Burkhard(t) Hains (Hense, Hentz)

My grandmother's maiden name was Haines. She was from Pennsylvania. Her ancestor was Burkhard Hains, who was from Germany and came to America in 1754. I want to find his original family name and what part of Germany he was from.

Hello, I am related to a Philip Hense b. @ 1818 who lived in Otter Creek, Linn, Iowa. He was born in Hesse, Darmstadt and I hope to find his birth city. He was brother to my ggg grandfather John Henz (Haines). Not sure if this is who you are looking for. Glad to share any info.

I'd be a descendant if your Phillip was living in Linn Coutny, Iowa in the 1870s. I wasn't aware that he was in the Civil War.

Anthony Hense and Arthur Hense

I am a desendent of Philip Hense. My grandfather was Arthur Hense and his father was Anthony or Tony Hense. Tony was Philip's son. They are all from Dubuque Iowa. I currently live in Front Royal, Virginia. My mother, Mary Lou (Hense) Rogers is still living. She lives in Dubuque. I have several pictures, and supporting data if needed.

My maiden name is Hense I was bornKarin Irmgard Hense. I emmigrated to Australia in 1960 with my father Helmuth, mother Inge, and brother Hermann. My father was from the small town of Helmarshausen in Germany and my grandfather was the mayer there, I think in the forties.

I am John Henses daughter from the UK and my grandfather was Theodore Alexander who also had a daughter (my aunt) called Estella.
Our family originated from East Prussia.
Theodore was the only sibling left in the UK during the war as his family moved out to America.
One of Theodores sisters was Lois.

This is a very strange coincidence,--I guess.
I have Karl H.A. Hense,(Known as Charles) b. 1842 in Saxe-Weimar, Germany, d. Washington D. C. 1884 and Wilhemine C.H. Narjes, b. 1850 in Altona, Hamburg, Germany, d. Washington, D. C. 1913.
But the names of their children are not the same as those you mentioned. I am searching for the daughters of their grandson William Crofts Hense, CAROLYN and Teresa!
Where were your Chas and Wilhemine living in the US?

I don't believe that your Theodore Hense is mine
I have Theodore Edward Hense (b 16 Sep 1906 in Iowa) and Theodore Phillip Hense (b. 22 Sep 1879 in Iowa)
My Hense's came to the states abt 1850-1851 from Corbach, Waldeck, Germany area.

When you find out the name of his father or other relatives
let me know and I might have some information on them.

There may be a connection,but I don't have enough information to confirm your information. I do not have a name for my GGF. I know he lived in Prussia and had sons old enough to fight in WWI. I have a family picture without any names. I do not know if he came to the Unites States. One of his sons my GF did and may have come with a sister.

I have a Theodor (no "e" on the end) Hense in my family. He was born in 1863 in Germany (then called Prussia) and immigrated to the United States through New York. His daughter (second child) Mary is my great grandmother. Does this match with anyone?

d. 6 Sept 1911 I have more brothers and sister infromation if need it on more brothers and sisters

Corresponding by phone and mail with elderly relatives (70+) and takes time to gather info. Have Philip Obit coming by mail from Theodoe E. Hense only living child and newspaper article about his stint with civil war service.

My ancestors came to from germany and settled in Dubuque County. My great grandfather was Theodore Hense, grandfather Theodore Hense, father Kenneth Andrew Hense.

Oldest Theo married Eva Dumas from Canada, they had 4 children, Dorothy, who died young, Theo (my grandfather)(1906-1972), Edmond and a daughter Helen.

My grandfather married Adelheid Wiemold, they had three children, Walter (1930-1985), Kenneth (193-2003) and Janet.

Janet is the only one still living.

Walter had no children.

Was Frank Hense, Ignatius son who Lived on Rhomberg in dubuque and worked for the railroad ?

I have Phillip Hense ( 8 Nov 1839 - 6 Sep 1911 )Obituary coming in the mail from Aunt (It names birthplace but I haven't seen it yet)
It names the children living in 1911.
He was there father.
I believe Magdalena Hense was his mother not sure of her maiden name Born abt 1806
my Aunt mention her.

Do you know much information about Joseph & Helena. I have found where Joseph is buried but I have no info on Helena, or Jospeh's second wife Magdalena and their three daughters.
