My dad's Aunt, Mary Mahoney of Ballineen, married a Daniel Hennessy also of Ballineen, in New York City 1900. Daniel's parents were Arthur Hennessy and Margaret Hayes. Daniel's sister Mary married a Daniel Connell in 1886 New Jersey. Mary Connell, widowed in 1898, married John Mahoney, brother of Mary Mahoney, Daniel Hennessy's wife. Confusing, isn't it??? Do any of these people relate to any of yours????

ISO Mary Ann Hennessey (b.1859 limerick ireland) NYC

I'm looking for any information on Mary Ann Hennessey born in Limerick, Ireland about 1859. She was married to Henry William Beins (b. about 1860 in NY or NJ). The only family we know of were her 2 sisters Margaret (b. 1857 Limerick) and Josephine (born 1876 in NYC). She had other siblings but their names are forgotten. Her mother's maiden name was possibly Frazier (Fraha in irish?).

Mary Ann immigrated to NYC in 1863 at the age of 4 with her family.

Her children were (Herbert Joseph who died at age 19, Thomas who disappeared out West, Molly/William twins who died at age 2, and Hugh Michael Beins my grandfather).

Get the childrens birth certs the mothers maiden name will be on them .Surely you know her first name(given name)and look for a marriage cert in the previous 2years before the eldest child birth .Good luck ,Monte .

Cannot find any information on my great grandmother besides a marriage license for her second marriage to hugo hamerly and an obituary. I do not know her maiden name. She was born in 1900, had 6? Kids with john hennessy. Names are john charles, marilyn o., robert, betty, and tommy. Marilyn is my grandmother who was born in kansas, Illinois, or Arkansas in 1930. Any info would be helpful.

My father-in-law (James Joseph)and his father Joseph as well as my husband (James C.) are from the family located in Ballineen. In 1999 my husband and myself traveled to the village and old home as well. We were treated very well by the locals. We had win the trip to Ireland and the village people said we were lucky charms because fate had brought us to Ballineen village. We were treated to a tour of the over 200 year old Hennessy family home in Ballineen as well as tour of under gound cave and Black River hidden religious areas. It was a wonderful trip.

Monte, I realize that William/Willie is the same person. I was just explaining what changed from the 1901 to the 1911 census. Sorry for the confusion. I was hoping to find some connections to the Hennessy/Kiely family, but no news yet.

My hennessy are Australian Mary Ann she was 13yr old when transported on the daimond in about 1834ish sorry cant se the records but about that time she maiiried John/Richard Turner in about 1845 WHO CAME OUT IN 1822. maybe some were along the the line they maybe related maybe not???

Hello Brian I am searching for My Great grandfather Michael Hennessy Family.Michael was Born in 1834 Cashel Co Tipperary . His Fathers Name was Thomas Hennessy, His occupation is list as a Butcher on michael's Marriage Certificate. Michael Joined the British Army in templemore Feb 2nd 1853.Michael served for 21 years plus In the British Army. He served in Malta and India. He was awarded the India Mutiny Medal as well as medal for long Service .Thomas wife name may have Been mary Burke, but i am not 100 percent sure of this.I do not have any information of the Family In Cashel, so i will be forever grateful if you are able to help or if you could point me in the right direction . i am an austrlian looking for the wife of michael gavan who i think was mary hennessy. Michael was a wine merchant in clyduff in about 1760. he had a daughter bridget who married thomas obrien and their daughter mary jo came to australia and married ferdiand muller about 1877.??annie

They only connection I might entertain would be that perhaps James might be related to my Annie Hennessy. His second wife was probably not her as the Annie I am tracking was probably born in the mid 1860s. My grandfather was born in 1889. I am trying to follow the lead that my James Hugh Hennessy who was on the 1891 Ontario census was with his (possible) second wife, Annie, b 1851, with an Ella, age 14 there also.
Ella turns out to be Ella Rowe, the dau of this Annie (or Fannie), first married to a Rowe, secondly possibly Hennessy. Any bells ringing? Pat Weeks, Dana Point Ca.

I have a Francis Hennessy who married a Mary Ryan there daughter is My GGG grandmother, her name was a Mary Hennessy die 1899 she was transport at the age of 13 to Australia and settle in Cooma NSW where i am from.

