Hi Karol ~ I'm researching my husband's family. He has a great grandfather (Jacob Homa) from Birthowice, Poland. He came to the States in 1910. I'm looking for information on his parents. Is their any relation? ~ Angie

I am searching for information on my husband's family. His grandfather, Theodore Homa, was born to Jacob Homa and Mary Ptasnik. Both from Poland and settled in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois around 1910. I have been unable to locate Jacob's death record. From stories I've been told he passed away around 1930 (give or take a few years). Does anyone have any information they can share?

HI Homas! I am researching my last name. which is O'HazzA with an A. and as Ive been doing research Ive learned at some point the A was an O. long story short, through my research Ive come across this thread. The OhazzOs are from beaver Meadows and while searching census reports I have come across the Homas as neighbors as well! I was hoping you could tell me the first name and any other details you may have on your fathers mother. all would be greatly appreciated... there are few of us left with very little knowledge! Also my grandmother's maiden name was Mikulak from Komlosa, Austria/Hungary born 1891. There were eight brothers and sisters. Mary's mother was Paraska Mikulak and her father was Dimitri Homa. They had four children (three girls and one sone named Walter.

My aunt was a Helen Homa, but there was no sister Julia or brother andrew. However there were 7 children in the family. From St. Clair/Pottsville PA area. Could this be the same person?

I know my background originates in Poland and that my ancestors migrated to Chicago at some point around the 50's. My grandfather is Richard Homa and my great grandfather of whom I never met carried the nick name the Judge I believe. If anyone can help reply.

This is funny because all my family's story's are lining up. My great grandfather moved here from Poland and most of my family originates from the midwest, namely Chicago! He your nephew was part of a large family he most likely is either my dad or an uncle of mine! Get me a name and I'll try and help you to find him.

I am Jamie's (John J. Murphy's) brother. My full name is Eugene Nicholas Murphy, Jr. There are too many Eugene Murphys around, so the "Nick" made it easier to get an email address that looks close to my name.
Saw Jamie two weeks ago on his return trip from Ft. Campbell, KY where he was visiting his son, Jimmy, and family. Jimmy is a West Point grad and has just returned from his fourth combat tour. Jim saw enough combat to earn a Combat Infantry Badge and a Bronze Star. He transferred from Infantry to the Chaplain Corps and is now with the 5th Special forces at Fort Campbell.

Sheila's daughter Debbie has done extensive research into our family history. She even has Pete's papers from Ellis Island!
I got the info from her.
She even has info on your Grandmother's heritage.

Dialed in Mary Homa's name and came upon your four-year-old posting re the Homa family. I never knew Peter was from Mikova; I was told he was from Vienna.
I'm Peter's oldest grandchild and I believe my brother, John, J. Murphy, is the next in line. My mother, Helen, got married before WWII and beat all of her siblings in the baby making game. For the rest of them, the war delayed marriage and family building.

Have you managed to fill in the family tree? I took a run at it but got sidetracked by work.

My grandmother was Kathryn Homa, born in Poland about 1879. She and my grandfather first settled in Utica, New York and later moved to Muskegon, Michigan. I believe the family was aquainted with the John Homa family. Wonder if Kathryn and John had ties in Poland???? Did John Homa work at Scott Tjapkes Grocery Store in Muskegon?

We are trying to local your Moms sisters. If you could ask here if she know there married names and where they are. Also would like to know of Michael her brother ever married and had a family. We know he has passed away. Any help would be appreciaed. Thanks again. Her step father Michael passed away in 1954 and her Mom in 1963. They are buried in St. Mary Cemetery, Dickson City, Pa.

My Great Grandmother Polly married William Ira Lemuel Rogers in the late 1870's im Mississippi and lived in Sumner and Greenwood, MS After he died in 1909 she married a Mr. Faggert and Mr. Baas (Bass), who she was married to when she died in 1950. She had six children by Mr. Rogers. Any help will be appreciated.

This is Jim's wife Lori, and yes he is Honey's brother. He hasn't seen Guy Micheal for years. I did'nt ask Jim but I don't know if he was at Honey's funeral. You'd have to ask Micheal(Tapey) Homa. He might know. He lives in Brigeview.

Looking for any info For William Homa born Aug. 9, !917 I believe in Philadelphia, Pa. He Married Rose Bochonok. They Had 4 sons, James and Thomas are still alive. Joseph passed away a few years ago and the 4th son died at 5 months. Not in that order. William had died in 1983. Any info would be very appreciated.

My greatgrandfather was a John Homa is father was Michael Homa. John was born in Vola, Zemplen, Czech on February 28, 1882. He emmigrated to Pittsburgh, Pa. I also know that John had a brother George who lived in Ohio he was born March 1875. I don't know if there was any other sibblings.

Louise, I do believe this is the Homa Family we have been looking for. Although Anna had 3 daughters, Delores (known as Tootsie) Teresa and her first born - Margaret (the oldest)then a son michael. My grandmother Anna Homa came from Hungary in 1905 Her father was Andrew Homa and her mother was Susanna Prugneir. My grandmother came from Hungary on the ship Slovania. She lived in the town of Magyar, Hungary. Any info or feed back would be appreciated. Her ship doicked into New York Harbor on Aug. 20, 1905. She was 19 years old and supposedly came with a friend name unknown.

He lived in chicago for most of his life and moved to Bakersfield Ca, to be with his son (my father). He died in nevada with his mistress.
