William Robert Franklin Jinks married Mary EstherLee(I was told Mary EstherLee by Pop)Coleman was the Parents of William Robert Franklin(g)Jinks(known as Pop Jinks to family and Uncle Frank to friends and neighbors, the (g) because he did not like being a Junior, if you look for his WWI enlistment card here on Ancestry it shows his name as Wm(William) Robert Franklin Jinks and he signs his legal signature as William Robert Frankling' Jinks. Wm Robert Franklin Jinks III was Pop's oldest son. Joe Henry Jinks was Pop's brother 2 years younger than him( I have a picture of Uncle Joe Henry standing beside a Covered Wagon and a Team of Mules, and he was head and shoulders above the team slmost as tall as the wagon top(BIG man). Joseph Sassers(Cephus) Sullivan married Mary(Polly)Jinks - yes daughter of Adam Jinks, she died in Mississippi, and then he married Matilda Telitha Jinks and Lucinda Rebecca Jinks (younger sister) came to help with all the children and Joseph raped her and she returned to Mississippi to her family and had William Robert Franklin Jinks( She refused more or less to give him the Sullivan name. thereby we go by Jinks now instead of Sullivan. Christopher Columbus was half brother to William Robert Franklin Jinks Sr. and nephew of Lucinda Rebecca Jinks. Adam Jinks and Eliza Eaves were the Jinks girls parents.
the following is link to his (Pop Jinks) enlistment card
http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbid...

Sorry I can't be of any help; I've never heard of either of those two names in my research, which has been mostly with the Jinks family that started in NC, then moved to GA, and then into southern Alabama. A large chunk of the Jinks family then moved on to Texas, but I have not researched that branch.

Bill--

James Edward Jenks(also spelled "Jinks") was my grandfather's brother. He caught some ailment and the family sent him to Eureka Springs for a cure. While he was there he met the dau. of the hardware store owner, her name was Margaret Jane Breeding. They married on 24 Dec 1885 and proceeded to have twelve children, one of which was Mable who married Luther Norris and later married Alvin Ledbetter. James and Margaret were in the OK territory for awhile but settled in Benton Co, AR near the town of Gentry in "Coon Hollow". There is a large group of descendants in the NW Arkansas area. I will be glad to trade info.

Perry Jenks
perryjenks@yahoo.com

Perry Jenks

Jinks/Jenks in Australia

I'm looking for information on the family of Herbert John Jinks of Australia (late 1800s-early 1900s). From what I've been told, he was born in Wales, came to Australia via England, worked in Queensland, and came to Victoria where he married Mary Agnes Murphy. I've also been told that he changed his name (from Jinks to Jenks?) as a result of a fight with his brother, so it appears that there was another branch of the family in Australia (probably Queensland).

Bridges Thompson & Linnie Jenks Mulatto grandchildren? William Sidney Thompson

Don't know if I'm spelling that right. Tradition has it that their son William Sidney b.1831 went off to the civil war and never returned. 1860 census shows a William Thompson as the only white person in a household of mullatoes. He does not appear in any later census. This william was 29 in 1860 so it may be the same one. Anyone out there know his fate? Or his descendancy? Also my mom said that she and dad also learned that at some point Linnie and Bridges had some mixed children in their house that they thought they were raising, maybe William's? We don't know, and my Dad didn't document where he got that info, but my mom was adamant that he did. He usually documented everything but he was very ill for the last 15 years of his life.

She was born in 1923 or 1924 and her father owned a smallholding. I have no other information.

I'm looking into my great Grandfather, Harvey Jinks. I know he was a coucillor in West Bromwich in the 1930's, family legend says he was also active in the trade unions. He had an "Outdoor" a kind of off licence, in Railway Street, also in the 1930's. He was injured sometime previously and presumably had been some kind of manual worker.

If anyone has any information that could help I'll be very grateful.

I was born in Stamford, Lincolnshire, and have discovered several lines of descent from Thomas and John's parents, who lived in Polebrook, near Oundle.

I believe my MORGAN connection comes from Phebe Morgan, the wife of Richard Jinks and mother of Joseph (and many more). I will post my Jinks lineage in a public list and give you access to it with me - perhaps working cooperatively we can bring these branches together!! (Hey, it's not like we have a connection to a family named SMITH is it!!)
I have some pics that were sent to me by another family researcher. Could I email them to your personal email? Not everyone in the photo collage has been identified so perhaps you will see something that looks familiar to you! I don't want to post them publically because they are not mine but I was asked to work on identifying the individuals.

He was at a roundup and watching cattle and rode down into a gorge or ditch and was knocked off and was gored by one of the cows. He later died of blood poison.
Blanche Belle Crawford, dies at aged 94

Blanche Bell Crawford (granddaughter of Sallie Jinks Davidson)
Born 23 Oct 1914 Brinkley, AR
Died 29 July 2008 Southaven, MS

I just found out Tuesday morning. I was planning to send her a birthday card and had her on my mind. She always told me that she didn't want an obit put in the paper and I guess she didn't. She said she didn't want the buzzard to circle until it was too late, her words. I know she was planning to be buried in AL where her cousin Betty Jean lives but I don't know if her wishes were honored. Someone planted in her mind that everyone was out to strip her of her property and I was not excluded. She thought I wanted to put her into a nursing home and steal her house. She signed her home over to one of her neighbor's daughter and cousin Betty Jean, four years ago. I just wonder if Betty Jean even knows that half of Blanche's estate was left to her. I don't have an email for Emma Dean...will someone let her know.I grew to love that old lady and it broke my heart when she lost faith in her family.
