Hello Mary
I do have John R. Johnsons parents. They are Louis Johnson and he married Anna (Ann) Blanton. I do not have any information on where they were born or where they are buried. I'm sure it would be North Carolina. I haven't tried to research this limb of the tree, however I certainlly will in the near future.
If you will send me your e mail address, when I get additional information on Louis and Anna Johnson I will send it to you. I'm sure you have all the information on the Lewis Napoleon Johnson family. I have all of John R. Johnson's children in my database. Most of them I have their spouses and some of the children. My e mail address is joedblack@juno.com. Any information I can help you with, I'm more than happy to accomodate. Regards, Joe Black

Betsey JOHNSON COLLINS VANBUREN

I am seeking death/burial information on Betsey JOHNSON COLLINS VanBUREN. Betsey was born about 1848 in Canada to James A JOHNSON and Ann DENT.

On December 22, 1873 she marries widower Tristan CoLLINS in Dakota, Waushara County, WI. They have five children: Susan, Alvin, Myra, Andrew and Henry that I know of.

Tristan dies November 3, 1888 in Dakota. On June 18, 1891 Betsey then marries James VanBUREN of Princeton, Green Lake County.

I then find James VanBUREN on the 1900 census as widowed. James then married Frances Decourcey/Decomsey November 28, 1901. I believe Betsey was James' second wife as James is shown on that 1900 census record with son, Vern who was born in 1875 which would have been before Betsey married James.

What happened to Betsey? I do not find her living with any of her children. Did she die? Did she divorce James VanBUREN? Any direction or help would great

DAVID JOHNSON: DATA 1822-1844 UPDATED TO CONFIRM.FRENCH FOLLOWS

HELP PLEASE : among descendants of David Johnson listed just below, would be someone who would have in hand data, in his or her genealogical tree or in his or her oral tradition, about our common ancestor from 1822 to 1844 ?

David Johnson limited list of descendants surnames : JOHNSON, BACHAND, OUIMET, LAFORTUNE, DAGENAIS, FORGET, LAMBERT, BROUSSEAU, SHANNON, GIOVENCO, ROSSI, DESJARDINS, GUNN, BASCOMB, MILTON.

