Anna(Honora)Cawley in 1853.Their son Edward moved to Jersey City,NJ where my gfather was born(William J) There was another son of Dominick named William that I have no record for b abt 1856. There were other children of Dominick - Annie,Mary,Ellen,Elizabeth,Jennie,Kitty in addition to Edward and there seems to have been a Michael that I have no other info on. Any connection?? The family other than Edward and Lizzie seem to have all remained in Scranton. It seems that Michael and William must have moved out of Scranton. Thanks and good luck with your search.
Fran Caparrelli

Hi Wendy,Yes we are connected via the Healey Family. Elizabeth b. 1838 was my grt,grt grandmother. She married William Horritt in 1860 and James William Healey Horritt, my grt grandfather was born in 1861.Her father James was born in 1814, as you say, and was married to Ruth. His father, Phineas was born in 1790 and was married to Betty. His father Thomas was born in 1754 and was married to Ann. His father was James married to Betty. It is interesting that Elizabeth b. 1838 also named one of her sons Phineas.

William Horritt, b. 1839,his mother was Mary b.1819 and she married a Robert Healey in 1844 but I don't know if he was William's father but could explain why William's son was named James William Healey Horritt.I dont' know how Robert fits in the Healey family. Any other info. you have would be most welcome. My e-mail address is DAVEHORRITT@aol.com Thanks for replying. Regards,David Horritt
Thanks for writing back, but I don't think there's a connection. Mary's father was Michael Joseph Healey (quite the local politician). Michael Joseph, as best I can tell, had 3 sisters and no brothers. His siblings were named Kate, Alice and Mary. Regards, George

I'm wondering if Mary's father had a brother James. My great aunt was Mary Dougherty who married James Healey in Avoca PA. There was a Finnan who was a priest in Pittston, who may be the brother of your Joseph.

My 2nd great grandfather John Healey (b. 1830 Listowel, Ireland) originally had the Healy family name. He appears to have changed it to Healey (the English variant)when he escaped the famine and made his way to London in 1850's. He had a daughter Margaret (b. 1854, London)and emigrated to Australia in 1855 where he was a New South Wales Policeman. His daughter Margaret married WIlliam Tennant Moss and they remained in NSW, so no help for you there.

I have a John Healy in my tree. This one was born 1830 in Listowel, co. Kerry, Ireland. However he made his way to London in 1850's (and changed his name to Healey)and married an English girl Mary Ann Anderton, became a policeman and emigrated to Australia where he continued as a policeman until his retirement.

James Healey

Does anyone out there have info on the marriage of James Healey (b 1811, Huddersfield, d 1890 Hull) to Eleanor Brotherton (nee Spencer)(b 1837, Hedon, Yorkshire)? I am best guessing, from putting census info together, that James and Eleanor were married sometime between 1871 and 1881 in the Humberside region. Can anyone confirm my "guessings"? I have had no luck finding any record of their marriage on a number of registers - so maybe they were married outside of their East coast zone and then moved back in time for the 1881 census. Can anyone confirm this for me or suggest where else I can look? Very many thanks, in advance, and hopefully....
