I do not know anything about the Hine family and was searching for the unknown Hine husband of Erleen Fariss.

Erleen's maiden name was Fariss (check spelling), daughter of Earl Edward Fariss and Minnie Temp Whitley Fariss Carson, sister of Juanita Marie Fariss Smith whose obituary lists Erleen. Data can be found in findagrave.

I would love to have a copy of Erleen's obituary if you have a way to send or post.

I have traced my family back to William Hine, one of the pioneers of Colchester vt. He had three sons, Simeon, Hezekiah, and Isreal. I have not been able to get back any further than that. I have been trying to make a connection to the Thomas Hine family in Milford ct., but have not had any luck. If anyone has any information that may help me I would appreciate it.

I am trying to determine if my Charles Hine b 1791-1796 and living his adult life as a gardener in Battersea/Wandsworth, Surrey, England is the son of Henry Hine and Hannah Luckett of Moreton in Marsh. Do you know of anyone that is particularly following this family who might know of the fate of Charles christened in Moreton in Marsh Jan 27, 1794 or of a will for Henry Hine? I have no solid proof to form the link, only suspicions. Thanks

I have Hine family that come from Kimpton, Hertfordshire James Hine 1786 m Mary Hall they had 6 children Emila 1809-1819, Sarah 1812, William 1813, John 1817 (my GGGGrandad), Emma 1821 & Bethia 1824. Don't know if there related to your Hine Line or not there seemed to be alot of Hine's around that area that were Farmers.

Ann, I am glad to hear from you. I guessed this was Fred's sister. We are connected for sure. I do have one concern though, Fred died before I grauated, so it was not him that sent you the photo of my graduation. Do you still have this photo? Could you send to me so I can verify it is me. Yes, I am now connected through Ancestry, I signed up again the other day. I would like permission to view your ancestry site if possible. can you give me access and could you please send me some photos of fredrick hine (my grandad). Just to verify that you are the person you say you are, can you please tell me what Fred's wife's name was.

Hello Lisa,

My mother's name was Winifred Irene Hine born 29.4.1908 in Brighton, Sussex, and died 6.2.1990. She married Norman Harradance Cornell on 18.5.1936 in Minehead, Somerset.
I guessed you were John's daughter as I have a very nice photo of you taken at the time of your graduation which Fred sent to us.
Are you actually subscribed to Ancestry? as I think it would be better if we continued this exchange of info. via the contact member system to go into more detail.

Ann, I have been searching what seems like forever. My dad John Kevin Hine (Frederick Charles Hine's son) passed away a couple of years ago at age 63. My father and uncle did not talk much about his Fred's history (family secret?) Anyway, going through my father's things I came across a Henry Hine (Henry Griffth Hine's father) death certificate. This has led me on a journey to complete the family tree. Through my search I found out that Fred had a sister who was born in England a few years older than him, nobody knew of her (this is your mom, I am assuming) What was her name, I am curious to see if I was correct. In my baby book, henry griffth hine and annie maria ealy were listed as my great grandparents. If the connection is right, which I think it is...you would be my ? not sure. I am Frederick Charles Hine's grandaughter. I have much to share with you. Lots of photos of Frederick, some of Henry Hine your grandparent and another photo from the 1800's that I cannot identify, perhaps you could help. Again, could you please let me know if the connection is right, and whom your mother's name was.

Ann, I have been searching so long for some information. My dad John Kevin Hine was the son of Frederick Charles Hine. My father passed away a couple of years ago. Can you tell me your mother's name. I think we definetley have a connection. I want to make sure that I was correct. My father and uncle never gave me any information on the family. They said that Fred did not get along with family and left for the war (enlisted). I have lots of pictures of Fred, some of Henry Griffth Hine. I have not joined ancestry in awhile, but will be. Can you give me more information.

Hello - I can certainly help fill the gaps in your tree. Henry Griffith Hine & Annie Maria Ealey were my grandparents and Frederick Charles Hine was my mother's brother. Before going into more detail perhaps you could tell me your name and where you fit in.

He did not have much contact with his father's family but was told that he has an older half-sister whose name was either Mary Hine or Gail Hine. She would have been born prior to 1952. I'm really confused. What was Oran's father's real name? I see 11 people in the 1930 Census with a Hine surname that were living in Indianapolis but no Oran or Gene. I need a little more to go on.