DAVID JOHNSON : DATA 1822-1844 UPDATED TO CONFIRM, from his birth to 22 years old, in Quebec, Canada (or in USA or in England).
N.B. FRENCH FORM FOLLOWS
Census 1851-52 declares David Johnson as being born in Montreal (he is surely the same David Johnson married to Virginie Brousseau, with three children identified with them on the same census ; a daughter with her Grandmother Côté). Census 1861 declares his birth in the USA (I thought of New England or he came through a port of New England). The following censuses (1871, 1881, 1891) declare his birth in England. Two documents speak of David Johnson as having an ethnic Irish origin (via Keinan ?).
The original David' birth document was seemingly destroyed in the Anglican Christ Church fire, 10 December 1856, in Montreal. Then, an hypothesis with civil documents is required. For the moment, the most plausible hypothesis I hold on, of which elements fit very well together and the one which is the most conform to oral tradition, is that David Johnson is born in Montreal in 1822 and not in England. Also I hold on his father, Thomas Johnson, is born abt 1784 at Norwich, Norfolk, UK, and his mother, Mary Ann Johnson (Keinan), abt 1785 in Ireland. They married abt 1806, at their arrival at Montreal after travelling together, with a Thomas' brother, William David, and with a sister' Mary Ann or a sister' Thomas and William, on the boat coming from Liverpool. Thomas held a boarding house ; William, a goldsmith shop on the Notre-Dame Street (St. Mary), west of McGill. William and Thomas held together the goldsmith shop during 1843-1844. William being probably dead abt 58 years old, Thomas continued alone until abt 1847. Thomas and Mary Ann had abt six children in Montreal, including the youngest, David, in 1822. Abt 1847, now abt 63 years old, Thomas and Mary Ann returned to England finish their days in Norwich. They died between 1853 and 1860.
Main source of my hypothesis : (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718.
Sources :
- Persons : Census of Canada East and West, NB and the NE in 1851 (1852). Microfilmed original acts of marriage and burial.
- Birth : National Archives of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA. Marriage contract of 19 January 1844, in the presence of Charles-Edouard Gagnon, notary. David Johnson said there to be 22 years old.
- Burial : Registry of St. Jerome, Quebec, Canada. This cemetery is still at the same place as in 1899. Source : History and Genealogy Thousand Islands, Heritage Funeral of St. Therese, p.1.
- Marriage 1 : BAnQ, non-Catholic marriages in the Montreal region, 1766-1899.
- Marriage 2 : Registry of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. Census of Canada East and West, NB and the NE in 1851 (1852). Microfilmed original acts of marriage and burial.
- BAnQ, Lovell's Montreal and it suburb Directory (1842-1999).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The last steps to confirm the genealogical history of my GGrandfather David Johnson before his twenties (from abt 1822 to 1844).
Here is the data I found about the family of Thomas Johnson, my GGGrandfather, mainly concerning his son, David Johnson, my GGrandfather :
JOHNSON, Thomas
Record ID : 215860
Year : 1825
Name of Head of Family : Thomas Johnson [he is the only one named in the census]
Residence : Montreal City (West Ward), 9th Main Division of this Parish,
Montreal County, Lower Canada [Quebec]
Number of People Living in the House : 10
Number of People Absent from the House : 0
Total Number of People Living in the House:
Under the age of 6 : 1
At least 6 years but less than 14 years : 3
At least 14 years but less than 18 years : 1
Males :
At least 18 years but less than 25 years – not married : 1
At least 18 years but less than 25 years – married : 0
At least 25 years but less than 40 years – not married : 1
At least 25 years but less than 40 years – married: 0
At least 40 but less than 60 – not married : 0
At least 40 but less than 60 – married : 1
At least 60 years and older – not married : 0
At least 60 years and older – married : 0
Under 14 years : 1
Females :
At least 14 years but less than 45 years – not married : 2
At least 14 years but less than 45 years – married : 1
At least 45 years and older – not married : 0
At least 45 years and older – married : 0
General Remarks : none
Event : #cq100 : 1825 Census of Lower Canada, Montreal County – City of Montreal.
Source : Transcribed from (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the preceding data (1825 Montreal Census, 20 June to 20 September), here is how I constructed the Thomas Johnson family hypothesis, ultimately to obtain data about David Johnson :
Thomas Johnson, head, born abt 1784 Norwich, Norfolk, England, age 41
Mary Ann Kenyon, wife, born abt 1785 (Drumcree, Armagh ?), Ireland, age 40
EMIGRATION AT MONTREAL, LOWER-CANADA, ABT 1806
MARRIAGE : ABT 1806, in Montreal
DECEASES :
Thomas : 1856 or 1860 ; ( at or near St Michael At Thorn ?), Norfolk, England
Mary Ann : 1853 or 1854 or 1857 or 1860 ( at or near St Michael At Thorn ?), Norfolk, England
A Thomas' brother (William David ?), born abt 1786 at Norwich,Norfolk, Uk, not married, age abt 39
A Thomas' or Mary Ann' sister, born abt 1788 at Norwich,Norfolk, Uk, or in Ireland, not married age abt 37
(William and Mary Ann' sister would they marry also abt 1806 in Montreal, as Thomas and Mary Ann – double marriage - ?)
Child 1 son, born abt 1807 Montreal age abt 18
Child 2 daughter, born abt 1810 Montreal age abt 15
Child 3 daughter, born abt 1813 Montreal age abt 12
Child 4 son, born abt 1816 Montreal age abt 9
Child 5 daughter, born abt 1819 Montreal age abt 6
Child 6 son DAVID, born 1822 Montreal age 3
Nota : David Johnson and his sons, declared to be Episcopalian (the USA Anglican Church).
Sources :
- persons : based on 1825 Census or Lower Canada, Montreal County, City of Montreal, transcribed from (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718.
- births, deaths : Ancestry.com.
- marriage : FamilySearch TM International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Montreal area, May 10 1806, Thomas was authorized as a trustee for a trusteeship asked May 7 1806. Source : BAnQ, Trustee and trusteeship of Montreal area, 1791-1807.
Two times (1811&1813) Thomas Johnson was chosen as a person liable to serve as a juror at Montreal court, as said by the following :
Years of Record : 1811 & 1813
Source/Event : Montreal : Jury Lists (Persons liable to serve as jurors)
Comments : living in Montreal
Reference : National Archives of Canada, Microfilm Reel No. H-175 (RG4B19Vol1) page 9 for 1811 & page 45 for 1813.
************************************************************************

