According to
Lincoln Co, October
Court 1804:
“Ordered by
Court that Michael
Cline, Benjamin
Dorsey & Peter Little, Esquires be a committee to settle the estate of Adam
Ikerd dec'd. & make report to the next County
Court. Daniel
Iker & Henry
Iker being under age to choose a guardian, the
Court appointed Michael
Cline Esqr. Guardian who gave bond & Security Jesse
Robinson in L100. Molly and Margaret
Iker being under age to choose a guardian, the
Court appointed
Simon Horse Guardian who gave bond & Security Jacob Shoeford in the sum of L100.”
All four children would have to be under 14 years of age (e.g., born say 1791-1803).... This has to be a different fellow than the Adam who had brothers Martin and
Simon who is still available to respond to the census taker in 1810. Anybody know more about Adam or what happened to his children (Daniel, Henry,
Molly and Margaret)?