My husband Jim and I went all thru grade school with Gene - he lived next door to me on Asbury St,Indpls, Ind. Jim and Gene went thru Hi School. They went into service at the same time - I think it was a second marriage for Gene's mom. I remember Erleen telling me that Gene died of the same disease as his father, who was a WWI vet. It was some sort of lung problem. Gene and Erleen and Sterling visited us in Indpls when Sterling was a little guy (he gave me German measles!) Ck 1930 Census for his mom & husband living at 1640 something Asbury St. My maiden name was Hoeferkamp so we lived at 1642. I can't remember his mom's name. We always called him "Gene" - not Oran.

Hi, I am researching my husband's family who were Hine/Hinde from Meerbrook, Staffs.
I have gone back to Thomas Hinde of Pye Clough who died in 1689 but have many gaps and some of it needs verifying. However I am sure of my husband's great grandfather being George Hine and his wife Mary Jane and of their relations.

Kathaleen (Kay) Elizabeth Folk Hine of Parrish, FL

Kathaleen (Kay) Elizabeth Folk Hine b. 1920 was originally from Ohio and was the 3rd wife of Gilbert Charles Hine b. 1918. They married in Jesup, GA in May 17, 1959 while he was in the Navy. He was a Chief Warrant Officer and stationed at Charleston, SC. His wife, "Kathleen E Sessor", was from Warsaw, Ohio. They resided in N Charleston, SC until he retired in Jan 1960, when they moved to Florida where his family was from.

They lived on the H Double Bar Ranch in Parrish, FL and had foster children for many years. Kay also had children from previous marriages-Ronald A. Frost, Cheryl Sessor, Tommy Ford, and Betty Jane Ford.

Kay and Gilbert Hine adopted 2 sons, Gilbert Charles (Charlie) Hine, Jr and John David Hine.

In Jan 1972, the Manatee County Sheriff's Department received a report that Kay Hine was suddenly missing and has never been located.

This is from the information posted on their website:
"Missing : Kathaleen Elizabeth Hine AKA "Kay".
Sex: Female, Race: White, DOB: August 29th, 1920, Height: 5' 3", Weight: 125, Hair: Brown, Eyes: Brown.

Details: Husband allegedly dropped her off at Manatee County Fairgrounds where she was a committee member, however, a witness/co-worker at the fair said she never arrived that morning. At the time of her disappearance, Mrs. Hine was 51 YOA, 5'3", 125#, brown hair & eyes, light complexion, and wore a size 4-5 shoe. She had a deep small pox vaccination scar on her left upper arm and a vertical Cesarean Section scar on the abdomen.

She wore prescription glasses and wore wigs due to a medical condition. She was LSW a dark-colored sweater, light blue jeans, a plain gold wedding band and a watch with a black band/strap.

Hine is the mother of five children. She left behind dozens of pet animals, her purse, her glasses and medicine. Foul play is suspected.

Hine family of Manatee County, FL also had property in Texas for a few generations. Originating in PA, some migrated to different parts of the country.

Simon Hein (Hine) b. 1750 PA and Eva Barbara Miller b. 1762 PA had 13 children: 7 sons and 6 daughters.

Their son Peter Hine b. 1805 Westmoreland Co., PA and Margaret Shoemaker b. 1812 PA had 6 sons and 4 daughters-Luther, Louisa, Margaret Melissa, Charlotte Elizabeth, Catherine, Miller Jacob, Benjamin Franklin, William Penn, Peter Simon, and Martin Luther Hine.

Miller Jacob Hine b. 1841 PA d. 1920 Manatee Co., FL and Elizabeth Ann Siddall b. 1840 had 4 sons and 2 daughters-William, James, Mary L., Leslie Lee, Charles Miller, and Ruth.

One of their sons, Charles Miller Hine b. 1877, married Emma Catherine Rye b. 1882 FL (dau of Erasmus Rye b. 1833 who settled Rye, Manatee County, FL). They had 4 sons and 1 daughter-Ralph M., Ward William, Eva L., Clyde W., and Gilbert Charles Hine. They lived in what had been Rye (Mitchellville), FL and Parrish, FL of Manatee County.