Delta County Johnsons

Hi, I am looking for anyone who may have any information regarding paternal grandfather's family. His name was Elmer (also spelled Almer and Jalmar) Oscar Johnson and he was born around June of 1899 in Marinette, WI. His parents were Oscar Johnson and Beda Anderson. My grandfather has four brothers and three sisters. His brothers names were Clifford Leo, Earl and Leslie and his sisters names were Lillian, Mabel and Hazel. The whole family was living in Escanaba, MI in the 1910 Census. I believe that my grandfather died around 1925 or 1926 in Escanaba. My grandmother's name was Malvina Jutstrom. I am interested in learning whether my great aunts and uncles had any children. I believe that Earl may have died around 1989 in Delta County, Michigan and Clifford may have died in May of 1979, also in Delta County. I have never met any of my great aunts or uncles and know nothing of the family after around 1925.

DAVID JOHNSON : DONNÉES 1822-1844 À CONFIRMER. DATA 1822-1844 TO CONFIRM.

- mariage : FamilySearch TM International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Liste non exhaustive des noms de famille reliés aux descendants de David Johnson : JOHNSON, BACHAND, OUIMET, LAFORTUNE, DAGENAIS, FORGET, LAMBERT, BROUSSEAU, SHANNON, GIOVENCO, ROSSI, DESJARDINS, GUNN, BASCOMB, MILTON.
************************************************************************
DAVID JOHNSON : DATA 1822-1844 TO CONFIRM, from his birth to 22 years old, in Quebec, Canada, or in USA or in England.

Census 1851-52 declares David Johnson as being born in Montreal (he is surely the same David Johnson married to Virginie Brousseau, with the same first children already identified until 1851). Census 1861 declares his birth in the USA (I thought of New England or he came through a port of New England). The following censuses (1871, 1881, 1891) declare his birth in England. Two documents speak of David Johnson as having an ethnic Irish origin (via Keinan ?).
For the moment, the most plausible hypothesis that I hold on, of which elements fit very well together and the one which is the most conform to oral tradition, is that David Johnson is born at Montreal in 1822 and not in England. Also I hold on his father, Thomas Johnson, is born around 1784 at Norwich, Norfolk, UK and his mother, Mary Ann Johnson (Kenyon), is born circa 1785 in Ireland. They married abt 1805 (perhaps at Drumcree, Armagh), then they emigrated from Ireland or England (Norwich or London). They probably established in 1809 at Montreal with their two first children to hold a goldsmith shop on the Notre-Dame Street (St. Mary), west of McGill. They had six other children in Montreal, including the youngest, David, in 1822. Abt 1847, they returned to England finish their days in Norwich (or London). They died between 1853 and 1860 if they returned to Norwich. (Main source of my hypothesis : (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718).
Sources :
- Persons : Census of Canada East and West, NB and the NE in 1851 (1852). Microfilmed original acts of marriage and burial.
- Birth : National Archives of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA. Marriage contract of 19 January 1844, before Charles-Edouard Gagnon, notary. David Johnson said there to be 22 years old.
- Burial : Registry of St. Jerome, Quebec, Canada. This cemetery is still the same as 1899.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the preceding data (1825 Montreal Census), here is how I constructed the Thomas Johnson family hypothesis, ultimately to obtain data about David Johnson :
Thomas Johnson, head, born abt 1784 Norwich, Norfolk, England age 41
Mary Ann Kenyon, wife, born abt 1785 (Drumcree, Armagh ?), Ireland 40
MARRIAGE : ABT 1805 (Drumcree, Armagh, Ireland ?)
Deceases : Thomas and Mary Ann at Norwich ( at or near St Michael At Thorn ?), Norfolk, England
Thomas : 1856 or 1860 ; Mary Ann : 1853 or 1854 or 1857 or 1860
Child 1 son, born abt 1807 Ireland or England age 18
Child 2 daughter, born abt 1808 Ireland or England age 17
EMIGRATION AT MONTREAL, LOWER-CANADA, ABT 1809 ?
Child 3 daughter, born abt 1810 Montreal age 15
Child 4 son, born abt 1812 Montreal age 13
Child 5 daughter, born abt 1816 Montreal age 9
Child 6 son, born abt 1818 Montreal age 7
Child 7 daughter, born abt 1820 Montreal age 5
Child 8 son DAVID, born abt 1822 Montreal age 3
Nota : David Johnson and his sons, declared to be Episcopalian (the USA Anglican Church).
Sources :
- persons : based on 1825 Census or Lower Canada, Montreal County, City of Montreal, transcribed from (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718.
- births, deaths : Ancestry.com.
- marriage : FamilySearch TM International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two times (1811&1813) Thomas Johnson was chosen as a person liable to serve as a juror at Montreal court, as said by the following :
Years of Record : 1811 & 1813
Source/Event : Montreal : Jury Lists (Persons liable to serve as jurors)
Comments : living in Montreal
Reference : National Archives of Canada, Microfilm Reel No. H-175 (RG4B19Vol1) page 9 for 1811 & page 45 for 1813.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David Johnson limited list of descendants surnames : JOHNSON, BACHAND, OUIMET, LAFORTUNE, DAGENAIS, FORGET, LAMBERT, BROUSSEAU, SHANNON, GIOVENCO, ROSSI, DESJARDINS, GUNN, BASCOMB, MILTON.
Harry Johnson (Sunderland, Co.Durham)

