Re: Kwiatkowski in Poland

Sally,

The english translation of Kwiatkowski would be Flower or Bloom, so I am interested in finding out more about your Kwiatkowski connection in Poland if you have info to share on that line. I am not real familiar with the different areas of Poland yet, but I am very interested in any possible connections to the Kwiatkowski name from Poland.

I have a Lawrence Kwiatkowski married to Frances Kalinowski from the area of Przybyslaw/Turzany/Parchanie/Inowroclaw.

Lawrence and Frances had a daughter Josephine born in Przybyslaw I am guessing @ 1870, so Lawrence would be born @ 1850....all guess work on the dates. However, Josephine did marry 2nd husband Joseph Szczupak in Rochester NY 20 January 1908. He emigrated to US in MAy 1907 w/first wife and children, so Joseph and Josephine could have known each other/been from same area. Josephine died 12 March 1946 in Rochester.

Other names from the same area are Kaliska, Niewiadowski, Burmistrzak, Paprocki, Borowicz, Adamski, Zwierzykowska, Karminska, Kruszynski and Ulanowski.

Turzany is a small community @ 4 km west of Parchanie, and Parchanie is @ 8 km east of Inowroclaw. All in the Posen/Poznan area. Most of the families were married in or buried from St. Nicholas Church in Inowroclaw. At some point in history, these villages/towns may have been under Polish/German/Russian rule, but the families have always considered themselves Polish.

Let me know if you think there may be a connection.

Regards,
Maureen
La milicia lo llevó a establecerse en la isla de Puerto Rico, en donde se casó con Martina Ortiz para el 1853.

Puede que tengamos algun ancestro en común en Galicia.

Espero nos mantengamos en contacto por si surge nueva informacion.

Atentamente,

Edgar R. I know that they were the parents of Emilio Iglesias(b. 1858-1861, d. 1883). Emilio Iglesias married Charlotte A. Van Pelt (from Holland) in New York and had two son and one daugther. Amos Iglesias (b. 1879), Juanita Iglesias (b. 1881) and Emilio Iglesias (b. 1883). Emilio and Charlotte divorce and Charlotte emigrate to Jamaica Rode Island, New York and married a James Woodworth...

Eudaldo and Carmen were living in Puerto Rico, they send Emilio to New York to study Dentistry, Emilio came back to Puerto Rico and stablish his office.

I do not know if Eudaldo and Carmen Iglesias had more childrens, but please let me know if there is anything familiar to you in this family story.

Thanks,

Edgar

Iam from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I agree with Pascual Iglesias (see message board) 'cause I was told that my great-grand-father was abandon in a Catholic Church and the priests gave him the name of Jesus de la Iglesia, then his heritance will be called Iglesias. May grand father was named Candido Iglesias and he was born in Vigo, Spain. Then he came to Argentina when he was 20 years old, leaving the rest of his family there. Here in Argentina he married Carmen Gualtier and had 6 sons: NN (dead), Alfredo (dead), Esther (dead), Enrique (dead), Carmen (alive), Roberto (alive). I went to Spain with my father in 1981 and visited my grandfather's house 'cause there were some relatives who remembered us. Unfortunately, my father died and I lost contct with this side of my family. If someone knows them or at least if they see this message, please reply. If you have any knowledge of some of my relatives, please do write to: laale@usa.net.
Than you very much!!!
