HESTON's who were in America, (before the Irish famine of the 1840's when a few Irish HESON's came to America), are probably all descended from Zebulon HESTON and Dorothy HUTCHINSON. This Zebulon HESTON came to America in 1684 and got married to Dorothy in 1698.

The HESTON FAMILY ASSOCIATION will be for the descendants of Zebulon HESTON and Dorothy HUTCHINSON. Zebulon Heston arrived in Eastham, Barnstable Co, MA from England in 1684. By using this website for Family Newsletters and Family Reunions, we will rekindle the bonds of our HESTON Family which began when our ancestors Zebulon and Dorothy got married on 3 DEC 1698 in Hutchinson Manor, Burlington County, New Jersey.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hestonfami...

Dr. Mary E. Heston, Cleveland, OH 1861-1934

Seeking information on Dr. Mary E. Heston, born between 1861-1865 in Ohio. Graduate of Cleveland Homeopathic Medical College, 1893. She maintained a practice first at 901 1/2 Woodland and later at 2524 E 55th St. SE from 1893 to about 1925. Died 17 June 1934 at the Cuyahoga County Infirmary. Buried Harvard Grove Cemetery. Parents unknown on death certificate. She seems to have never married. I would like to find out more about this remarkable woman's life as a physician at the turn of the century, and see if she is related to my Heston family line. Any bit of information is welcome!

WOW, guess we are distant relatives. Feels good to know there are others from the line out there! Thanks so much for writing back. The only tie I have is the death certificate for Issac John that lists Henderson and Rebecca as his parents. Do you have any idea where in WVA Henderson was buried. Would it be in Ohio County. Issac's marriage certificate states he resided there? I stumbled across his death certificate and his marriage license register when looking for family information for the DAR. If I find anything I will be sure to let you know. If you can direct me toward places that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tammi

Hi,
My great-great grandfather was Isaac's brother. His name was Benjamin.
Their father is Henderson Heston who was born in 1820 in VA and died in1870 and is buried in WVa.

Benjamin had a son named Henderson, whose son Ellsworth is my grandfather.

Seems like the family migrated from VA, WVA and ended up in eastern OH.
My family is from the Newcomerstown/Port Washington area.

I haven't been able to find much info on Henderson...so i have to think that he may have been one of the first Heston's in the US.

Pat Heston Horn, i just found your threads in Ancestry.com with Jane. My great grandfather was Isaac John Heston son of Henderson Heston. He married Elizabeth McFadden and had two daughters and a son - Edith Heston, Elizabeth D Heston(my grandmother) and a son William Heston. They settled in Brilliant (village) Jefferson County Ohio. I just today made the connection of Henderson and Rebeca Kellar Heston to him. He died in 1912 from apparent suicide. According to the newspaper article I found he was distraught over the weather and told my grandmother he didn't think the sun would ever shine again. He went out to an outer building and drank carboelic acid. I grew up in a family where past family wasn't discussed and my grandmother was always called Grandma McFadden, so I was surprised to find out this was her maiden name when I started genealogy. His daughter Edith married Wilfred Johnson and is buried in New Alexandria Jefferson County Ohio. William, Isaac John and my grandmother Elizabeth are buried in Oakland Cemetery Mingo Jct. Jefferson County Ohio. William died of pneumonia after an accident in which he fell off his locamotive at the steel mill. He had upper body injuries, developed pneumonia and died the next day.(that I found today also on his death certificate I found online). If you want the little I have I would be glad to share.

Yes, here are answers based on many years of research by our HESTON cousin, Pat Heston Horn.

These are answers about Edward Warner Heston's family asked by Alice Longaker-Bunuan (aka A.J.) on the HESTON Message Board here at Rootsweb (dot) com on 16 Nov 2011. As of now, there are NO clues as to who Zebulon Heston's parents were.

Yes, Edward Warner Heston is the grandson of Zebulon Heston and Dorothy Hutchinson. His parents were Jacob Heston and Mary Warner.

The First Heston Generation of (The Immigrants) Zebulon HESTON and Dorothy HUTCHINSON by Pat (Heston) Horn on JAN 12, 2005 Wednesday; Website Editor - Martin J. Bellard on FEB 15, 2007 Thursday.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hestonfami...

Zebulon Heston came to Eastham, Barnstable Co, MA, in 1684, in company with one Benjamin Wiggins, having sailed from Cornwall, England. Wilfred Jordan in his "Colonial and Revolutionary Families of PA", stated that Zebulon came from Heston Parish, Middlesex Co, England, but this has never been substantiated. It is believed that Zebulon was not a Quaker while in England, but converted to Quakerism, as W. W. Davis' History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, states, "His sympathies, which had been aroused for Friends while in New England by the unjust persecution of the Quakers, led to his becoming a member of their Society."

