Hi Michelle, sincere apologies for September. This correspondence was found in my junk email so perhaps the earlier note also ended there and I missed it.
My email is ravensport@btinternet.com.
My maternal grandmother was Audrey Stella Jenner who was a daughter of Adolphous Hubert. I live in Westbury, Wiltshire so not a million miles from you. I have only just started this quest to find out where I came from so I am sure that you can be a huge help to me. I remember as a child meeting Uncle Roland who I believe was your husbands grandfather. I am sure that you can help me far more than I can you but will find out as much photographic information that I can and hopefully may be of interest to you. Great to hear from you. Kind regards, Graham.

Remember you well and your sister was one of our bridesmaids back in 1960 when we were married in the church at the beginning or end of lambeth Walk London and we had the reception in the pub on the other corner opposite the church.
Florrie wouldn't walk across the road to the pub and insisted on having a wedding car, quite funny really but she wanted photo's getting into the car outside the church and didn't want to walk across the road from the church into the pub in her wedding dress, couldn't manage to hire a proper wedding car in the area as they were all booked for that Saturday so a friend of one of her cousins said he had a new car and offered his services and a week later ran off with the wife of Florries cousin.
You are right in remembering Uncle Roland as a big man. He was firstly in the Buffs infantry regiment and then transfered to the Royal Military Police and ended up as a Regimental Sergeant Major.
We have been living in NZ for the last thirty five years to the North of Auckland at Arkles Bay.
Florrie has just taken out the wedding photo's and dusted them off and in the group photo taken outside the church which isn't there anymore your mother is standing at my right shoulder and Susan is of course standing at the front with our other bridesmaid. Don't think you were there that day or your father.
Family lost touch when your father and mother moved to Bristol.
Regards, Roly.

Hi Roland, I was amazed to see your correspondence here while checking out my great grandfather. As a boy I lived next to you at 14, Wellwinch Rd and well remember your marriage to Florrie. My mum was "Pat" Jenner whose mother I never met but her sister was Aunty Glasdys. I have no family history whatsoever of the Hubert family and would be grateful of any information. Hope that you are well and hope to hear from you. I believe I have some photos of you and your brother John? with your motorcycles. Also remember Uncle Roland who seemed a big man to me as a child.

Hi, Colleen.

The ascendency of Pierre-Paul HUBERT married to Suzanne LAPORTE has long been a mystery, one reason being that their marriage certificate was never found. The reknown genealogist Jetté ("Dictionnaire génélogique des familles du Québec") wrote "Of unknown origins", i.e. parents unknown, in his book.

Jacques HUBERT and Marguerite GODÉ/GODET have been at times presented as Pierre-Paul's parents. That is a false assumption, which is backed by no evidence whatsoever. And as far as I am concerned, it is to be rejected.

In the Fall of 2008 there appeared a long article by one André HÉBERT in the quarterly "Mémoires de la Société généalogique canadienne-française,volume 59, numéro 3, cahier 257, automne 2008". The author, who has done a tremendous amount of work and researh, posits the hypothesis that Pierre-Paul's parents are Paul HUBERT and Françoise MICHEL, married on 8 Feb 1685 in Québec. One hurdle is that Jetté wites that the couple Paul HUBERT and Françoise MICHEL nad "no posterity", which is to be interpreted to mean that no children of theirs were found, and not that they never had any.
Hébert's work is impressive; and led me and many others (go and visithttp://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?pid=65151... ) to accept that "hypotesis" as virtually confirmed.

Best regards.

Jean-Paul,
Thank you so much for replying to my post. This information is great. However, it confuses me a bit.
My notes agree with everything from Francois #1 to Pierre-Paul Hubert #4 who married Suzanne Laporte.
except, I have Jacques Hubert (b. 1654) and Marguerite Godet as Pierre-Pauls parents.
My next line reads that Jacques parents were Nicolas Hubert (b. abt. 1630) and Marguerite Landreau.
I now do not know which two entries are correct.
All my info from Francois & back has come from others online.
If I may, can I ask if you can confirm or deny either #5 or #6 in your post or my last 2 entries.(I have no official records at all) Thank you again for your time. It is greatly appreciated. Colleen

I will let you know which Saturday as soon as I find out. I plan on going and trying to find Karl and Anna Maria Beckenthal (my great great grandparents - their graves are unmarked) as well as cleaning up another family plot, and helping some genealogists record information on tombstones. I would like to send you some pictures of the cemetery that I took last year, but somehow I can't post them here - send me an email if you would like to see them.

maewin@comcast.net

Margaret

Hi Paula,
The Cemetery name is Woodland, and it is no longer used. There are about 85,000 people buried there, and at one time it was known as "The German Cemetery." Unfortunately, it has been vandalized. Now every year, usually the 1st or 2nd Saturday of June they have a "Safe Day" - the Newark police are there and people can visit the cemetery in relative safety. You can check it out on the web. I'll see what I can find out about William and Mary.
Margaret

I appreciate your help but I dont have any date of death. I've only been told that William & Mary Hubert born in 1873 & 1874 were buried in the cemetery on or along 10th street in Newark New Jersey. Mary Beckenthal signed the birth certificate of my Grandfather Henry Andrew Huberton Nov.5, 1895. Let's keep in touch maybe we can help one another with information. Thanks for contacting me.
Hi Paula!
I'm working on Beckenthal's, Muller's, and Egner's. I think Mary Hubert married my great uncle Charles Beckenthal. Anyway I'm going to the archives tomorrow in Trenton, NJ. If you want me to look up any death certificates, please send me the name of the deceased and the date they died. I'll see what I can get for you.
Margaret Beckenthal Ewin
maewin@comcast.net

Peter would have been my great-great grandfather since louis was his son and Louis son Frank Hubert was my grandfather who was born in Clyde Kansas in 1896.I am now grandfather myself now since 10 month ago for first time. My mother was a Hubert(Frank daughter) and he also had 3 sons.I noticed you had info on a Sarah Belows(Peter wife) anything more?I live in Oregon so we are a little far apart.I was looking at your profile and see you are a avid fisherman it looks like.I myself love to fish and currently a club president to a local bass fishing club. Looks like it in the bloodline then haha.Godd to meet you

Larry,

My great-grandmother Anna Hubert was married to Franz Hubert. They had two children (at least) Joseph Hubert (my grandfather) and Peter Hubert. Anna immigrated from Hungary. If you are interested shoot me a note back and I will share my tree. I have not had any luck tracing the Hubert back in Hungary.
