Don't know if I'm spelling that right. Tradition has it that their son William Sidney b.1831 went off to the civil war and never returned. 1860 census shows a William Thompson as the only white person in a household of mullatoes. He does not appear in any later census. This william was 29 in 1860 so it may be the same one. Anyone out there know his fate? Or his descendancy? Also my mom said that she and dad also learned that at some point Linnie and Bridges had some mixed children in their house that they thought they were raising, maybe William's? We don't know, and my Dad didn't document where he got that info, but my mom was adamant that he did. He usually documented everything but he was very ill for the last 15 years of his life.
