We are hitting a dead end looking for any info on the following family members. We have found baptism records from Purísima Concepción, Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico to get some of the parents and grand parents names, but hit a dead end there.

Father: Jose Maria Hermocillo, b around 1780-1800??

Mother: Ana Maria Almayda b around same time
Daughter: Dolores Hermocillo, b. Feb 1816 and married Pedro Melendres
Granddaughter: Victoria Melendres, b around 1850 married
Guadalupe Granado
Great Grand Daughter: Josefa Granado, b Sept 1870 and married Jesus Garcia

Did he have any sisters named Guadalupe? She was possibly born around 1889? Give or take a year? She lived in El Paso for the most part. She might of gone back and forth between Juarez and Texas? Not sure. She married a Montes.

Probably not the same, but could eventually be the same family. Our Jose de la luz married in 1860 and actually had a son named Jose de la luz as well in 1867. The first Jose de la luz married in Meoqui but was actually from Chihuahua City. I know Parral is probably 100 miles to the south but it would not be out of the range of possibilities for them to be related a bit further back.

I have an ancestor whos name is Jose de la luz hermosillo. But his wifes name is Maria Guadalupe MELENDES. They were from Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.

first time i come to this site. my family comes for san juan de los lagos, jalisco. i dont know any familly past my great granfather (ruberto hermosillo) none of my uncles know anything past my g.g.father. he died in the mid 80's and must have been born in the early 1900's. let me know if you have any info.

Looking for information on the family of Jose de la luz Hermosillo from Meoqui, Chihuahua. He lived during the latter half of the 19th century and was married to a Manuela Valenzuela. He may have been someone of minor prominence since some documents I've seen refer to him as 'Don' Jose. Mostly interested to see if he had any siblings or who his parents were. His father -Ignacio Hermosillo married Fermina Sanchez.
His father-Jose Manuel Hermosillo married Catarina Escoto.
His father Jose Lino Hermosillo married Ana Petra Moreno
His father Vicente Hermosillo married Maria Ynez de la Trinidad Martin de Padilla.

Thank you so much for your posting. It has a lot of possibilities in terms of the time frame and the region.

My Dad was born in Ocotlan, Jalisco and the research my oldest son has done seems to be focused in this area, especially around San Miguel el Alto and the other "Los Altos" areas.

I have sent my son, Marco, the link to this page and have asked him to check it out. We would like to stay in touch with you since this has now become a "lifetime" commitment for my son, one of my younger brothers, and now, my youngest daughter, who is 17. I have a Jose-Antonio de Hermosillo in my research. He was my second great grand-uncle (my great grandmother (Juana Maria's brother). He was baptised in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco in 1819. He married a woman (San Juana de Losa) from San Miguel el Alto. They had two children that I know of: Jose Francisco (1842) & Maria Merced (1844). His parents were Juan Maria de Hermosillo & Rafaela Gutierrez. I would be interested if there is any connection to your Antonio Hermosillo

Eric, my father was Raymond Hermosillo his mom and dad were Sally and Dennis.. I don't know much about either one of them.. what is your father's name.. My father came from a family of 8 boys and one girl..There are only a few brothers left.. Could this be anything of importance??

Hi there everyone!!
All I really know is the following: Hilario Hermosillo, my husband's father, was born in Las Cruses, New Mexico. I think that his mother's maiden name was Carmen Garcia Hernandez and his father's name was Benjamin Hermosillo. He has a brother Ricardo, a brother Benjamin, and a stepsister named Becky who would be about 41 years old right now. He was born on either Jan 11 or 12 of 1947. He left my husband's mother in 1975 when Dan was only 7 months old. He was a Green Beret of the Special Services. That's about all the information that I have. As I said in my previous email, my husband's name is Daniel Clifford Hermosillo and his brother is Hilario Hermosillo Jr. His brother was born in California and my husband was born in Massachussetts.

Hopefully someone can help me find the right guy!!

I too am a Hermosillo. My father was one of 7 brothers. All I know of my grandfather, Dennis Hermosillo, was he came from Mexico around the twenties and he may have had a couple of sisters. If anyone knows of this name drop me a line!
It seems we have quite alot of relatives!

HI, my name is Vanessa Brown, and my fiance is Daniel Hermosillo. His father, Hilario Hermosillo (which is also his brother's name) left when he was 7 months old and he knows nothing about him. I can only find one Hilario Hermosillo other than his brother, and this man is dead. Can any of you help me find out something about his father's family. I know he would really like to know.

Hey Marco ,its cool,like I told I have no oral history other than what I told you.I some time I hope in accessing records from the lds centers,but plan I hope, to go to the to jalisco this august with my mom and go where my great grand father was from ,a ranch called caballerias near the the town that I spoke of (san julian)whiich is near san miguel el alto and kind of close to san juan. I CROSS REFERENCED ALL OF THE ANTONIO HERMOSILLO'S AND THE ISABEL VALLEJOS AND CAME UP WITH WHAT I JUST SHARED WITH YOU, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BEING A SPELLING ERROR OF A "C" FOR HERMOSILLO, AND A "Y" FOR ISABEL. AS YOU MUST ALREADY KNOW, IT IS VERY COMMON FOR PEOPLE TO MISPELL OR REPLACE CERTAIN LETTERS WHEN IT COMES TO SPANISH NAMES. KNOW, I BELIEVE THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK FOR NAMES THAT ARE MISPELLED, WHICH I NEVER TOOK INTO ACCOUNT BEFORE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK INTO ALSO.

My great-great grandfather was an Antonio Hermosillo from Jalisco,
born around 1830, who had a son named Trigio Hermosillo, born about 1855.
He in turn had a son named Fulgencio Hermosill born January 16, 1882 in El Valle
de Guadalupe, Jalisco. He was my grandfather. My Dad was born in Ocotlan

Hola out there,my grandfather(antonio hermosillo) came from san julian ,jalisco.He was born on a ranch named san rafael.His father `s name valente(valentin)hermosillo born 1847 ,from ranch called caballerias near san julian and san juan de los lagos.Records indicate he had a brother named cesilio ,born 11-28-1844 inear san miguel el alto.Don`t know if he reached adulthood or got married.my grand father `s dad (valente )died when he was about 5 years lod .trying to find hermosillo relatives. p.s Valente`s dad was Ignacio hermosillo and mother was Fermina sanchez.
