Do you have access to search on Ancestry? Look at the 1930 Census for Sheboygan, WI. If David was a plumber, I believe that's him. There is also a WWI Draft Registration card that indicates he was born in Minnesota, and he can be traced back to the 1895 MN census as living with his parents, Jacob (a carpenter), born in OH, and his mother, Matilda. It looks like he moved to WI in about 1920 and he and a sister were living with a brother-in-law in Sheboygan.

I can't guarantee that's your guy, as I haven't checked any birth/death, etc., records and I hunt for all of that to back up my findings.

If you can't access Ancestry, send me your email address and I will forward the info to you.

Linda
l3k2000@yahoo.com

Thank you alot for looking this information for me. From what I have talked to my father about his grandfather and it seems like there is another David Holler. What he has told me about his grandfather, David was not married to a Barbara Becker, though he can not recall the name of his spouce. Also, he has told me that his David had five children, Patricia, Janice, Richard, Robert, and Arden. Arden which is my grandfather's name or my dad's dad. My father did thought the times and dates should be around there. But thank you for taking the time to help me find out more information about my family. If you still want to investigate this further I would love the information.

Do you have any info on your Catherine Holler? I'm trying to find my gr gr grandmother Catherine Hollar/Holler. She was probably born in 1821 in Ohio. Married Henley Thomas in Grant Co, Indiana and they had one son Henley Snead Thomas. By 1860, Henley has married his 3rd wife---not sure when, but they are listed in the census for St. Joseph Co, Michigan. Would appreciate any help. Have been hunting for her over 30 years!!!!! Thanks. My email is mamaw134947@yahoo.com

I have changed me email. It is mamaw134947@yahoo.com I'm still trying to find my gr gr grandmother Catherine Hollar/Holler who married Henley Thomas in 1849. They are listed in the 1850 census of Grant County, Indiana with their month old son Henley Snead Thomas. This census lists her as 29 years old and being born in Ohio. That puts her birth date at around 1821. Would like to find her parents and other descendents. By 1860 census in St. Joseph Co, Michigan, Henley has married his 3rd wife. He has family in Michigan. There is a family cemetary in Cass Co, Michigan and his father and other family members are buried. They were Quaker and this was on Quaker land. There are only 5 headstones and evidence of other graves. Usually, Quakers marked a grave with a pile of stones. Catherine may be buried there. She had only one child unless she and a baby died in childbirth. Any info would be appreciated.
Hello,
My name is Harriet Lohr (maiden name) and my grandmother was Mary Lillian Holler Lohr. Her sister was your great grandmother. I am just beginning to look into this side of my family. If you have a family tree or anything I could see, I would be thrilled. I have three surviving aunts who are the children of Mary Lillian. I met her sister, Harriet, who would be my grand aunt, I guess back in the 1950's or early 60's. Again, greetings distant cousin.
Harriet Lohr Feagin

I'm sorry I haven't responded to your earlier post, but life got in the way and I've had to put my hobby on hold until now.

I just did a quick search in Ancestry and see that your David apparently was born in Minnesota and had a wife named Augusta. I honestly don't think we are talking about the same David Holler. There are 4 David Hollers (that I am aware of) in my family, and they were either born in Germany or Milwaukee. Once they came to Milwaukee, they didn't move far from the area, and I am pretty sure of that from census and real estate records. None of them had a son named Arden; nor did any have daughters with the names of his sisters. None of them had a wife named Augusta.

I do know, from my research, there were a lot of Hollers in the Sheboygan area. But to the best of my knowledge, I am not related to them.

I'm not aware of a family crest.

I know I wrote you awhile ago about this, and I am sorry that I am just getting back to see this but the other information I should have said earlier was that David's son Arden was born in Sheboygan WI. Not sure if David was born there as well but I knew he lived there at some point. I tried asking Arden (my Grandpa) before he past and he would not talk about the history of the Holler's. It is some what taboo to talk about it.
And if you know any information about the Holler family crest? I been looking online for it but every site I go to shows something different.

He had as many as 14 children, all of whom I would like to more about. Nobody seems to know his parentage although the Catawba Valley, NC has many good records on the Hollar family.
The family of Jonas A.
Hello,
Yes, you certainly do remember well. My grandparents were pure Pennsylvania "Dutch." All of their ancestors came from Germany in the late 1600's/early 1700's, even numerous of their gravestones were written in the German language. My grandmother thought that her lineage was from Holland, because they were PA Dutch. Dutch folks were from Holland, she thought. My grandfather would call us "you little Dutch kids." I never knew what he meant until I began researching family history about 35 years ago in high school. It was then I realized that my grandparents heritage was German and we were, indeed, little "Deutsch" kids. Deutsch means German, Deutschland is the land of Germany. Eilene

He was a druggist and as far as I can tell never married as his obituary does not mention a wife or children. He was my great uncle - brother to my great grandmother Nellie Holler.
Anyone who may have information please let me know as I am sure this photo is one of the Holler brothers, but I am trying to determine which one.
Please feel free to email me at angisfamilytree@hotmail.com if you have any information.
Thanks.

I am looking for information on Elizabeth Holler; she is my 3g-grandmother born abt 1850's in the British West Indies and had a son William Henry Stewart, Jr. She may not have been married to William Henry Stewart, Sr. who was a surgeon in the British Royal Navy. She did migrate to Mount Vernon, New York in the late 1800's.

I am a Holler. But none of your names look familar. My husband was Kenneth Holler. His line of Holler's came from Hickory NC. They lived in Akron Ohio. My husband's family orignally came from Germany. There are a lot of Holler people. I now live in Columbia SC. It is kind of odd, the names in your tree are a lot like my husband's family. His sister Kay's middle name is Gloria and he also has a sister named Linda. My husband passed away in 1994. I move several times after he passed. I now am in Columbia SC. It is about 1 hour below Hickory NC. I will look up your tree and see if I can find anything on the family. Have fun searching. Pat Holler

It was great to read your post. And I think we are definitely related. My ggrandfather was also John Holler and "Viney" was my great aunt. My grandfather was Sylvenas Holler and my mother was Delores (Biddy) Holler from Cloverton, MN. Sound familiar? I am trying to find out more about the family tree, too, and I couldn't get farther than George A. Holler (1820, Ohio)until I read the posts at this site. Would love to correspond with you. Please feel free to write me at tnj3@cox.net or at cema21@cox.net. I am also on Facebook. The index refers to many John Holler/Hollars as well as George and many of the other names you mention. If you aren't familiar with this book your library probably has a copy. Or go to the several Haller/Holler mailing lists on line.

Vicki,
Ok, I'm curious to know just how you are related to the Holler's of Indiana. My name is Lori Carter Glass and
Cleve Holler was my great grandfather on my mother's side of the family. My grandfather was Charles "Jack" Holler who married Delores Ice. They live all their married life in Alexandria. Get back with me, I am more than willing to share what I have found with the help of a cousin.
Anxiously waiting,

Lori Carter Glass
