Glad to hear from you Florence. My mother's sister, Laura Kramer, married Joseph Vasboe. The Ole and Jonas Vasbo emigrated from Norway to Montana. I'm the unofficial genealogist of the family. Just recently found the wonderful site http://www.norwayheritage.com/ and got lots of info from the forums. I only found 5 children for Tonnes. No Bertine. Have you an online tree that I could access? Love to share info. I'm sure my Vasboe cousins would love to see any pictures. We must share info. Where do you live? Ralph redelange@hotmail.com

My name is Florence Scott (nee Sundstrom). My mother, Gertrude, died at age 35 & my Grandmother, Bertine Sturm (nee Helgeson) helped raise me - I lived with her from age 7 to 16. Bertine b.1880 is a younger sister of Elsie and she is the 8th child of Tonnes Helgeson Tjorn. Have digital pictures of Grandmother Bertine, Great Grandfather Tonnes & other members of the Helgeson family if you are interested.
Also, have letter dated May 11, 1988 written by Madge Vasboe. Are you related to Elsie?

My brother died recently, Oct 14th 2009. He married three times and had two children, Holly Marx Lynn and Robin Lynn. I married twice and had three children Karl Grayson Davidson, John Preston Davidson.
My mother Elizabeth Adel Hegleson died in California in 1965. My childhood knic-name was Tina. I am 71 and I think Carol Ann was close to my age and you were about four years younger. I remember your Fathers hair was very white when I saw him when I was a kid. Our Grandmother Florence was hospitalized for dementia and I think she died in Agnew State Hospital. I do remember my mother telling me that her brother left home and joined the Navy when he was very young. He was seven years older then her.

I am Dennis Hubbard and am also working on the Helgesons.
I did a search in ancestry and found this message.
I have been leaving messages in a Norwegian forum and received a wealth of information. But Talette's info doesn't match.
The one big question is where did Talette get T. Thompson? Did she adopt/change it from Askild "Tønnesen" her father?
Her death certificate states her father as Askel Tenneson which is americanized version. The rest of the info is very close to yours.
I am working with my second cousin Rosanna. Her grandmother and my grandfather were brother and sister. Her grandmother Emma Nielsen was married to Alfred Theodore Helgeson (the oldest one) He was actually born Theodore Alford Helgeson 6 Mar 1890.
I have all kinds of info from the forum. You can go to the forum here: http://www.norwayheritage.com/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4262&...

Do you have a family tree on Ancestry?
I do. Unfortunately, I think we are talking about two different Helena Helgesons. My great-grandmother was married to Hamlet Foster, had no daughter Louise, and died in Badger, Minnesota. I'm sorry we don't have a connection. I was wishing we had. :-) Thanks for responding to my post. Terry

Hey I am Helena Helgeson's Great Great Grandson. My name is Matt Olson. I do not know her husband. I know of her daughter, "Louise H. Helgeson". Oh yeah, and Louise was born in the town of Naples, in Buffalo Co, Wisconsin. She lived in Modovi Wi and died in Eau Claire, Wi in 1969. She was born in 1880 in this town, "Naples". I dont know if this helps but I thought I'd try.

Tobias immigrated in 1866 from Norway and Annie immigrated in 1862 from Norway. I found them on the 1900 Kendall County Illinois Census listed as Tobie & Anna Hilgeson. At least one of their infant daughters is listed in the cemetery index as Hilgeson.
Tobias was born 1838 in Olen Norway and died in 1928. He married Annie ~1969. They had 7 children, the 4 girls died before 1900 and only the 3 boys survived--Henry, my grandpa, born 1870; Erick, born 1875, and Andrew, born 1883. Erick married Elizabeth Stinson and had 10 children, including twin girls.
If anyone can provide more information I would be very grateful.

Hello Chris,

I'm interested in your Grandmother's name. I'm researching the family of Helge & Christina Helgeson who lived in Emmet and Palo Alto Counties, Iowa 1910 and 1920 respectively. Helge was born 1880 in Webster Co., Iowa and Christina was born abt. 1887 in Iowa. (Helge's parents were Helge & Bertha Helgeson from Øvrehus, Ænes, Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway.) Helge & Christina's children were: Bolette, John, Hermon, Arthur, Melvin. If you're connected to this family, please let me know. I know a relative of this family who lives in Norway, and I'm sure he would enjoy contacting you. Thanks. Lorna

Re: Mary Louise Helgeson married Brimmer John Peterson

I have no information regarding Mary Louise Helgeson nor Brimmer John Peterson, but thanks for the info.

I do, however, have more information about Laura J. Peterson and Richard Earle Collins. Laura had twins on 11/22/25:Lloyd A. Collins and Ann Collins. Lloyd died 4-24-26. Don't know what happened to Ann. Family lore states that with the birth of the twins, Laura said "Twins?" and turned over in bed, never having anything to do with them.

Richard Earle Collins was born 1/19/95 in West Superior, WI. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 1/17/18 and became a drummer at the Great Lakes Training Station. He was the son of Hattie Morse Collins and Richard E. Collins (married 8/8/89). He was the son of Charles H. Collins (d. 10/30/91) and Sarah Davis Collins (d. 10/16/89) of Petosky, Mich., and Hattie Morse Collins (b. 7/29/68 in Polo, IL, d. 10/7/28).

Hattie Morse was this sister of my grandfather William Henry Morse. The Morses came to this country in 1635, and there is much published information about them. In fact, I belong to the Morse Society, which has a quarterly newsletter and national meetings. But you are probably not interested in this line of inquiry.

Hattie Morse married again in 1908 and is buried with her second husband, Archie Gale, in the Morse family plot in Stillwater, Minnesota.
