..about the same as you sandy...i feel it will be a must in future...but for now not enough have done it i recon....because like you i have not had any luck with a link...and i too found it strange that i could get a hit with close numbers, but when compare trees, no connection...but for sure i dont understand much of how the dna test works...so figure my matches are cousins, just too far back to see how as of yet...and its some what a little disapointing now, but still feel good i did it for the future researches to have the markers...kinda like how it would have been nice if back in days of old there were more "for sure" data, like how some familys had the records recorded in bibles right when they happened...as compared to most who have to search vague and missing records...anyways good luck on your tree..michael...

Hi Michael,

My Hoover Dna turned out to be R1a. I have a very good 36/37 marker match but I have never been able to find our common ancestor. I still think DNA will prove to be the right way to go but it has been disappointing so far. My Hoovers are from PA to Ohio to IN. My donor has since passed so I don't know if I can upgrade to the more detailed test. How are you doing with it?
Sandy Hoover Dorsey

I am looking for Charles "Johnny" Hoover. He is my Great Grandfather. He listed his birth date as 1901 in Indiana. He was living in Santa Barbara, CA in 1931 and employed as a baker. He may have been married before that and had 2 boys. My Great Aunt was born in Santa Barbara in 1931. My Great Grandmother's name was Emily Elizabeth Griffin. My Grandmother was born in 1933 in Colorado Springs, CO. We believe he moved with the family there and was gone by 1935-36. If you have any information that would be great. Here is a picture of him.

Not sure of the answer to your question. My Johannes Huber was born 22 Apr 1731 in Trippstadt, Palatinate, Germany. He dies Sep 1784 in Hanover Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In 1760 he married Elizabeth and they had seven children, the oldest of which was Catherine, born 1764. I do not know who Catherine married nor if she ever married.

Looking for info on James Hoover. He was born somewhere around 1880 in Ohio. I do not have any info on him as far as parents. He married Lucy Elizabeth Rayl (b. 1882) and had a son, Richard T. Hoover (my gf). A 1910 census from Richland,Belmont, Ohio showed Lucy and son, Richard, living with her parents and Lucy is a widow. Lucy's parents were Samuel A. and Jennie Rayl. Richard T. Hoover was born 1902 in Ohio. Richard T. Hoover married Ama Mae Jones and had 3 children: Edna Elizabeth, Richard C. and Edward.

Moyer or Myers D. Hoover of Lancaster county, Pa

A SAD BEREAVEMENT - Mr. Myers D. Hoover, of Ephrata, has been very sadly bereaved within the last three months, having lost by death his wife and four children during that short period of time. First a child died, about 3 years of age, next, on the Fourth of July, while there was general rejoicing throughout our land, death came and took away the beloved wife and mother. On the 31st of July, a son in the 8th year of his age was summoned hence, on the 10th inst, a daughter in her 10th year was called, and on the 17th inst death came again and carried off another daughter in her 12th year. The first child died of measles; the mother of consumption, and the last three of diphtheria. The mother was a sister to E G Groff, esq, of this place.......

From the New Holland Clarion of Saturday, August 19, 1876.
