Hello, Im Stephen Heslip. My great-great grandfather Ben Heslip was married to an Emily Heslip. He was born appx 1852 in Arkansas, and ended up in Lee Texas. i am not sure if Emily died. so i am unsure if your g-g aunt could possibly be his next wife. When did the Ben Heslip that youare referrign to die, and do you know the names of his children. My Great Grandfather Howard Heslip was his son.

Hello, Im am an African American Heslip as well. My grandfather Robert Heslip originally came from texas and his parent were Howard and Biffie Heslip. The spelling of Heslip changed with my families side due to my great grandfather going into the war, and them misspelling it on his papers. my name is hiedi heslip (prior to my marriage). i am searching for any of my family from belfast. i am the daughter of ronald alexander heslip, born may 10 1944 and his brother is brian who is younger. my uncle brian is last believed to be living in london around my birth 1970. i was born 14th december 1970 in perth western australia and sadly have never met my uncle brian and hope dearly that i have cousins. i have never found birth records for my father ron heslip or my uncle brian and do not know the names of my grandparents. i do believe ron knew van morrison very well in his youth which may give more clues leading to more information on their past. my mum is called liz(elizabeth) other wise known in her family as pivvy-brian may also know her as this. if anyone knows the whereabouts of brian etc im desperate to contact him. thank you and any info would be appreciated.

My name is Kevin Heslip from New Zealand, I too are chasing the background of the surname, I take it Green bay is not the one in New Zealand, there are about 30 heslips in the Great NZ some are not related but are spread out thru the South Island,some of us are from Maori desent, but the roots still travel back to Scotland I think(chasing that side). I've been researching my family for several years,didn't think to look outside of Tx. where I have lived my entire life.Heslip is my maiden name.My father is Herman(deceased)was born in Burleson County(Central Texas)1930.I do have an aunt in California,but she in her late 80's.So far I've traced back to my great-grand father John.Let me know a little about your family search.

My father went through some really bad times and in the process lost all contact info for his family. I was trying to find my grandmother beverlys address when I had discovered that she had passed away, and not only that, her daughter june had passed away as well.. Hello. I was trawling through the net when I came across your message. My grandfather was Thomas Lewis Heslip, born November 1887. He was baptised in Stonebridge Presbyterian Church in County Monaghan, Ireland. His father and grandfather were born in the townland of Ardaragh, County Down.

There were large concentrations of Heslips from the Newry area of County Down, and Hazletts/Hasletts too.

There was a concentration of Heaslips in County Cavan also.

These families migrated to Ulster from Scotland and the north of England in the early 1600s. Most then migrated to North America, largely in the later 1700s.

I don't know if theres any connections between us but because you bring up the name samuel that rings a bell considering my name is Tyler samuel heslip and my dads middle name is the same and also so was my dads fathers middle name and was wondering if maybe are middle names were past down from a heslip that had samuel as a original name that you may be reffering to.

This might be a stupid question but where im from in green bay heslip is not very common, actually were the only heslips im aware of and i was wondering if the others that share my last name, would i be related to them?

I don't know about Texas, but I'm a Heslip and am african american. My family comes from Michigan. A lot of us have moved west to the Seattle area in the late 70's early 80's including me. Looks like I had a brother from my father's first marriage that died in texas. I was only 4 years old in 1974 but his name was Edsel Van Heslip. e-mail me, i just started researching my family history.

I'm searching for descendants of Nellie F. Heslip, b 1885 Minnesota, and her two sons, David F., b 1910, and Charles M., b 1918. Nellie was the daughter of Frank GILMORE, b ca 1857 Wisconsin. Family is enumerated on the 1930 census in Valley township, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Nellie's brother, Leo P. Gilmore married my grandmother, a widow, in Texas. Leo was the only grandfather I knew, even though he is not a blood relative, I would like to know more of his family. I have photos I would love to share with anyone researching this family.

Emily Jane Heslip is a first cousin once removed to the Bronte sisters. She and Hugh came from Co Down to Irvine , Scotland and then onto the Bradford/Huddersfield area of England.

It is believed that in England there is a descendant alive by the name of Annie Lennox.

Although I am a Hyslop originally from Ayr Scotland, searching through the LDS I find that my relatives in the early 19th century were recorded as Heslip and in one family line, later children became registered as Hyslop. Our family bible starts with a William "Hyslop" from Ireland and Abigail Hogarth from England, but their son David born in St.Quivox, Ayr in 1783 was recorded as Heslip which was not known to my late relatives in Ayr. Do you know where from in Scotland your origins may have come?

Unfortunately, I cannot say as I only know of William Hyslop (probably Heslip) from Ireland whose son (one of) David Heslip was born in Ayr, Scotland in 1783. We don't as of yet have a clue from where in Ireland our Hyslops were located. Hyslop is common in Scotland but not Heslip and that I believe is my family root name.

I'm sorry to say that i don't have much myself on this family but will help with what i can. here is what i do know: William James Heslip B. nov 10, 1888 in Yearlyville, Canada D. 26 feb 1961 in Gladstone buried at Fernwood cemetary. His father was Samual William Heslip b. 1865 in Watertown,NY. His mother was Evangeline May Fraser b. mar 17 1865 in Canada. William James married Sarah Page b. april 13 1891

I am living in Massachusetts, came from Michigan, my grandfather--William James Heslip--came from Brantford, Ontario, and his family came from Ulster. I have not found the link from Ulster to Ontario and information on Heslips making that move would be appreciated.

My great grandfather Andrew Heslip (wife Jane Waddell) immigrated from Northern Ireland to Canada. They settled in
Peterborough, Ontario. They had three children: Marshall (who
was also born in Ireland) who married Agnes Campbell - they had two children Ceclia and David. Second child was Elizabeth Sarah who never married. Third child was William Andrew Heslip
(wife Myrtle Viola Downer) They had eight children . I have just begun to trace my ancestry. Hopefully this info will be helpful to

Seeking information about David W. Heslip and Maria G. Heslip. They were married 22 Nov 1855 in Carroll Co., MS.
David W. Heslip was born in ?KY--I have no other information about him.
Maria G. Heslip was born in MS abt 1833. This is both her maiden married name. She is found in the 1870 Polk Co., GA census as head of household with 5 children: Florence (18 Sep 1856-23 Mar 1936), Ada (b. abt 1858), David (b. abt 1860), Joe (b. abt 1862), and ?Edwiny (b. abt 1865). She is not in the 1880 census and 2 of the children (Ada David) are found in the homes of relatives.

I have Heslip in my lineage. My ancestors emigrated from Scotland to Banbridge, Ireland, to Pennsylvania, USA. The spelling was originally Heslip or Heslop but changed to Hezlep after coming to USA. Oldest known ancestors were George and Esther (Bruce) Heslip, parents of Samuel Hezlep (1767-1854). Any connections?
