My apologies for the late reply. I'm not sure if we have a connection. I'm not that far back yet in that line of my family. My great great grandfather, William Hey was born in Philadelphia, PA and his Father is Hiram Hey. Hiram was born in England. I can tell you that my great grandfather, John Hey would always visit Canada and speak of family that lived there. We just don't know "who" the Hey's in Canada are. I do have one picture from 1926 in Canada with family but no many names on the back.

Stacy

Winden Germany Heys

Is anyone researching the De La Hay, La Hey, Heys, etc in Winden, Germany? I'm descended from a De La Hay family from Winden and have recently started piecing together the family. MY De La Hay's married into the Petillion family. The Petillions were French Huguenots who eventually ended up in Winden. I believe the De La Hay's were also French Huguenots, but I haven't been able to trace my family further back from Winden. The surname De La Hay has several variations. My immigrant ancestor used the form Hey which eventually changed to Hoy after immigrating to the United States. If you are researching this family, please contact me. manatee267@yahoo.com
Thanks much! Melissa Hoy Jones

Hey surname - I have some information on the following:

Hello everyone.... I recently ordered a bunch of burial permits and death notices from the St. Louis library in hopes of finding information on the HEYL name. As we all know, many times we need to expand our "name" to find missing links. Unfortunately none of the Heyl family appeared, but I now have information that I would like the HEY family to have. If any of these people are yours, and you would like copies of these papers, just contact me and we can make arrangements to get these to you. Happy Hunting.. and if you ever come across HEYL surname info, let me know! Megan Heyl

Elizabeth Hey - burial permit from 1/13 1920
Ernst E. Hey - Death notice from 10/18/1914
Charley Hey - burial permit from 8/22/1912 and death notice from 8/21/1912

Janis, Lorraine -

It's not so simple. Note that Aaron Hey (b 1846), son of Edwin Hey & Ann Wilson, had a daughter Beatrice (b 1875) who married Samuel Rushworth in 1898. Not the same Aaron Hey, and Samuel Rushworth may not have been (closely) related to your Betty. Note also that Rushworth and Rushforth were effectively interchangeable.

Best wishes, Rod

Hi Lorraine,
I pay for and receive the UK English information from Ancestry. I plugged in Search Keighley England Registers for that info. We also go to the nearby Latter Day Saints branch where they are very helpful. I sent this message two days ago but it did not get in the message board. Maybe because I gave you my screen name. I thought it would be easier.
Janis

Hi Lorriane,
We have no Hiram in our background to 1800. I do notice that Joseph Hey and Betty (in the old Keighley birth records) have four children listed. They are Hirum,1826, Agnes,1828, Laycock,1835, and Aaron, 1837. My husband's family goes back to John Hey and Martha who had William,1825, Sunderland, Pearson, and Rebecca. William is the one that left Keighley and came to Lawrence, Mass.

Lorraine,
Sorry to take so long. I don't think we're (or I should say my husband and you) are closely related but let's face it. A small town in England has so many people with the surname Hey that it must have merged way back.
We're still trying to take things back from 1800 and we will try the LDS once again next week for early records of this area. We have sent for some that might help us. I'll sure let you know if I find something.
