Hi. My great great Grandmother was also an Higuera. Her name was Custodia Higuera and I believe she was born in 1854 in Contra Costa County. All the Higueras in CC and Alameda Counties seem to be related some how. Does your family have any later connections (around 1880's or so) to Livermore? Have you checked both the Contra County and Alameda census data for 1860 for your family? I would look at both since things weren't exactly orderly back then.

POW/MIA Korean War, HIGUERA

I am searching for the families of a soldier with the surname HIGUERA that were lost in the Korean War. At this time the government has no family contact. At the time he was lost his remains were not recovered. Family DNA is needed to identify remains if and when they are recovered. At the time they entered service they gave their Home of Record as posted below

Soldier: RNALD JAMRS HIGUERA
Born: 1932
Date of loss: Nov. 6, 1951 MIA
Home of Record: Contra Costa, California

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. Our government has no family contact for this soldier.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
517 Mohican Trail
Wilmington, NC 28409

40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Hi. I'm actually looking for anything before custodia...have you been able to find anything since this post? I'm doing a big project on land grants-do you have any info? Custodia would be my great-great grandmother and my aunts do remember my great-grandma Isabelle (grandma Belle) talking about her. She was apparently small and had very strong native american features. I can ask for more info about her. You can contact me if you have any questions or info. thanks!

I’m looking for his two daughters, my sisters, from his marriage to Clyda Mae Miears in the early 1940’s in Ashdown, Arkansas. Mary Elizabeth was born 1943 and Billie Marie 1945. All I know about the girls is that Mary married a Carl Miller in San Luis Obispo, CA in the mid 1960’s and Billie Marie married a Glen Johnson of Bakersfield. Billie had two children. The daughter married into the Blevins family. I appreciate any information you may be able to provide. Please feel free to e-mail me or call (H) 972-452-3476 or © 214-801-8501.

I believe James might be the son of William Higuera from Spain.
He would be my great-great uncle. My grandfather was Thomas Edward Higuera Sr and William was either his father
or grandfather. I'm still working on the connections. Send me your email address and I'll give you what I have so far.
Have a great day!! Linda Higuera

Virginia Higuera was my grandfather's, John Bromstead (aka John Bromstadt), wife. My uncle was Jonny Bromstead of San Leandro, CA. He was one of the children that resulted from that marriage. My father, pre adopted name Richard Stewart Bromstead (aka adopted name Richard Louis Bellamy), was from half brothers with Jonny Bromstead. My grandfather married and divorced several times- this was fairly strange behavior turn to the turn of the century. I heard that Viginia Higuera died when she was middle age. Supposedly she was an alcoholic and drank Lysol, either thinking could get a buzz from it or by accident, and died as a result.

robinbellamy@hotmail.com

Yours is an old posting so you may not even see this reply. I am from the Martinez - Higuera union. The daughter of Don Ignacio N. Martinez, Delores Martinez, married Pedro Higuera and to that union was born my brandmother. I know alot about the Martinez side od the family but cannot find anything in relation to Pedro's lineage. I do have information on some of Pedro and Delores' children and would love to share with you whtever I have. If you reply to me then I will pull everything out and see if your grandfather is among their children. Fhiguera@gci.net

I am the great, great granddaughter of Pedro Higuera and Delores Martinez. Delores was the Grand daughter of DOn Ignacio Martinez of El Rancho Pinole. He was the former Commandante of The Presidio in S.F. CA. Delores and Pedro had many children, among them, my grandmother, Sevalina Martinez Higuera. Sevalina married Joseph Bradhoff. Joseph was the son of John Henry Bradhoff who has roots in the history of San Luis Obispo, so I am sure some of the Higuera roots are there as well. Some of the Higuera family members I recall are Tomas, Viola, Virginia, Teodore or Theodore (depending on what info you are looking at). I live in the CIty of Martinez and would be very excited to get to know other family members. E-mail me at fhiguera@gci.net or post to this board. I'll be back!

Manuela was from Pitiquito and Jesus fron Hermosillo. Some of their children were born in Tucson, they had fourteen total, Fermin, Maria, Dolores,Guadaluupe,Josepha, Manuela, Juana, Carmen, Jesus, Joaquin,Francisco, Jose, Santos and Wenceslao.
Hi - I am just starting my search. My great grandmother(I believe) is Victoria Higuera. She lived in San Luis in the late 1800's early 1900's. My grandmother was born in 1900 so it had to be during that time. Victoria died in the early 1900's. She married a Wiemer.

Let me know if you have any information on her or where I could look.

Thanks,
