HINKLEs in Rowan Co., NC, and Belmont Co., OH

My maiden name is HINKLE, and I would really like to get my line beyond North Carolina in 1782 when a George HINKLE's 3 sons were apprenticed: George, Henry, and Jacob. I descend from Henry, his son John, John's son Ebenezer, etc. My HINKLE line went from Rowan Co., NC, to Union Co., IL, and eventually to Belmont Co., OH, in 1920. DNA testing shows that I am somehow related to a Christopher HINKLE was b. 1777 in PA and moved to Belmont Co., OH, in 1804. There is also a probably connection to Philip and Leonard HINCKEL who arrived in PA in 1749. And to Joseph HINKLE who was killed at Covalt Station (Cincinnati area) in 1792. Does anyone have any information on any of these lines?

It would really be a big help if all males who still have the HINKLE surname would take a DNA test. You can see the current results at:
www.familytreedna.com/public/Henckel/index.aspx?fixed_column... .

My line is NOT connected to the Rev. Anthony Jacob HENCKEL.
Pat Shemenski
This message will be deleted once the auction is completed. If you object to this posting, please let me know by private e-mail.

I have a Anna Hinckle married to John Adam Gilger. Their daughter Katherine married Frederick Dimmick abt 1814, so the extrapolated birth range for Anna would be abt 1760. Both the Hinckles and Dimmick's seem to have originated in Germany and settled in PA, so I suspect there's a connect to your Hinckle here somewhere.

GA