Hi

Does anyone have a Harry Johnson (b. 1878) in their tree? I know he married a Margaret Parkinson. They are my great grandparents.

Harry appears to be one of 5 children, George Thomas (b.1875), Margaret Ann (b.1880), Louise Jane (b.1882) and James (b.1884). His father is James Johnson (b.1839) who married an Elisabeth Hutchinson (b.1849, Penrith, Cumberland). I believe they married in 1865 in Sunderland. James was a House Joiner according to the 1881 and 1891 UK census.

If I am thus far correct, then James Johnson (b.1839) is one of 4 children William (b.1831), Elizabeth (b.1836), James (b.1839) and Margaret J (b.1841). His parents were George (b.1796 Monkwearmouth) and Margaret Johnson (b.1811, Whitehaven, Cumberland). George was a cooper by trade.

Did James Johnson (b.1839) marry anyone else? Possibly a Mary A.

I am awaiting a marriage certificate for my great grandparents to prove for sure, whether I am linked to these ancestors. I believe I am, because my Dad and my great Aunt told me about a Henry (now Harry) Johnson and a Margaret A Parkinson.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Info on Lacoste Johnson Chesterfield, SC

The following News article was found in the Cheraw Chronicle Oct, 2 1930, top of front page, under the following headline.

"Sees Husband shot to Death"

Hartsville, Oct 1 1930 - Lacoste Johnson, Chesterfield county farmer, was fatally shot by his white tenant, Charlie Gainey, on the Johnson farm, nine miles north of Hartsville this afternoon while Mrs. Johnson looked helplessly on. At the inquest begun tonight the widow told a corner's jury that Gainey shot her husband three times and that he died almost at once.

Mrs. Johnson told officers that she and her husband were in there cotton field when Gainey came up. The two men engaged in a dispute over the settlement of an account which resulted in the volley from Gainey's gun. Although Mrs. Johnson testified that only three shots were fired a superficial examination of the body tonight showed six wounds, and further examination will be held tomorrow.

Gainey was arrested shortly after the shooting and placed in the Chesterfield county jail pending the conclusion of the inquest tomorrow at Mc Bee when tow additional witnesses are to be heard.

Mr. Johnson left behind his wife who before marriage was Rebecca Winburn, there children and his mother Mrs. Emma Johnson.
-end-

Lacoste was born Luther Lacoste Johnson on 13 Oct 1892, son of Jessie Johnson and Teresa Emma Smith. He is buried at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery near Hartsville, SC. His death certificate showed his autopsy was conducted by Dr. Byerly, Hartsville, SC.

My gggreatgrandfather and gggrandmother are Thomas Johnson and Adelphia carter. They were married in 1805 in Wilkes co. NC. They later moved to Kentucky. Adelphia father was Henry Carter, my search is who was Thomas's father? Some family trees of distant relatives show Samuel Johnson as his father[but his birth and death dates are the same as the famous English writer] to my understanding he never had children or live in north Carolina. Some other family trees show William Johnson. Has anyone in this family line did a dna test to complete this line.

