I am looking for connections to a tree member, Alfred HOWELLS. Born in Stockton-on-Tees, England in 1881, he married Ida LINKE in May, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was living and working Pittsburgh, PA in 1942 but no other record of his whereabouts or activity after that time. Namely concerned about children and his family line since 1942.

This will be a bit of a long shot for you, but 'Watkin' is a family name for my 'Phillips' side. They were based in Glamorgan, mainly around Gelligaer, my G'father was William Watkin, my G.G. G/father was Llewellyn, and my G.G.G. G'father was Watkin Phillips. I know Watkin's name got passed down to the 'Yorath' family, and I was wondering if one of 'Watkin's' female daughters/relatives married a Howells, and continued the Watkin name. Cheers Ronnie

Most are of family member's, I think from both sides of her family. Warning, they are the old tin type and deteriorating.

I am looking for info about my gr-gr-grandmother Amelia Howel (married name). All I know is that she is listed in various ways on the census records: (1880 Census Meby; 1900 Census Melie; 1910 Census Mechy; 1920 Census Mealy). She was Native American (I have been told Blackfeet or Blackfoot but I have no records of that and no information about her surname). She would have been born approx. 1865 in Georgia, USA. She was married to John (T.) Howell (1855) and had abt 12 kids. Of them I know of:
Volian 1880
Rosa(llia) 1878
Detroit 1882
Julia 1884
Willie/Wilson 1890
Cora Lee 1892
Hornsby 1896 (my gr-grandfather)
John (JT) 1899
Ernest 1909

All dates are from various census records and may be approximate.

Looking for my great-uncle, William (maybe Edward) Howells, born in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1899. My grandfather, his brother, emigrated to Cape Town, South Africa in 1920, and never returned to England. William, or Bill, as he was known, was an aspiring actor and we heard that he changed his name to Billy Howes (or something similar). His one sister, Adeline, married a Brinkworth and lived in Bournemouth. His other sister, Evelyn (Moxley) Buxton emigrated to South Africa with her second husband, after her first was killed at the First Battle of the Somme in 1916. Can't find any record of Bill after Census 1901.

HOWELLS, Louisa Kate

... was born 1860 in Middlesex (no town given in any census records) and died in Rudgwick, Sussex in 1892.

Does anyone have any information on her mother Mary?

Despite no record of a husband, Mary HOWELLS is recorded in the 1861 England census as the 'Head', married (I'm assuming this should be 'Widowed'), age 35, a shopkeeper at 48 Grove Street, Regents Park and born in Kingsbridge, Devon.

Despite many connotations, I couldn't crossmatch a Mary born Kingsbridge with a HOWELLS in the FreeBMD marriage index.

Mary remarries a John TATE in Pancras in 1869 and she and Louisa Kate HOWELLS are living with John in Rudgwick, Sussex in 1871. Her and John are still there in 1881 and she passes away in 1887.

Louisa married William EDWARDS in 1882 in Rudgwick and died in 1892 having had one child, Evelyn Mary EDWARDS in 1886.

If you are still looking for info on Edward Wyman Howells, I believe he is the son of
George Muller Howells b. Bristol England, 10 March 1834; m. Hamilton County, Ohio, 29 April 1856 to Harriet Butler Wyman.
George Muller probably emigrated from Bristol between 1850-1855. During the mid to late 1860's he removed to Fushing, N.Y.
I know nothing on the Wymans.
Hi, I am looking for descendants of David Howells born 1865 or 1871 and his wife (Maria) Jane Howells. (Maria) Jane Howells nee Howell(s) was born in 1862 at Pembroke Dock. But I am trying to confirm where David Howells (a carpenter) was born (possibly either Llansteffan or Llandeilo Abercowin) Their daughter Emily Gwendoline Howells was born in Llansteffan in 1893. The family then moved onto Llandybie then eventually Aberbeeg in Wales by 1901.Thanks

HOWELL-DODD-ROBINSON CEMETERIES

Three old and overgrown cemeteries in Southeastern Warren County, Ky are listed on RootsWeb by Eric J Thomason from
1997. I am unable to contact him to get the location of these cemeteries. I want to visit there to do more research and would appreciate any information.

Regards, Pat Diodati
