Hi All,
1/. Looking for info on CHARLES J HORSINGTON, b Sept 22, 1876, NY born of two English parents. Died Dec 9, 1957 in Skaneateles. I have his life from around 1910 onwards - looking for the earlier detail.
2/. Also ALICE L HORSINGTON, b circa 1869 in NY of two English parents ARTHUR and JANE. Some life detail known but not birth or death.
Believe the above may be related (possibly via Somerset county in England) though they occur in two separate lines I am researching.
Thanks,
Tom.

Dear Ted Hoisington
(I swallow fast every time I see your name because
it is the name of a dear uncle of mine who
died April 17, 1997, age 84:
Theodore Roosevelt Hoisington.)
Harry Hoisington's book "The American Family Hoisington" in
manuscript is in several libraries: The New England
Historic Genealogical Society Library, 101 Newbury St.,
Boston, Mass 02116 as well as the Newberry Library,
Chicago, Ill, and the Los Angeles Public Library.
It can be purchased from the Higginson Book Co.,
148 Washington St., PO Box 778, Salem, Mass. 01970,
phone (978)745-8025. It is 189 pages long and
includes listings of 605 Hoisington descendants
up to about 1935.
The Fred Q.Bowman article, "John Horsington of New
England" appeared in the NE Historic Genealogical
Society Register, January 1987, pages 38 to 55.
If you like, I can xerox the Bowman article and
mail it to you if you give me your postal address.
It is only 9 copy-pages. It is well worth it, both
these sources are essential for Hoisington researchers.

Maida Barton Follini [John Horsington 1, John Horsington 2
James Hoisington 3, Job Hoisington 4, Henry Richard H. 5,
Henry Richard H. 6, Frederick R.
I don't know much about my family name or history. I was born in South Dakota like my brother and sisters. My grandparents lived there along with my uncles and aunt. My grandfather's name was Harley H. Hoisington, Marrietta was my grandmother, my uncles are Harley and Kent, my aunt is Ruth, my father is Roger. I would be sincerely grateful if you could send me information about this.

I'm not sure if this is any help, but I know some of my ancestors moved from the east to destinations such as Michigan(where I reside currently), Missouri, and Kansas, where I understand that some of them started the town of Hoisington. My sister lives in South Dakota, and she has researched for 2 or 3 years now on our family tree. She told me by Christmas time she'll be sending me information of our ancestors dated as far back as 1640. This is very interesting and educational, and I can't wait! If I run across any more information of the Hoisington surname, I'll be more than happy to send it to you. Thank You
