John Ingles or Yngells

I am seeking original documentary records about John Ingles, born in Mickleton, Gloucestershire in about 1460. I have seen references to a will in which he left his estate to 8 sons, but have not been able to find the will. One of these sons was Thomas Ingles who married Alice Bloxam or Bloxham or Blocksome and died in Aston sub Edge in 1556. Thomas was my 11th great grandfather. The parish records for these 2 places seem to begin only in the 1530s.

As far as I can gather my Grand-parents came from Newcastleton Liddesdale Scotland.
The earliest record I have is of James Inglis his wife was Agnes Brydon. He was born 1740.

My name is Sarah. I am the grandaughter of Sarah Howard daughter of Jerome. My father was Herbert Manson Howard .
Jerome lived with my grandmother. What I was told growing up was Jerome could not read or write. Who ever filled out his papers spelled the name how they thought it was spelled.

I remember most of the people listed in your threads. I presently live less than 1 mile from Edison Ingalls home.

This is my husband's grandmother (grandfather was Nathaniel Harvey Ingles) but I cannot find names or dobs for her parents or names of siblings.Her dob was 2-10=1879. My husband is a direct descendant of Mary Draper Ingles of "Follow The River" fame.

I am working on a branch of Ingles family that goes like this:
Ingles, Inglis= Scotish family that came from England to Scotland to fight against the English with Robert the Bruce.

My direct ancestors came to the US and I pick them up in New York around the mid 1700's. then through PA, OH, IL, MO. Second wagon train over the Oregon trail led by DeWitt Clinton Ingles.

Reached portland, OR. My great grandfather, the father of Lemuel Reno Ingles, settled in Beaverton/Manning area. My Grandfather and his family ended up in Cambria, San Luis Obispo, CA about 1920. All of his heirs have passed on and there are only two Ingles males in the next generation with 4 ingles males in the next generation.

Ask if you want clarification, of names, generations or whereabouts.

As I said in my garbled message on your phone my husband John Smith would have been Ernest Jesse's 1st cousin 3removed and his GGG Uncle was Jesse Ingles b1853 from Tanworth Warwickshire and brother to my husband's ancestor John Ingles b 1842. John Ingles went on to have Jesse Henry Ingles his great grandfather who married in India. Their daughter Beatrice married Horace Smith and had John's father Walter Frances Jesse Smith in Middlesex. Hi, Ernest Ingles was no relation to me, but was a dear old gentleman who my parents befriended and cared for in his later years up until the time he passed away. My parents passed on to me Ern's personal papers, bible etc. If you are really interested in them and can verify that you are related then I would be thrilled to know that they would be placed with his relatives where they belong! Robertson (Bob) Jurey Ingles

My husband's father was Robertson Jurey Ingles who grew up in Radford, VA (he is a direct descendant of Mary Draper Ingles). We know that his dad was married to a Marcella Whittaker in Wise Co.,Va in 1938, then to my mother-in-law,
Winifred Greear and then to Mildred Ruth Gwinn. The last two marriages took place in W. Va. We suspect that there were more children but since census records past 1930 are not available we have not been able to locate any. Does anyone have information on this? My husband would love to connect with siblings.

I have been doing some family searching for my husband,
Richard Richman who recently found his 2 of his 4 long lost siblings. There is still another brother named Robert L. Ingles born in San Francisco, CA 9-28-54. Also, the aspect of Ingles is very interesting. The furthest back I could go at this point was Jacob Ingles born 1837 in Indiana that married Susan E. They had 2 children: James Sutton Ingles born in LaSalle Illinois 1863 and a sister Lenora born 10-29-1897.
Does any of this information compare to yours?

We sure would love to find Robert L. Ingles.

I am not sure William H H Ingles is a direct descendent of my William. I have the following children of William and his 1st wife Jane Johnston whom he married 1821 in Monroe County, Va.: James 1821 Va., William 1829 Va., Sarah Jane 1833 Ohio, John 1836 Ohio, Martha 1841 Ohio, and Samuel Henry 1843 Ohio. Do any of these names match the probate record you have?

I know there were other Ingles families in Ohio about the same time my William arrived but I cannot link them together at this time. Would be willing to share what I have.

I am also researching this line. My G-G-G-grandfather was William Henry Harrison Ingles and I think that the William you are researching is his father. I have a copy of the probate record from his estate showing the name of many of his living children and grandchildren and he did have a son named William. I am seeking a direct male decendant from you William whyo would be willing to do ther ancestry DNA. I have already done the DNA of my father who is a direct male decendant of WILLIAM H H Ingles.