I'm trying to connect Oran to the Hine family tree by learning who his parents were; Oran was born 16 Aug 1922 and died 14 Jul 1982 in Tom Green County TX. In 1966 Oran & Erleen were living in Garland TX. I have Erleen's obituary, their daughter's (Karen Ann Hine) marriage announcement and know of a son, Sterling Hine, of Aubrey TX.

i dont know anything about HINE in America. I do know the ones i am hunting were tilers and slatters. They where and posssibly still are living in different parts of England.My sisster in law's name is spelt Jennie after a reletive there is also a crazy Hench possible with relatives in France.Most of them were sailors,recent ones in the royal marines.Some of them live somthing on march,owned a large farm.My father in law speaches of it often.He married Catherine who was a nurse after doing service moved to the North Shore Sydney,Australia.They had two children Stephen and Jennie.Stephen has 9 children to Christine.Jennie has two daughters to her first marriage and one of each too her secound marriage.Stephen and family live in Queensland Jennie lives in New South Wales. Jennie put thier father known as Jim in a home in N.S.W. His name is WILLIAM JAMES. Thier mother is dead.

I hope ppl see this, it has been awhile. I am related to Thomas Hine who came here from England and settled in Milford, New Haven, CT. He married Elizabeth Lane and had 9 children that I have found. I am having the hardest time finding where he was born and who were his parents! None of the records I have found are complete enough to give me enough information to go further. My sisters and I are the end of the line here. My father passed away in July so now I am on my own in this search. Any help you can offer would be so greatly appreciated!! Willard emigrated to England after WW1 and married Devina Georgeson in 1919.

CANNOT FIND ANYTHING ON ANCESTRY.CA WITH REGARDS TO THESE PEOPLE OTHER THAN A BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR FREDERICK CHARLES HINE, TRYING TO FIND OUT IF HE HAD ANY SIBLINGS, BORN IN 1914 IN EASTBOURNE, ENGLAND. KNOW LITTLE ABOUT PARENTS AS WELL. DID THEY STAY IN ENLGAND? DID THEY PUT FRED UP FOR ADOPTION, DID THEY HAVE OTHER CHILDREN, DID THEY EMIGRATE TO CANADA. IT IS A MYSTERY. Hello Peter: My name is Dennis Hine, I live in Costa Rica, Central America. I have worked over the Hine family tree and the first person I've found was Thomas Hine in Connecticud, USA, 1621 - 1698. He married Elizabeth Lane (1623 - 1673). I found some information regarding the last name Hine as coming from UK to USA before 1550.

Your uncles parents are names I know well.I beleive they were my grandmothers (Lucy anne Hine) grandparents, or perhaps parents.? they wouldve died in 60's or 70's when i was very young.

He was the son of Mary Flood Hine & John Hine. Can't seem to find any information about him after 1920. In 1920 he is living in Ansonia on Jackson Street as a boarder. I am told that he may have moved to New Haven CT and married a school teacher. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking info on Elizabeth Hine - maiden name unknown. 1850 census for Covert, Seneca Co., NY shows Elizabeth, age 77, living in the household of Esq. Hine (Squire?), age 37. Also living in the house is Mary Ann, age 27; Malissa, age 8; Louisa, 6; Joseph, 5; Maria, 54; Anna, 50; and Nathaniel, 32. All born in NY. Is Elizabeth the mother of Squire, Maria, Anna and Nathaniel? Is she a widow? Who was her husband? Any info greatly appreciated.

B(J?)(Thomas)Phillips prob (Benjamin) married Mary Ann Hine sometime around 1900 ish in Hastings and deffo had Benjamin A Phillips in 1913 in Kent

Have you looked on 1911 census for them?
I assume you have the birth cert for the son. If so have you got the address, they could be on the voter? list for then.
Do you have a name for the other child you mentioned in your post?
Mary could have been married before and would have used the married name to get married with so that could be a possiblity for the lack of seeing a marriage between them.
Do you know of B Phillips occupation?
Sorry to barrage you with questions but it can be difficult when there isn't much to go on but sometimes the littlest thing can spark a light.
