Hi David.
I understand you are related to Peter Illidge who married Elizabeth Lewin in Prescot in 1864.
Children
George, William, Margaret Jane, Peter, Harriet, Sarah Ann, Charles, Henry & Edith.
I assume you have Georges father and mother. Thomas Illidge and Rebecca Bostock the marraige of which can be found in pallots reg on ancestry which enabled me to order a copy of the original parish record from the Chester archive. 3rd April 1809 Frodsham.
Thomas was Baptised in Overton on 12th March 1786 who's Father and mother is recorded as Richard Illidge and Sarah. Richard Illidge and Sarah Gregory were married in St Helens in 1771. Initially we had Sarah Green but we belive this was incorrect. At present I am compiling a spreadsheet of every occurance of the name illidge this mainly being pre 1840 census to see if I can match something, as I figure they may not have been in Frodsham around 1748 but at present I have not visited the records office. If I find anything new I will let you know. Regards
Steve

Illidge - Frodsham - Nantwich

I am trying link the Illidge Family in Frodsham to that in Wymbumbury. At present I have George Illidge 1822 child of Thomas Illidge 1786, child of Richard Illidge 1748, Child of possibly Richard Illidge.
It does not seem the family were in or near Frodsham much earlier?
Reading the Diary of lieutant Richard Illidge, there is a reference the the Maquis Cholmondeley.
I have found from the Tithe Maps that the land in Frodsham farmed by my family was owned by the Marquis Cholmondeley.
I have also found a marriage in the St Lawrence Parish records in Frodsham of a John Illedge of Widdenbury and Mary Chaddock in 1711, though I have not yet linked John to my family tree (He may be the key)?
There are also certain references to land leases in a will.
All parts of a puzzle.
There seems to be links between the two places but nothing firm. Does anyone know of any other information which may link the illidges of Frodsham to Wynbubury or Nantwich?
