Stella, It does not look to me that this is the James Jones who married Sarah Ellen Ravenscroft. Do you agree? Do you have an idea if these two are connected in some way?

I may have written to you before, but I don't remember. Vasa was my gr grandfather. He went to WV, had a newspaper in Wyoming County and died there. His son, M.L., started the Coal Valley News in Boone County, which is still in existence, though no longer in the family after Luther,
Vasa's grandson, died.

My father was Virgil, but I was raised by Luther.

I have also been documenting the trek of James T Jones to find out Sarah Jones and Nancy Jones biological mother. I have been able to add some more pictures to my tree. You might be interested in. Contact me through Donna Hawthorn's family tree. I also have a couple that Aunt Ed got for my Aunt Jean that have no identification. Might be an idea if you added some approximate dates and locations. I see a Nettie P Jones birth registered Wolverhampton March 1937 in FreeBMD could this be your gran,in which case her mother's maiden name would be Thurston-See.

I have the Cyrus S. Jones born 24 Dec 1880 in Claiborne Co., TN as the son of James Jones & Martha A. Pennington. I only have Lily McHargue listed as his wife. But then I have not thoroughly researched this particular Cyrus.

I have not acquired the certificate for Ida Bolton marr. Cy Jones 4/1/06 - so I can not speak for who was named as parents on that one.

Martha Whitaker married the Cyrus Jones who was born in 1873 in Laurel Co., KY. They married 22 Jan 1903 and then Martha died shortly thereafter.

My ancestor was Asa Iley Jones, b 1849 in NC. Asa was in AL by 1872 and then in MS by 1890. I don't know any of his siblings but looking at the name Iley, and how it could have been changed from Wiley.

I'm looking for any further information about Ralph Jones, born about 1924/1925, who married Cassie Mae Buchanan on 2 Feb 1947 in Forrest Co., MS. Also looking for information about their daughter Cathy. Ralph's father is listed in the marriage license application as Clarence Jones. In the 1930 census for Lincoln, Clark Co., MO, I find a Clarence Jones, age 30, wife Susie, and children Ralph (age 5), Frank L. (age 3), and Ola Jean (age 1), all born in MO. Clarence Jones was a trucker for Farmer Oil Co. Could this be the Jones family whose son Ralph married Cassie Buchanan? Cassie and Ralph were later divorced. Cassie died in 1984. I have no further information about their daughter Cathy, but would like to get in touch with her or with someone who knows her. Many thanks for your help.

I "see" 12 Family Trees that state her parents to be John JONES & Mary BRITTEN / BRITTON. But when I research separately from Family Trees online for children of that pair, most posters do not show a 1780 "Betsy". This is the "Betsy" that married 1801 Philip KUTER. I seek replies from any researchers who have not just copied from the 'net those parents mentioned above. I hate to see misdiagnosed genealogies posted, don't you, too? I've been exploring the family of James Wynne JONES as I read Your Guide to Cemetery Research. While I haven't yet found a bible or a bible transcription, I may indeed have found a bible that was owned by a relative of James Wynne JONES:

JONES Family; Holy Bible; 830 pp.; printed 1824 by E. Gardner, London, England; entirely in Welsh; was the personal Bible of Lewis Jones (no family data); found in Cincinnati, Ohio on 30 Dec 1995. {Returned to family}

Thanks to www.fordnagle.com for their work in reuniting records to their owners or I would never have seen this reference.

If you have additional information about this family of Welsh immigrants to Cincinnati in the mid-1850s, I'd love to hear from you. The JONES family is a collateral line but I've been intrigued by their monument at Spring Grove Cemetery. My 2nd great-grandaunt, Mary Elizabeth MOREHOUSE married James Wynne JONES.

BACKGROUND: James Wynne JONES(1834-1892) m1) Mary Elizabeth MOREHOUSE (1838-1863) on 7 Jan 1857 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. He m2) Catherine E. ERRICKSON (1845-1893) probably in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mary Elizabeth (MOREHOUSE) JONES died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. James Wynne JONES and his second wife both died in Yonkers, Westchester, New York.
Children by his wife Mary Elizabeth:
Lillie (1859-1860)
Mary West (1860-1885). She married Kiernan.
Carrie W. (1860- )
Luella B. (1862- )
Children by his wife Catherine:
Eldridge (1865- )
Clarence W. (1967- )

James Wynne Jones' brother was probably John R. Jones (1831-1861). John's parents where John and Jane Jones.

Hi,
umm I'm 19 and currently live in Australia and my last name is Townley-Jones. My grand dad's name is Ken (Kenneth) although he served in the British Army during WW2 and was an officer, not sure what rank. But I know that from what I've heard at my grandparents house that there was a naval background somewhere and he has the family's coat of arms which has two greyhounds on it if I remember correctly.
So far on this side of the family most of us are in one of the forces and or artistically inclined in some form or another, and also very sporty. :-)

Am looking for the family of Robert Wiley Jones born 1838. He would be my GGG-grandfather through his daughter Laura Lee Jones. Would love to find out who his parents were. Online records show he might have been born in Georgia. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
