Looking for information on the family of my great-grandmother Klara Hiestand Jost. She was born July 19, 1907 in Eßlingen, Tuttlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and died October 26, 2005 Tuttlingen, Tuttlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Her parents were Leo Hiestand and Theresia Leiber(?) from Baden-Württemberg. Apparently she had brothers and sisters as well. Any information would be appreciated!

Looking for the family of Warren G.Hiestand. My dad served with him in WWII and I have a couple of pics I want to get to the family. My dad passed in 1995 and understand from web search that Warren passed in 2000.

After my dad died mom gave me all of his pic's and other info. There is no use me keepng these pics.

I second Roger's plea. I had both maternal and paternal DNA tests and found the results somewhat surprising; and it has put me in touch with other relatives. Which brings me to Hiestand. I urge members of the Hiestand family here and any abroad to send for a paternal lineage Y-DNA 46 test and send it in. You don't need to have a subscription to Ancestry.com to take the test and get results. A group can be created on Ancestry.com for the various Hiestand/Haston/Hasten/Hastings etc. surnames. You'll also be noitified by email via Ancestry.com of any matches. I think this will help tie the various strands together or dispell some of the origination myths. Thanks!

Daniel are you sure that Jacob was b in PA. I have being b abt 1735 in Muesen Germany. I do have his wife Maria Elizabeth Brumback b 6 Sep 1736 in Muesen Germany. I have her parents as John Brumback & Anna Julianna Kemper.
I have Jacob Sr. & Maria's children as follows:
Samuel, Abraham, Joseph, John, Jacob Jr., Elizabeth & Maria. I have Elizabeth marr to Jacob Stouder & Maria marr to Jacob Bixler. Can you help me with more info on this line? Also let me kno if I need to make any corrections to what I have.

George Chauncey was born in 1910 his mother died at his birth family lore is that His father commited suicide when he was 3 days old and George was allegedly adopted by his mothers sister who was married to George Orchard and George's name was then Chauncey Orchard all of this took place in Cleveland OH I am trying to find information on Paul Chauncey for genealogy purpose all of the folks here are deceased.

Have you seen any books by Richard W. Davis? He has done quite a bit of first-hand Stauffer research in Switzerland and has written some books and magazine articles. In "Emigrants, Refugees, and Prisoners, vol 1", he gives Maria's maden name as Latshaw but only lists one child: Susanna b. c. 1765. Please feel free to send me a personal email and we can communicate on the Stauffer/Hiestand lineage.