Hi there;

my grandmother Alice Coggins was Hannah Heston & David Coggins great granddaughter. The information I have about Edward Warner Hestons's children match yours. i did not know that they were from his 2nd wife, Sarah Hall. Am I correct that Edward Hestons grandfather was Zebulon, born 1670 in Middelsex England? Any clue as to who Zebulons parents were? I am living out here in California and am fascinated by all of my distant relatives!

Alice Longaker-Bunuan (aka A.J.)

Fourth Annual National HESTON Family Reunion on AUG 6, 2011 Saturday

To my fellow HESTON Family descendants,

I was here at the home of Rick and Karen Johnson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the Fourth Annual National HESTON Family Reunion on AUG 6, 2011 Saturday.

This HESTON Family Reunion was a wonderful success with 10 HESTON Family cousins in attendance.

Here are the names of those who came to the 2011 HESTON Family Reunion on AUG 6, 2011 Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Karen and Rick Johnson, Martin J. Bellard, Pat Heston Horn, Dave Heston, Eva L. Burns, Patty and Roger Waltz, and Robert and Susan Heston.

Monica Bellard McBride and Mark Bellard called us from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because they were not able to come to the Reunion today.

Karen and Rick Johnson hosted the Reunion from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. at their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We had good food to eat and enjoyed meeting and sharing information with our HESTON Family cousins. Taking pictures, sharing stories, looking at the various exhibits of pictures and other stuff, exchanging addresses, etc are other things that we did.

I want to give a special thank you to Rick and Karen Johnson for coordinating the Reunion. I also want to give special thanks to Pat Heston Horn for her wonderful presentation of HESTON Family History which her father, John P. Heston, began in the 1950's and 1960's AND which Pat has continued working on for many years herself. John P. Heston wrote the HESTON Historian newsletter from 1957 to 1961 and set up HESTON Family Reunions from 1959 to 1961. This was similar to her presentation made two years ago in Wycombe and Wrightstown, Pennsylvania.

Plans have been made for the Fifth Annual National HESTON Family Reunion to be held in California in 2012, which was also the location of a previous HESTON Family Reunion in 1961 led by John P. HESTON. This occasion will celebrate the 51st Anniversary of that previous Reunion in 1961. Plan now to attend next year.

Pat Heston Horn told Dave Heston and I that I should set a deadline for making plans for next year. By MAR 31, 2012 I should have the details of who in California will help me to host the 2012 HESTON Family Reunion similar to how Karen and Rick Johnson helped set up the Reunion this year in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Otherwise, if the deadline goes past, then I should pick another state such as Ohio, Indiana, or Illinois. This is because how much more expensive California will be.

from your HESTON Family cousin,

Martin J. Bellard

To my fellow HESTON Family descendants,

Time to signup for the 2011 HESTON Family Reunion on AUG 6, 2011 Saturday.

All HESTON Family descendants need to either sign the HESTON Family Guestbook listing the names of everyone from your household who are coming to the Family Reunion OR send me an E-Mail message at bellard1956mj@yahoo.com as soon as possible, so I can list the names here in the Guestbook of those who are planning to come from your household.

We are planning the 2011 HESTON Family Reunion on AUG 6, 2011 Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As of today there are nine HESTON Family descendants who are planning to come: Martin J. Bellard (that is me), Karen and Rick Johnson, Pat Heston Horn, Dorothy Heston Norton, Robert and Susan Heston, Dave Heston, and Eva L. Burns.

Also, as of now there are two HESTON Family descendants who are probably coming: Donald Charles Heston and Donald's daughter Diana L. Heston.

As for the time (hours on that day of AUG 6, 2011 Saturday) for the Reunion; generally, I try to set it at around 9 AM to 5 PM which is fine when the location is at a public place like a Park or a Library. But since it is to be at our cousin's home (Karen and Rick Johnson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa); and we are her guests; I am letting her set the hours for the wonderful occasion. As soon as I find out from them; I can let you HESTON cousins know.

So far it seems that that those responding for attending is still under twenty HESTON cousins. I remember Karen Johnson writing an e-mail message to me that she wanted it in her home, unless we had more than 20 people coming.

I keep the current number and list of those wanting to come to the Reunion at the Homepage of the HESTON Family Website at Rootsweb dot com and the HESTON Family Guestbook.

As for the food; I think the Johnsons' are providing the food; but I think that it would be nice if others bring something as well.

As for the plans for the day; Pat Heston Horn is our guest speaker again. Pat is the daughter of John P. Heston who set up HESTON Family Reunions and wrote the HESTON Historian newsletter in the previous generation from 1957 to 1961. Taking pictures, sharing stories, looking at the various exhibits of pictures and other stuff, exchanging addresses, etc are other things that we will be doing.

from your HESTON Family cousin,

Martin J. I think she had a sister named Ella and brother named James. I believe her family owned a pub in Donegal. Perhaps we're of the same Devers?