It appears the family had another son, Willie. Ellen immigrated to the USA in 1909 so she was not listed in the 1911 census. She went to Los Angeles, CA to stay with an aunt whose last name was Regan/Reagan. She married Daniel Joseph Hennessy from County Cork (Dunmanway), Ireland. I believe her brothers Jeremiah and Thomas might have been living here:

Jeremiah – 24 yrs. old – servant for the O’Sullivan family
Thomas – 19 yrs. old – servant for the O’Sullivan family

Jeremiah subsequently immigrated to the USA in 1922. As far as I know, Ellen and Jeremiah were the only two from this family to immigrate to the USA. They both died in Los Angeles, CA, USA in 1959 (ironically, within one month of each other).

Here's a long shot. My grandfather was born illegitimately to Annie Hennessy in the city of Detroit, Michigan, USA in 1889. On census lists, Annie is noted to have been born about 1874 in Canada. Because my grandfather was first given the name James Henry Hennessy before he was adopted, I am thinking that perhaps Annie's father was James Hennessy or Henry Hennessy, or even James Henry Hennessy. I can find little about Annie Hennessy after 1891 in Detroit, so I am hoping to work backwards to find her family in Canada, but so far, no luck. Do you have any Hennessy's who made their way to Canada? Ontario is just across from Detroit, so it is possible Annie's parents settled there and there she was born.

Hi, I am trying to find any information about my g-grandmother, Annie Hennessy, who was born around 1874 in Canada. I am not even sure where in Canada, but I am betting Ontario because she came to Detroit to work here for many years. My grandfather was born in 1889 (illegitimate) and I can't find anything on his birth mother after that. Hi,

I'm looking for information of the descendants of any Ballineen Hennessys. I can trace my branch back to 1821(ish!) with the birth of my grandmother's great-grandfather Edward Hennessy, who had at least two sons- Daniel and Cornelius. I am a descendant of Daniel. His wife ran the local dispensary, as did her daughter May, later on.

I'd be really interested if anyone could fill in any more details as I know there are at least two threads to the family in that small area- I have also visited the village twice.

Hello Brian i am interested in Tracing my great grandfather's Family.Michael Hennessy born in cashel in 1834. Joined British Army In templemore co tipp.
i have found his army Papers I am interested in finding details of his siblings and his Father Thomas Hennessy who was a butcher. I have found what i believe to be his Baptism cert on my Heritage.ie.and that he could be from clonbeg Parish But need to validate it before i can contuine my search. I would be very grateful if you have any information on a thomas Hennessy and Mary Burke , their children Michael my great grandfather and his siblings Patrick , John , Laurence Hennessy , Regards Liz Hennessy Pugh

My Grandfather John Cohalan was a first cousin of Danial Cohalan Bishop of Cork. I know from family records that Bishop Danial Cohalan's Mother was Hennessy from Buddrimeen, Ballineen. This information is also available on the headstone on the Cohalan grave in the old graveyard in Kilmurray. This confirms that Rev Monsignor Jerome Hennessy and Bishop Cohalan were cousins. Rev John Cohalan nephew of Bishop Cohalan also went to Australia and became a Mosignor, but never returned to Ireland. He died around 1977/1978 and was buried in Australia. Apart from the Hennessy/Cohalan connection, I dont have any further information.

I have a Michael Hennessy baptised in Tulla parish, Co. Clare in Dec 1828. His parents were John and Bridget Canny. The baptismal record says they lived in Feakle.

A possible brother John was born in Dec 1835.

Michael Hennessy & Anne Joyce

I am looking for Michael "Mick" Hennessy who married Anne Joyce (I believe both are from Ireland, I have ordered their marriage cert from Manchester England which is from Jan-Mar 1952. They had 2 children in Manchester Fergus in Jan 1953 and Deidre in Dec 1955. They then immigrated to Australia in Nov 1959. They had one more child Dermot in Australia. Not sure when. Before 1969.. Anne Died in Oct 1969 from Leukemia. The family then went to Ireland in 1970-1972 in which they returned in Bexley NSW.. from there my trail went cold.. I am desperate to find them.. they hold a couple of family keys.. I have a few for them as well. Mick and Anne were good friends with my mum Josephine McCabe. Thank You!! Please, time is of the essence as Mick would be in his 80's.. I really need to speak to him.