Help to find out the 1822-1844 life of David Johnson, my GGfather, from his birth to 22 years old, either in Quebec, Canada, eit

The last steps to confirm the genealogical history of my GGrandfather David Johnson before his twenties (from abt 1822 to 1844)
Here is the data I have about the family of Thomas Johnson, my GGGrandfather, mainly concerning his son, David Johnson, my GGrandfather :
JOHNSON, Thomas
Record ID: 215860
Year: 1825
Name of Head of Family: Thomas Johnson [he is the only one named in the census]
Residence : Montreal City (West Ward), 9th Main Division of this Parish,
Montreal County, Lower Canada [Quebec]
Number of People Living in the House: 10
Number of People Absent from the House: 0
Total Number of People Living in the House:
Under the age of 6: 1
At least 6 years but less than 14 years: 3
At least 14 years but less than 18 years: 1
Males:
At least 18 years but less than 25 years – not married: 1
At least 18 years but less than 25 years – married: 0
At least 25 years but less than 40 years – not married: 1
At least 25 years but less than 40 years – married: 0
At least 40 but less than 60 – not married: 0
At least 40 but less than 60 – married: 1
At least 60 years and older – not married: 0
At least 60 years and older – married: 0
Under 14 years: 1
Females:
At least 14 years but less than 45 years – not married: 2
At least 14 years but less than 45 years – married: 1
At least 45 years and older – not married: 0
At least 45 years and older – married: 0
General Remarks: none
Event: #cq100: 1825 Census of Lower Canada, Montreal County – City of Montreal.
Source: Transcribed from (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa]: reel C-718.
Mary Ann Kenyon, wife, born abt 1785 (Drumcree, Armagh) ??, Ireland 40
MARRIAGE : ABT 1805 (Drumcree, Armagh, Ireland) ??
Deceases : Thomas and Mary Ann at Norwich ( at or near St Michael At Thorn ?), Norfolk, England
Thomas : 1856 or 1860 ; Mary Ann : 1853 or 1854 or 1857 or 1860
Child 1 son, born abt 1807 Ireland or England age 18
Child 2 daughter, born abt 1808 Ireland or England age 17
EMIGRATION AT MONTREAL, LOWER-CANADA, ABT 1809 ??
Child 3 daughter, born abt 1810 Montreal age 15
Child 4 son born abt 1812 Montreal age 13
Child 5 daughter, born abt 1816 Montreal age 9
Child 6 son born abt 1818 Montreal age 7
Child 7 daughter, born abt 1820 Montreal age 5
David Johnson son born abt 1822 Montreal age 3
Nota : David Johnson and his sons, declared to be Episcopalian (the USA Anglican Church).
Sources:
- person: 1825 Census or Lower Canada, Montreal County, City of Montreal, transcribed from (film of) documents held in the collection of the Lirary and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa] : reel C-718.
- birth, death: Ancestry.com.
- marriage: FamilySearch TM International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles.

Census 1851-52, David Johnson said to be born in Montreal (this is yet did David Johnson married to Virginia Brousseau, with the same first children already identified until 1851). Census 1861, it claims to be born in the USA (I thought of New England or came through a port of New England). Only the following censuses (1871, 1881, 1891) that claims to be born in England. Two documents speak of the Johnson family as having an ethnic Irish (via Keinan).
Meanwhile, the most plausible hypothesis that I remember is he was born in Montreal in 1822 and not in England and his father, Thomas Johnson, was born around 1784 in Norwich, Norfolk, UK and his mother, Mary Ann Johnson (Kenyon), was born circa 1785 in Ireland. They were married around 1805 (perhaps at Drumcree, Armagh), then they have emigrated from Ireland or England (Norwich or London). They are probably established in 1809 to Montreal with their two children to hold a goldsmith shop on the Rue Notre-Dame (St. Mary), west of McGill. They had six other children in Montreal, including the youngest, David, in 1822. That, to 1847, they returned to England finish their day in Norwich (or London). They died between 1853 and 1860 if they returned to Norwich. (Main source of my hypothesis: (film of) documents held in the collection of the Library and Archives Canada [formerly the National Archives of Canada] [Ottawa]: reel C-718).
Sources:
- Person: Census of Canada East and West, NB and the NE in 1851 (1852).
As a hobby I rescue old picture albums, diaries and Bibles and attempt to return them to descendants. I found in Washington State an old, well used album with many nice pictures that appear to be connected to the Johnson, Sophy and Hynes families. The album cover is completely off, but on the inside front page is written, "Presented to the handsomest lady of Garretson S. D. by the Kickapo Indian ??? can't read this last small word.

