John Andrew Isham

I have noticed that a lot of people have John Andrew Isham, who was born 1826 in Georgia, died in 1878 and buried in Ga. The 1880 Tennessee shows him listed as a widow. It also lists Glenn, Calli, Joseph and Wesley(Bud). He married Perilla(Penella) Vincent in December of 1880 in Arkansas but no one knows where is buried or where his wife and younger children were until the children showed up in later census records. If and one knows where he is buried or what happened to the wife and children please let me know.

Florence Rose RICKETTS ISHAM

Looking for obit (or any information about her adult life) for Florence ISHAM who died in a hosptial in Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH in 1991. There are no hospitals in Perry Co. OH. Her long time residence was in New Lexington, Perry Co., OH. She was a widow at the time of her death. I do not know what the name of her ISHAM husband was yet (I'm ordering death certificate currently) or if it was even her only husband. I would like to know if she had children or grandchildren, etc....She was the d/o Benjamin RICKETTS and his first wife (name unknown). She was born in Michigan in 1925. But by 1930 census her parents were divorced and she was living in New Lexington with her paternal grandparents John Wesley RICKETTS and Emma Florence KENNEDY. My link to her is that my grandmother Glenna Annette KENNEDY (m. Durward Edward COLE) was the much younger sister to Emma KENNEDY RICKETTS.

My GGG grandgather was James Isom (1818-1889)from Lancaster, SC, married A. Elizabeth Coonrod of York, SC about 1850. Their daughter, Martha Agnes Isom (1866-1934)married Charles Franklin Harrison in 1884. Shortly after my G grandmother (Lula)was born (1885) Charles left his wife to find work in Texas and was never heard from again. His wife filed for divorce in 1889 and migrated to Texas with a brother. She remarried. I am trying to find James' parents. Is this fmaily possibly the ones that linked into your Georgia family?

Like the other messages, I'm working on the Ishams of Hinton in the Hedges and I suspect Thomas was the brother of John who I know was the son of William & Elizabeth (as were William born abt 1823, George born abt 1828)

I have to visit the record office for more information, which I should be able to do these coming months. I am related via Mary Ann's sister, Eliza and her marriage to John Henry Claridge in 1866. His sister, Sarah Ann Claridge was my Great x 2 Grandmother.

I am particlurly interested in the Ishams of Hinton, (as well as the Paxtons & Stuchbury's) for if they turn out to be related to the Ishams of Greatworth I am probably vaguely related to a work colleague!
Blount and William Henry Isham did marry in 1894. There is a Martha A. Blount buried in Oklahoma. She died in 1930. She is buried using her first married name so perhaps shd didn't remarry.

I have been told that Sarah Isham, daughter of William Isham and Rebecca Weaver, married James Ellis. I have found a Sarah Isom who married a James Ellis in Campbell County, TN in 1813. However, it seems unlikely to me that Sarah would go so far from her family to marry. Her parents remained in South Carolina as far as I can tell. Some of her siblings ended up in Georgia. There is a James Ellis in Georgia (the right age, etc.), but he seems to have married Olive Varner in Jasper County, Georgia. Can anyone straighten me out?

ISHAM, George W

I'm looking for information on George W. Isham born April 1843 in Georgia, married Nancy Wilson about 1868. He died in 1934 in San Saba, Texas. I can find nothing on her death. I need parent information for George. I am pretty sure that they were John and Susan Isham, and can find Susan in several census records. Does anyone know anything more on them? Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Isham - Freeman in Greatworth and Finmere, England

Hello,

I as well have Isham family connected to the Freemans. My branch resided in Greatworth, England.

I have:

Margaret Isham
B: 1804 in Greatworth, Northamptonshire, England
D: 1 Jul 1899 in Finmere, England

Married to William Freeman
B: 1811 in Finmere, Oxfordshire, England

They had 7 known children.

My Freeman branch eventually moved to PA to work in the coal mines when the mines in England started to "dry up."

If this sounds like your family, please write! I'd love to hear from you. I don't have much info on the Isham family, but I have a TON of information on the Freemans.

Thanks for reading!