I am looking for a John Hennessy (my great geandfather) in Doon, Limerick. His son John was born in 1872 and emigrated to NY in 1895. Another son was Joseph Hennessy who was a priest in the area, but I do not have many details on him other than he may have been a Trappist.

If your records spill over to the border to Limerick, I would be interested in anything you have or any directions you could point me. Thank you.

My grandma was a Hennessy and I am now researching her ancestry. Her grandfather was Patrick (married to Maria Fitzpatrick) and her great grandfather was also Patrick (married to Mary Houlahan.) Have you managed to obtain any additional info on the arrival of Patrick - father and son in Australia.

I am looking for Joseph Hennessy born in Ireland 1855 came to America in 1864. Married to Susan (aka Sadie) Bourne. They had several children. James Joseph 1884, Lillie May 1886, Delia 1888, Frank E 1891, John Cullen 1897, Angela 1903. All children were born in South Carolina. The family later moved to New York area. In our written family history his name is listed as John James but it is Joseph on all census records we have found. Any help would be appreciated.

My mother was Marie Waverley Hennessy Burch. Her father was John James Hennessy. His father was James Hennessy, who migrated to Australia in about 1840 and married Annie Lovell in St Francis' church, Melbourne in 1842. He was born in County Offaly Ireland (then called Kings County) and travelled to Australia with his brother John as a free immigrant on the ship Westminster. Both John and James are comon names, but maybe there is a connection.

My GG Grandfather is on Census of 1871 of District 184, Sub District a Alnwick Division No:3, as 'William Henesy', shoemaker of Alnwick Parish, New Brunswick, age 66 B. abt 1804 in Quebec and was married to Elizabeth Savoie in 1833 at Neguac, New Brunswick, Canada. He does not appear on any Ships Lists of the period so might have come up from the States after the Revolution. Might he be a decendant of your 'Richard Hennessey b. 1720 in the US m. I am researching some relatives - James J and Thomas Hennessy.The only information I have is that in the mid 1940s James lived at 661 W 179 St, New York. His brother Thomas at the same time lived at 554 W 160 St , New York.
Their mother's maiden name was O'Brien.
They nay have had relations in the New York area with the surnames Carraher or Bush.

I am looking for the line from John Hennessy, born 15 Feb 1872, from Palas Green, Limerick. He emigrated in 1895 to New York and married Hanora O'Donnell from Doon, Limerick in 1898. Her father was John O'Donnell in Doon who was a horse trader. She emigrated in 1894 0r 1895 with her sister Catherine.

I am related to a michael hennessy b1839county clare d 1895 in ballarat vic. ireland who married bridget ryan in ballarat 1867 . They had 9 children, alice,james,patrick,thomas,mary anne,john,william,lousia,hilda. most of the children were christened in St patricks cathederal Balllarat.

Brian, my grandfather was David Michael Hennessey. All I know is he lived in Louisiana, USA and moved to California about 1920. Married to Anna Chabreck. I can get more information from my brother and sister.

My G G Grandfather William Hennessy/Hennesey b. 1804 (where?) - d. 24 (Nov?) 1890 , lived (and died) New Brunswick and married Elizabeth Savoie/Savoy Neguac, NB on 31 July 1833.
Their children:
Alexander b. 1833, David (1835, died at 4 yrs old), Helene Eleanor (1837), David Savoy (1838-8 Jan, 1924 ), Mary Ann (1840), Mary Catherine (1844), William (1846), James Wasson (1848) Mary Jane (1850).
David Savoy Hennessy/Hennessey was my G. Grandfather. He moved to New Westminster. He married Sarah Allan Vance on 5 Feb 1892. (a 2nd Marriage) They had twins James Savoy Hennessey and Sabina Vance Hennessey. Sabina married Roy Allen Green. They were my Grandparents.
Is anyone able to help with the birthplace of William Hennessey b 1804 as we can find nothing on ship's lists as to when he emigrated, we assume from Ireland as the census all say his origin is Ireland. Clearly he arrived in NB before 1833 as that is his marriage year in Neguac..There has been a suggestion that he might have arrived in Canada with the Loyalists. Susan H.
