In 1848, Abel STARR of Lawrence or Owen Co, Indiana died and left half of his estate to a Phillip Ikerd.

Abel was unmarried and the remainder of his estate was split between his siblings.

Could Phillip have been a child he fathered out of wedlock? Does anyone recognize this Phillip?

I have some information on Phillip Ikerd. He was born March 27, 1786. His father was Lawrence Ikerd, His mother was Christina Haas. He married Susannah. They had 9 children. Elizabeth A. Ikerd, Mary M. Ikerd, Anna C., Abel, Sally E., Eliza M., Jacob W., Soralda C., Sarah (Amanda). Phillip died October 27, 1869 and was buried in the Ikerd Cemetary in Lawrence Cty, IN. I wonder what the relationship is between the Starr's and the Ikerds. Maybe the answer is in a probate record I don't have.

Who were Abel Starr's siblings and parents? Do you have any of this information?

I noticed that your surname is Hutchison. Would you have a Nellie Hutchiso B. 11/27/1886 in your Hutchison background? If so, is there a relationship to either/both the Starrs and the Ikerds?

I'm still trying to determine what the Ikerd relationship is to the Starrs.

I do have a Hutchison who married a Starr. But, it wasn't until 1903 and it was in Iowa

I have seen a message which states that Florence Ikerd married James L. Starr. Florence is a descendant of Peter Ikerd. I found this on another website, which is no longer accessible. It stated Bedford, IN, I believe. I'm trying to figure out who this James L. Starr descends from. Have you any ideas?

James Logan Starr was my g-grandfather, his father was Cornelius who married Caroline Litton. There are Ikerds buried in the Leatherwood Cemetary, just east of Bedford. I realize your post is old and you may already have this info, if not I hope this helps.

I am trying to figure out if your James Logan Starr was married to Florence Ikerd? If so, do you know if James Logan Starr had a son named Atlee? Another website I saw indicated that James L. Starr m. Florence Ikerd had a son Atlee. I am trying to figure out if this is, in fact, the same lineage.

I am aware of my ex's father and grandfather, but haven't been able to get back any further.
