      <description>For anybody who has Jara in their lineage (particularly if they can trace it back to the three fingers region of Jalisco or southern Zacatecas), there is a meticulous and comprehensive genealogy compilation of this family written by Totatiche town historian Mauricio Valdes Jara on sale through Borderlands books:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.borderlandsbooks.com" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.borderlandsbooks.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;According to the book, all of the Jaras from Mexico are descendant from a Joseph Fernandez de Jaraquemada.  It appears his children shortened the name to Jara and thus the Jara last name was born in Mexico.  His sibling appear to have kept the Fernandez instead.</description>
