Hi Eldon. I am your cousin, Dan, in Fredericton. I have a copy of the Horsman geneology that was done years ago. When I was in England a couple of years ago, I did some research at the registry office for Yorkshire but I was not able to find any information on the John Horsman who was supposed to be the father of William and grand-father of Christopher.
I was surprised to see that you have geenological info that goes back much further. I would really appreciate getting a copy of that information.

Believe William Lee's father was Samual Horsman born June 27, 1837 maybe in Tenn or Ky and his father was Willianm S Horsman born 1815 born in Ky.

I am trying to verify if one of the Horsman daughters or grandaughters married Solomon Trites around 1797 in Nova Scotia, now New Brunswick. Any indication of such a marriage?

The only known child of this marriage is Solomon Melvin Trites born 1817. This son is my ggg grandfather.

Amanda.....Christopher came to Canada from Yorkshire in 1767. I have traced the Horsmans back to the late 1490s in Ripon but I would be interested to know any details about Ages Le Horsman in 1273.

my father was george Horsman Born 1896 he had twin brother Jim my father migrated to Adelaide South Australia from England i had my family name history done in 1991 in Sydney Australia and traced back to Agnes Le Horsman 1273 and Christopher Horsman 1775

I am a child of Alfred Varley Horsman, Jr., my aunt Betty who married Thomas Heffner and lived and died in Northfield, IL. I have subsequently located the house in Winnetka my father was born in but know little about my grandfather. My father died 21yrs. I would be interested in knowing more about both my grandfather and grandmother. I have their original marriage certificate but know very little history.

Looking for anyone with information about Alfred Varley Horsman (b 1878 in England, d 1957 in Illinois, USA) and his wife Florenc Baker (b 1884, d 1973). They had two children Aldred Varley Horsman Jnr and Betty Horsman, both born in Illinois, USA.

Surviving male generations continued with Varley as a middle name.

My last name is spelled with an "o" instead of an "a", Horsmon. I know my family is basically from calvert county Maryland. My problem is once I get to my Granpa Leo, every search stops spelling our name Horsmon and changes it to Horsman. Hi Neil. The name is strongly connected with West Yorkshire. I think the straight forward explanation that it derives from a person that worked with horses is the most likely. Hengist (stallion) and Horsa were the supposed founders of the Anglo Saxon presence in Britain - they revered the horse - whether this has some bearing on the name I don't know but it shows the Anglo Saxon origins of the name. Another (LESS BELIEVABLE)theory i READ WAS THAT THE NAME REFERS TO Viking oarsmen - the men who rowed the boats that brought the Vikings to Britain - worth looking into. Thats about all I know, I'd be interested to know if you had any other ideas.

I am researching the Horsmans from Gargrave North Yorkshire - so again - if you hear anything about them in your searching I'd be happy to know.

I am hoping to contact a New Brunswick Horsman family genealogist to confirm something I read in World Tree. Timothy Horsman, son of Timothy Horsman and Rachel Somers, born 1838 in New Brunswick, broke his leg, never saw a doctor and had one leg four inches shorter than the other the rest of his life. Hi, I am related to the Horsman's. My great grandmother was a half sister of Henry F through Samuels first marriage. For years I have had a Christmas card sent to my Great grandmother from Lura, Henry's wife, with her picture in it. This card is like really old. Anyway my gr-grandma always refered to Henry F as Frank. So needless to say I have been looking for a Frank Horsman for years to I could return the photo to the appropriate family. My Grandfathers name was Perry Horsman he lived in Spryfield but I think he was originally from Moncton he is buried in the cemetary in Halifax Across from Steele ford lincoln can't remember the name but will ask mom when I get home next week

I am looking for information on a Perry Horsman of Moncton NB. He married my Grandmother Mae Gorden Mellish in Lewisville Westmorland county NB in 1930. They had a son Perry who died in 1932. My mom Eleanor June Horsman was born on April 29 1933.I believe Perry and Mae divorced shortly after that. My mom has had no contact with her father since very early childhood. My mother went on to marry my dad Joseph Whelan in 1952 . I would be very interested to have any information on Perry Horsman.

She was born in Sargeant, Minn., Oct. 24, 1939, to Theodore and Beulah Lee.

She spent her childhood in Austin. Minn. On April 2, 1961, she married Clair Horsman and lived in Spring Valley, Minn. In 1992, she and her husband moved to Southern Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, and a sister.

Cremation was through Charles Anthony’s Royal Gorge Crematory in Florence.

buried with a daughter in the same cemtery etc....
I do not have him marring into indian or black culture, nor do I have him
married at this time more than once. I have a small file on the Horsman

My name is Amanda Horsman, I live in Sacramento California. Samuel H. Horsman is my great great grandfather. I know one wife of his was an Margaret A. Horsman. At another time he had also married a Ann Youngblood. They did live in Westplains, Mo. I will try to find out anything about a Katie Ross.

My Great grandfather was George Henry Horsman, son of John, born 12/22/1862 in Montreal and died 12/14/1955 in Schnectady, NY His wife was Catherine Gray. They had several children, one son was named George Gordon Horsman. b 8/25/1889 (known as Gordon) . He died in 1977 in Schenectady, NY.

I am interested in your samuel H I have docuemts that put my g aunt Katie in his house . but I don't know if she is working for him or married him?
do you know who his wife was ?
if he married a katie ross , then was he triracial native / maybe a little black it looks like and white ?
if he was her husband , well then I have a picture of Katie's husband, but I don't know what his name is , I think I have pictures of her daughter and a grandchild maybe too .
but like I said I don't know if she married this samuel or not . but she is living in his household in 1908. it says in westplain howell co MO.
do you know anything about this samuels' family?