Pictures include: Hazel Johnson cousin; Aunt Kate; Aunt Helen; Arabian Prince; Minnie; Louise; Carrie Hausman 1st cousin & Loretta 1889; Lou's baby - Marguerite Gladiola Hynes aged 4 months Feb 10-'91 to her Dear Aunt Annie - this picture was taken in Colorado; Aunt Mabel or Loretta; Aunt Annie Sophy; Richard Hynes; & Fred Gilbert, Louise's nephew. Please contact me at sug53@earthlink.net if you would like more info. Sincerely, Sue

Daughters of Lewellyn & Eva Johnson

I'm searching for the daughters or the decendants of the daughters of Lewellyn and Eva Johnson of Ostrander, Ohio. Lewellyn and Eva died on June 3,1913 leaving six children behind. Five girls and a boy, since the boy is my father I know how to came be in Missouri. I know very little about the five girls. Some ended up in foster homes, some were adopted by families in Ohio. Chances are the girls would have been given the adoptive parents names while others may have married taking on new names other than Johnson, thus making it very difficult to trace them. The girls names and DOB are Cora 1897, Marie 1900, Florence 1902, Inez 1905 and Sylvia 1907. I would appreciate any leads anyone might have concerning this family.
Thank You
Commodore Perry Johnson's siblings?

I found this on GenCircles:
David Walter Johnson
Birth: 1796 in Bath County, KY
Death: 1877 in Polk County, IA
Sex: M
Father:
Mother:

Burial: Powers-Warren Cemetery , Adelphi, Polk, Iowa

Spouses & Children

Hester Warren (Wife) b. 1800 in Bath County, KY

Marriage: 25 DEC 1817 in Bath County, KY
Children:
James Johnson
John Johnson
Lydia Johnson
Mary E. Johnson b. 2 Jul 1823 in Indiana or Virginia
David Walter Johnson Jr b. 12 Jan 1827 in Montgomery County, IN
Nancy Johnson b. 24 Dec 1828 in Montgomery County, IN
Commodore Perry Johnson b. 1831 in Montgomery County, Indiana
Amanda Johnson b. 1833 in Montgomery County, IN
Noble Johnson b. 21 Aug 1839 in Crawfordsville, IN
I am interested in his brother - John. Since their parents were married in 1817, it is likely that John was born 1820-21. If this is correct, he could be the ancestor I have been looking for. My John was born in Ky (co unknown). Married Almena (various spellings) Elliott in Morgan Co, Ky 2 Apr 1840. Here is the interesting part; John named one son - Perry and one son - James. They had several more children but if this is the family I search for, young Perry is my line. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for some information on Sabina Longhorn. I believe she was born in England around 1790. She was married to Richard Johnson, who died in Swinehead, ENG in 1839. She and Richard were the parents of 8 children born between approximately 1820 and 1840 in England: Elizabeth, George, Susan, John, Ann, Samuel, Richard Longhorn, and Joseph.

thanks - Barbara

I am researching my grandfather Reginald Johnson's family.
He was born on 13/4/1906 and died in September 1979.

His father was Henry Johnson born 5/6/1865 and died 21/2/1893 and his mother was Elizabeth Cooper born about 1869 died 13/12/1953.

Henry's father was James Snape Johnson and mother Isabella Maskew.

Henry and Elizabeth had nine children - one unnamed infant, Annie Eliza, Frederick Torie, Frank, Norman, Harold, Reginald, Colin and Maud.

My grandfather Reginald married Annie Vaughan on 2/3/1935 and they had one daughter Ann who had four daughters including me Jennifer Gough (nee Johnson).

The family came from Stoke on Trent Staffs.

I would be grateful to hear anything at all about this family. I knew that Reginald came from a big family but I never knew anything about them.
