Hi,,

Joel Jones, Jr. Father was Joel Jones, Sr. bn July 7, 1764 in Charlton, Worcester Co., MA. He married Amplias Wadsworth, then Prudence Lincoln. My 4th Great Grandfather Nathaniel Jones who married Lovina Tryon was his half brother.

Joel Jones, Jr. who married Sarah Smith is on the 1850 Census in IL, LaSalle Co., Freedom Twp. Joel Jones, Jr. was bn I believe April 8, 1796, West Haven, Windsor Co. VT.

He had abt. 11 children, all born in PA probably in Crawford County.

Vasa Bozarris Sept 14, 1824

Sasrassa Marilla 1825 (Died Aft. 1850)--Not sure, if these two are the same but there is a Pasey B. Jones listed on the census as being born 1825. Sasrassa is not listed on the 1850 census

Heppy Juletta Feb 21, 1828 (not on the 1850 census)

Sarah Ermina 1830 (Sarah or Lucetta was bn on March 23) (Died Aft. 1850)

Lucetta Marcella 1832 (Died Aft. 1850)

Luther Alvara March 15, 1836 (Died Aft. 1850)

Joel Adna March 15, 1836- (Died Aft. 1850)

Asael Wadsworth June 4, 1838-1912

The two I see that you don't have are Ester Jones, bn 1827 PA and Nancy J. Jones bn 1849/50 in PA. There is a man living with them named James W. Brown, age 25 bn PA.

Hope this helps!

Terry

My email is now: Baconanatomy@cs.com.

Last year I took a picture of Grandfather Nathaniel's gravestone in Falmouth, ME, 1745. I think it is a replacement, but his wife's stone may be original. She was his second wife, the second Mary. Jabez and Moses (by 2nd wife) are also there.

If you like, I'll email it to you. It is an interesting stone.

Hi Nancy,

I don't know if I've talked to you before, but I have alot of misc. on this Jones line. Your line goes thru Joel Jones, Jr., son of Joel Jones and Sarah Smith. I am also a descendant of Nathaniel Jones and Hannah King. Your Joel' s father was Enos Jones and Amplias Wadsworth. At first, I believed that my GGGG Grandfather Nathaniel Jones, son of Enos Jones was a half brother to Joel believing that his mother was Prudence Lincoln, but the date of Amplias death would make him a son of Enos and Amplias, although most researchers don't show this. I believe that Nathaniel was just a young boy when Amplias died and Enos remarried Prudence and from that point on every one assumed that Nathaniel was the son of Enos and Prudence. Anyway, I have alot of misc. on your family also, they were all in Crawford Co., PA and many of them moved to IL after 1840. Let me know if your interested.

Regards,

Terry

Hi,

I am related to Nathaniel Jones, Sr. brother to Joel Jones, Sr.

I just recently found this information on your Great Great Grandmother Sarah Smith Jones:

----------------

April 29, 1875

Taken From the Henry Republican

Died in this city, April 23, of old age and dropsical tendency, Mrs. Sarah, aged 78 years 7 months and 4 days, consort of the late Joel Jones.

Mrs. Sarah Jones, consort of Father Joel Jones, who died about four years ago, was buried from the old homestead on Deacon Hill on Friday afternoon of last week. She was 78 years old and had been feeble for some time. Since the death of Mr. Jones, she had kept house for her son Adna, the only unmarried one of her children. She was born in Massachusetts, but had been a resident of Illinois since 1846, and of Henry since 1857. She had eight children, six of whom are living, the oldest, Vasa, living in Ohio, an M. E. minister; Sarah, wife of Morris Huffman, next, residing at Chatsworth; Mrs. Lucetta Durham, living in Hardin county, Iowa; Luther, at Lake City, Minn.; Adna, in this city, and Asael at Fort Dodge, Iowa. The remains were interred in the new cemetery, besides that of Father Jones, Rev. P. A. Crist conducted the services at the house.

Just wanted to pass this along to you.

Terry

Terry,

I have corresponded with you in the distant past, but my memory is so bad that the things I read now are like new to me. Anyhow, I want to visit the graves. Can you tell me where they are buried?

I may have written to you before, but I don't remember. Vasa was my gr grandfather. He went to WV, had a newspaper in Wyoming County and died there. His son, M.L., started the Coal Valley News in Boone County, which is still in existence, though no longer in the family after Luther,
Vasa's grandson, died.

My father was Virgil, but I was raised by Luther.
