does anyone have a Herbert or Walter Jakob on their list? Am trying to hunt down my fathers family. He was from Leiptzig- can't remember where he was from. His father -Walter- was an architect. dad was born around 1920. Anybody that can help would be appreciated. Jozsef was from Krizba Hungary, He lived in Portsmouth Ohio and is in Gladwin Mi by the 1920( according to the census). tHEY left gladwin sometime in the early 30's for??? Any info on him or his wife or any othe following names would be appreciated. Annas maiden name may have been either Rabb or Marton.

I think I have the answer to your Jako query. It is been some time since I have been following the line who are my ancestors. I will E-mail you if you like and explain what I know. I have followed the on the census from 1860-1900. I plan to get back at it when I get down to the U.S. as I would like to get the descendents.

I am trying to trace my family roots and was told my grandfather's (Frederick Ernest Todd/Nicholson)mother's maiden name was either Jakob or Jakobs. Yes, I have more on the family. Some of the pedigree is, undoubtedly, I bit hypothetical still, but further research will harden the facts, I guess. My greatgrandmother was a Jakob from Langnau. If I have reconstructed both our families correctly, we both are descendants of Jakob JAKOB, born abt 1515 at Lauperswil in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. The latest common ancestor would be Gilgen JAKOB, b.Aug 1606, married to Anna DAELLENBACH. They had 10 children, amoung them Benedikt b. 1639, your ancester, and Christen, b. 1664, my ancestor. I'm born in 1943, living in Basel, Switzerland. the Luedis are from Heimiswil, Bern; our branch goes back to Konrad LUEDI, b. abot 1546,
