Hi

I have a George Ingram in our family tree and I was testing the hypothesis that he was the Charles Ingram that perished on the Titanic as it is a family legend that we have someone that perished. Where I am struggling is proving that Charles and George are one and the same. Can you point me in the right direction to prove this as so far I am drawing a blank.

Many thanks in advance.

Elly

Living near all the family starting place I may have a little more info. Grandpa (Big Hugh in my vocabulary) tomb and Margaret's north say Ingraham. Mary Vance (my line through Robert) has Ingram. My grandparents born 1890 and 1895, always said Scot-Irish, but strong on the Irish. Family lore says when a new child was born the spelling became Ingram. It has carried through on my research. I have heard that William was Hugh's father but does any one have proof. As a matter of pride to the male relatives, Hugh was 72 when my great grandfather was born!

Alfred T Ingram - New York, Michigan & Indiana

I'm looking for information on the wife of this Alfred T Ingram. I've only found one indexed death record for a child of his and it says the mother was Elizabeth Mannering b. England. It's possible her name was Manwaring, or Manwarren.

Alfred served in the Civil War:
Ingram , Alfred T, Enlisted in Company M, Third Cavalry, Feb 22, 1864 at Paw Paw for 3 years , age 43. Mustered Fev 25, 1864. Discharged at San Antonio, Texas, Jan 21, 1866
As did another Ingram that enlisted on the same day:

Ingram, Lester P Enlisted in company F, Third Cavalry, Feb 22, 1864 at Greenfield for 3 years , age 29, Mustered Feb 24 1864. Discharged for disability at St. Louis, Mo., April 14, 1864

This is where I've found Alfred's family:

I do know at least the son Walter Alexander Ingram was born in Paw Paw, Van Buren County Michigan before 1860. He death record says he was born in 1860 but he must have been born the year before or so. The following is a time line for him that I've been able to gather so far.

~ 1858 in Paw Paw

1860
Greencaslte, Putnam, Indiana
Alfred Ingram age 29 or 39 farmer b. NY
Elizabeth age 25 b. NY
Frederic A age 8 b. NY
Louisa A age 6 b. NY
Walter A age 3 b. MI
Franklin U? age 1 b. Mich
The next family is a Charles Manwarran age 19 b. NY

1864- Is enlisting out of Paw Paw

1870
Paw Paw Van Buren County, Michigan
Ingram A. T. age 49 day laborer b. NY
Anna age 37 b. MI (new wife? other died??)
Walter A age 12 b MI
Franklin E age 10 b. MI
Henry G? age 8 b. Indiana

1880
Name: Alfred T. Ingram
Home in 1880: Paw Paw, Van Buren, Michigan
Ingram Alfred age 59 b. NY parents b. England
Anna age 49 wife b. Canada parents b. Canada

In 1882 Alfred applied for Civil War Pension. I've not found a Widow's pension in the index.

I've found that the son Walter A married a Martha Ann Clark in 1884 in Muskegon County, Michigan. Walter died in 1902 in Wisconsin.

I found that the daughter Louisa married Lewis L Ball in Cedar Rapids, Kent County Michigan in 1872.

It appears although I'm NOT certain that the son Franklin Eugene went to North Dakota and is in the census's there to 1920. It's possible the son Henry is also in North Dakota.

I've not been able to find any other death records for any of the children in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana or North Dakota. Only Walter's in Wisconsin.

There is possible ties to other families of: Wilson, Mallet, and Maynard.

ANY help with this Ingram family would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping someone has already looked into them and has gathered more information.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Alan. Yes I do have more information that you might be interested in. Hopefully you also have some to help me fill in the missing spots in my tree too. I checked out your tree on Ancestry and I can add some pictures and info back to when the family was living in Banff, Banffshire, Scotland (before Edinburgh). I have a couple of pictures of their house in Edinburgh too that you might not have. I will contact you directly so that we can share these attachments. It is certainly exciting to make contact with one of the Beckings because I have kept hearing about the "Beckings" in doing my research. Thanks for responding. By the way, are you still in Sault Ste. Marie? Our branch moved to Thunder Bay (Port Arthur) but of course has spread to many other areas too since then.

I've been in contact with both persons who did the Ingram book and I've diligently searched the Chico Cemetery, and IF Mary Caroline is buried there, there is no marker and NO record at the city or county level of her being buried there.

So, the search goes on.
Thanks,
Leaton

My maternal g-grandfather, Samuel Lafayette Walser married Martha Mae Ingram, daughter of William Timothy Ingram and Mary Caroline Grimsley. I've searched unsuccessfully for Mary Caroline's burial site for years. None of the Walser or Ingrams have any idea as to where she is buried. I'll appreciate any information as to the site.

Many thanks,
Leaton

Not sure if any are my kin,but one of the family photos (it says it was taken in Cheyenne,OK around 1911) I have some meadows, munn, johnson names on it. I would like the photos emailed to me if it would be possible. I might be able to match some to my Ingram ancestors. Email is mleehelms@yahoo.com. Thank You