To my HESTON Family cousins,

Four HESTON Family descendants came to the Third Annual National HESTON Family Reunion in Dubuque, Iowa on AUG 7, 2010 Saturday. It was located at the Grand River Center, 500 Bell Street, Dubuque, IA 52001.

The four HESTON Family descendants that came to the Family Reunion were Martin J. Bellard from Texas, his sister Monica (Bellard) McBride from Pennsylvania, and Rick and Karen Johnson from Iowa.

We had decided there on AUG 7, 2010 Saturday at the HESTON Family Reunion to make a contest to decide where we will have next year's reunion.

Between now and DEC 31, 2010; we will decide to have the reunion either in Iowa or in California. If it is in Iowa, then we could hold it in Cedar Rapids OR in Dubuque where we were on that day in AUG 2010. If it is in California, then the site will be determined by HESTON family descendants who live there in California.

The number of HESTON Family descendants who make a confirmed decision to come to the next reunion by notifying me by E-mail message OR by submitting a HESTON Guestbook entry will determine where we hold next year's HESTON Family Reunion; either in Iowa or in California.

As of right now on SEP 20, 2010 Monday, it is still Iowa - 4 HESTON descendants who came there last month; California - 0 HESTON descendants. We voted for Iowa because 50 years ago; several hundred (possibly 350 HESTON descendants came) AND last month ONLY four of us HESTON descendants came.

Good luck to all who want to come to determine where we shall meet next year.

Thank you,

If you are interested in deciding the location for the HESTON Family Reunion; then send me an E-Mail Message at bellard1956mj@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

your HESTON Family cousin,

Martin J.
Re: 2010 HESTON Family Reunion CoOrdinator Needed

Third Annual National HESTON Family Reunion

2010 HESTON Family Reunion CoOrdinator Needed

To my HESTON FAMILY Relatives,

Would you like to be our 2010 HESTON FAMILY REUNION Co-Ordinator for the Third Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION to be held in IOWA this summer? I sure could use the help from someone who lives near the area and knows it well enough to help get this HESTON FAMILY REUNION moving to be a success for all of us HESTON cousins. Specific city and location to be determined in IOWA. We also need one (or more) HESTON Cousins to be the Coorrdinator(s) for the Reunion in IOWA in 2010. If you are interested in planning the HESTON FAMILY REUNION; then send me an E-Mail Message.

I had originally wanted it to be held on JUL 03, 2010 Saturday in the wonderful state of Iowa; possibly in the city of Osceola where the previous HESTON FAMILY REUNION took place 50 years earlier to the day on JUL 03, 1960 where 350 HESTON FAMILY descendants gathered for the Second Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION headed by that HESTON genealogist, John P. HESTON. Our cousin, Mr. HESTON, was the Editor and Publisher of the HESTON HISTORIAN newsletters and directories written from 1957 to 1961. He also organized the three Annual National HESTON Family Reunions: 1959 in Pennsylvania, 1960 in Iowa, and 1961 in California. Now 50 years later, I am working on this special genealogy hobby for the HESTON FAMILY.

But that date being only 5 weekends away; I have decided to delay it until AUG 7, 2010 Saturday to give us enough time to plan this event.

The Second Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION was held last year on JUN 20, 2009 Saturday at the Fraternal Order of Police, Bucks County Lodge #53, 1058 Mill Creek Rd in Wycombe, Pennsylvania AND then moved to the Wrightstown Village Library in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania due to the rainy weather. After that some of us stayed to visit the Wrightstown Quaker Burial Grounds also in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania. The HESTON FAMILY REUNION was a wonderful success with 34 HESTON cousins in attendance; 28 of whom initially gathered in Wycombe and then after we moved the REUNION to Wrightstown 6 more HESTON Family Cousins joined us for a total of 34 HESTON FAMILY cousins. Special thanks to Pat Heston Horn for her wonderful presentation of HESTON FAMILY History which her father, John P. Heston, began in the 1950's and 1960's AND which Pat has continued working on for many years herself. Also, a special thanks to Don Owens and Dave Heston for coordinating the REUNION.

The First Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION which was held in Newton, Kansas (located near Wichita, Kansas) on JUL 26, 2008 Saturday was a wonderful success with approximately 20 - 25 HESTON cousins in attendance. Exact count will be determined later by REUNION photographs and response from those in attendance. Special thanks to Gail Jones for coordinating the REUNION and to Dave Heston and his mother Grace Heston with whom I got my ride from Motel 6 in nearby Wichita.

Plan now to attend this year for the 50th Anniversary of that previous REUNION in 1960... All interested HESTON cousins need to spread the word AND start efforts to make this a reality. Thank you.

from Martin J. Bellard

a HESTON FAMILY descendant and the Webmaster of the HESTON FAMILY ASSOCIATION Website at Rootsweb (dot) Com
___________________________________________
