Hi Kathy,

It's been a while since you posted the inquiry but if you're still interested, my great grandfather's name was also Henry Hinrichs but from Madison, Wisconsin. Here's some names and dates you can check to see if there are any connections. I never realized that there were so many Hinrichs' around!

Henry Hinrichs, born: 1834 in Germany, died: 1896 in Madison, WI.

His father: Gummel A. Hinrichs, born 1802 in Germany, died: 1892 Madison, WI.

His mother: Janke Jansen, born 1807 in Germany(?)(the name sounds very Danish), died: 1854 Madison, WI.

Siblings: (all born in Germany, died in Madison, Wisconsin)
Marten Hinrichs 1834-1896
Edo Hinrichs 1831-1907
Margretha E. (Meta) Hinrichs 1839-1920

All of the above emmigrated to USA arriving in Madison, Wisconsin in 1847. They were one of the five founding German families of the city, according to Jack Holzhueter, Wisconsin Historical Society. The men were cabinetmakers and boat builders by profession. The family was Catholic.

Henry'son (my grandfather): Edward Adolf Hinrichs, born: 1882 Madison, WI, died: 1957 Madison, WI. He was the rebel of the family. He married a Norwegian Lutheran girl, Jennie Lund Severson of Cazenovia, Wisconsin in 1921, abondoning the Catholic church. They had twin sons in 1927, Edward (my father) and Arthur Hinrichs. Ed later became editorial cartoonist/staff artist for 'The Capital Times' and Art was the newspaper's sports editor/columnist.

There is also Otto Hinrichs, of the same generation as Henry, who is buried in Lodi, Wisconsin. I know he's a relative but I don't know any specifics.

I was born in 1952. I've been a designer of sustainable "green" buildings for almost 40 years. I also specialize in historical restoration.

Mark Hinrichs
Madison, Wisconsin
mark_hinrichs@yahoo.com
Henrichs family

I recently received my gfather's death cert. and found that his mother's maiden name was Catherine Broker. I looked up her married name and found that a woman with her name had lived in Nutley, NJ Essex county at the time of her death. My father was helping me research his family tree as he did not know any of his father's siblings or even the parents, etc. Daddy died a couple of weeks ago and I am just now continuing my search alone. Don't know if these Henrichs could be related. Daddy told me his family had been in Michigan at one time, but his gmother had split up with his gfather and all my gpas siblings went with their Dad, Charles Henrichs. If you have any info. I'd love to have it. Sincerely, Dawn H. Kalina

I am trying to the children of William Henrichs who lived in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. At this time William Henrichs would be between 70 or 80 years old. Brother of Arthur Henrichs who lived in North Bergen, New Jersey. There is another brother Adolf Henrichs and a sister Clara who live in Freehold, New Jersey. I would appreciate any information you could provide as I have not heard anything from this portion of my family. I am the daughter of Dorothy Henrichs and she would very much like to know if any of these relatives are alive and would like to get in touch with them. Thank you.
