B: Apr 25, 1875 Germany, found on 1910-1930 census in Jersey City, new jersey, looking for any info that anyone might have come across, married to Lena, has daughter named Helen M, and a gdaughter Dorothy Lotz.
I know he worked at Lembeck and Betz brewery, and at sometime in a cemetary.

Fred is pictured in the 43-D Class yearbook of aviation cadets at the Advanced Flying School at Moore Field in Mission, Texas. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.

Looking for info on the Hild family. The only info I have is Catherine Hild was born in Germany in April 1842 and came to New York. She married Adam Goetz in 1870 in New York. On Adam's Naturalization papers their is a Jacob Hild listed as a witness. Jacob lived at 9 James Street and was a farmer. I don't know if Jacob is Catherines's father or brother. Catherine and Adam had 5 children: Katherine 1871, Elizabeth 1874, Herman 1875, August 1876 and William 1881. Adam worked in a Saloon.

My grandfather was William "Billy" Hild of Quincy, Ill., they lived at 1810 Grove Street. I was born in 1938 at Blessing hospital Quincy, Ill. We later moved to Edina, Mo., my Dad was the IHC dealer there. Billy was a wonderful and loved member of the community, he used to take me to visit everyone he knew in his 1939 Chevrolet...he always hit something, not a great driver! They were good friends with Smitty @ Cuckoo Clock, also the Lincoln Douglas restaurant. As best I can remember he passed around 1948. I mostly remember they had lots of friends at the house and were a very fun loving group. My sister might add more, but he may not be a part of your family I don't recognize any of the names.

I have a photograph taken in 1916 of Mr. Arch S. Hild with my Grandfather. The photograph was taken in Mexico while they were soldiers with with the US Army in pursuit of Pancho Vilas.

My great grandfather Joseph Hild ,born abt 1842,immigrated from Germany abt 1869. He married Margurite Rosbach (Parcyzk) abt 1880 in either Springfield,IL or TN. They were parents to my grandfather Arthur J Hild who married Mattie May Cullins and lived in and around Shelby County, TN. Other children of Joseph may have been Otto and Clara Victoria.

I Probably have that same picture with the farmhouse and the family. I can scan the obits if you would like. I also have a Hild family picture album somewhere. My mother met Clara, Cecil and Rosco a number of years ago. I guess we are 3rd cousins. Hubert moved to Lakeview, Oregon and married Gladys Hamaker. He was a logger for a number of years and owned the Sharp Lumbar Company in Ashland, Oregon. He had two daughters- Barbara and Joyce. I am Barbara's daughter. My grandfather died in 1988. I am one of John Julius Hild's grandsons. I met some of his brothers and Clara but I'm not sure about Hubert. How do I get in contact with you regarding the Ottumwa pictures and obits? I have one of the family in front of the farmhouse. I'll check with my father John William Hild and see what else he may have.

By the way my brothers name is Michael Hild and my son's name is John Case Hild so he is the fifth John in a row.

Hi Carol- I am fairly new to the board and was puttering around in the Hilds. I saw your post regarding Michael Hild. I count 7 children for Michael and Catherine (John William, Louisa Catherine, Leonard, Catherine, Philip Jacob, Clara Catherine, Henry Michael) and 9 children for John William and Anna Marie (Cecil, Earl William, Hubert Henry, Catherine, Clara, Fred Edward, Willis, John Julius, Roscoe Ellis). My grandfather was Hubert Henry. I have copies of John's and Anna's obituarys as well as family pictures from Attumwa, Iowa including an interesting one of the farm house with the family in front. CARL LOUIS HILD, 91, of San Bernardino, died November 18, 2008, at Linda Valley Care Center, in Loma Linda. He was born December 11, 1916, in Del Rosa, California, and lived his entire life in San Bernardino. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl and Lena Lane Hild; and by his younger brothers, Frank and Fred. He graduated from San Bernardino High School, Class of 1935. In March 1942 he went to work at Victorville Army Airfield, later known as George Air Force Base. He had also worked one year at Firestone Tire Co. and five years at Nu-Way Supply. He worked as a Machinist at Valley Auto Supply in San Bernardino for 45 years, retiring in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean, of 59 years; a daughter, Jennifer Louise Snipes and her husband, Bruce of Tulsa, OK; granddaughters, Amber Snipes Stewart of Fayetteville, AR, and Tessa Snipes of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by his son, Alan James Hild and wife, Ruth Ann Marie and granddaughter, Alyssa Christine Hild of San Bernardino. Graveside Service: Tuesday, November 25, 2008, 11:00 A.M. at Mt. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Alzheimer's Assn. or Charter Hospice, 1012 E. Cooley Dr., Ste G, Colton, CA 92324.

Charles owned the Edgewater Laundry and Dry Cleaning on Broadway in Chicago.

Daugher Dorothy born 11/18/1912 died 11/20/1990 in VA

It appears they were in San Bernandino County, CA in 1956 and Wilma was there in 1958 according to the California Voter Registrations.

According to the California Death Index, there was a Roy Hild, b. 5 Jan 1904 in Oklahoma, d. 6 Jul 1958 in San Bernandino County, California. His mother's maiden name was Effenger. This would probably explain why he was no longer in the voter registrations.

Roy also appears to have enlisted in WWII on 9 Oct 1942 in Los Angeles, California. He was living in San Bernandino, CA, at the time. His civil employment was an automobile serviceman. He was married. According to the U.S. WWII Army Enlistment Records, he was 70 inches tall (5-10) and weighed 164.

I have a family tree that places Conrad (B. 1911) as my gggrandfather listing his wife as Virginia (not Regina?) Plough. Conrad's son William is my ggrand and his son Roy Joseph is my Grand by his second marriage. The tree actually goes back before Conrad through Virginia Plough to Weitzel so I don't have the earlier Hilds and would love to have anyting others have found.

There's a great website called www.familytreedna.com. That's the website of a place that does a lot of the testing. Unfortunately, it works on guys, not on women because it tests they Y chomosome which is only passed down through the male line. So, we women are on the outside looking in, but can generally ride on the coattails of a male relative with the Hild surname. It's been very interesting...I don't have the website because I'm not an administrator through familytreedna.

If it is the same Conrad, He was born 11 Jun 1811 in Hesse Germany. His wife was Regina Plough born 01 Apr 1819 in Hesse German. The had another child, David in Aug 1844.

My line goes from Conrad Hild born in Hessey Germany-David Hild bourn in Illionois in 1844-Robert Lincoln Hild born in Iowa-to Robert Lloyed hild born in Oklahoma. He was my grandfather. I then have all the information on their spouses and their children.

John Adolph Hild's sister was Katty and she married Albert Kiehl.

Do you have any histry on their parents Micheal Adolph and Teressia Machiel Heinal Hild? I believe Katty was 65 in 1930.
