MYSTERY!! looking for Juan D Juarez and Candelaria Juarez

I am having trouble solving the mystery of Candelaria's maiden name. Was it Juarez?

Her son, Benjamin was living with his uncle Juan D Juarez in 1920 in Santa Barbara. Candelaria might have been Juan's sister. Candelaria was born in 1866; Juan was born in 1858. Both born in California supposedly.

Candelaria and Juan might have been siblings adopted by Maria J Cota (Or was Maria J Cota Maria Juarez Cota??).

1870 census: Juan Juarez was listed as "Juan De B Juarez" living with Maria Cota as mother, with no adult male in household. Other children listed in this household were Mary J Cota (age 9) and Maria M. Linarez (age 19). I wonder if Mary J Cota is Candelaria Cota (except the age would be off by 5 yrs).

1880 census: Candelaria Cota and Juan Cota with Maria Cota as mother and A.V. Soloman as father, Hopes, Santa Barbara. I'm guessing this is the same Maria Cota as mother.

Did Candelaria Juarez change her name to Candelaria Cota due to adoption? Or were they somehow related? How were the Cotas related to Juarez? Was Candelaria Cota actually Mary Juarez?

The death record (1966) of Candelaria's son, Lucas Anthony Martinez, shows Candelaria's maiden name to be Valenzuela.
However, it is known that Candelaria was married at least 3 times (She married Simon Berthold around 1898, after her 5 children (with surname Martinez) were born. She might have been married to Martinez and Valenzuela before that, so perhaps her maiden name was not known to her son.

Candelaria's other son, Benjamin Martinez, was shown to be living with Juan Juarez in 1920. This was the household of Antonio Cota.

I do not know how the Cotas are related to Juarez.

If any of this sounds familiar, please contact let me know! I hope you can make sense of my thought process.
I am excited to find you, your Dad was one of our favorite relatives My Dad took us all over Tx to visit. Some were not so much fun. I have lived in El Paso, for the last 20 yrs. But will be on the road for the next couple days. As soon as I light somewhere will try to call. You did find Jesus's family in Dallas? They have a lot of info. I have been doing a tree for a long time but focused on my mom's family until the Dallas bunch caught me up. My uncle B.G. (balentine) and Tony are still in Alvin, the rest except my aunt Susana are all gone. When did your dad pass? Talk to you soon.
carmen

It all began when i asked my dad about his brothers and sister, he told me that his father had one wife and many lovers in many different places in Mexico, after the death of his wife he began to go insane and isolated himself from everyone, until his death that no one can remember. as a child i remember that i was told that he was a very mean man even though i never had the chance to meet him. we dont have much information just that he lived in Sinaloa Mexico the last few years of his life. in a small ranch called El Dies(The Tenth). if you think you are familiar or know bout anything let me know and ill ask more info from Mariano.

As for family history, Jesus Juarez from Mexico & Susana Gamboa had 13 or 14 children. Jesus' father is Juan Angel Juarez also from Mexico. Susana Gamboa's parents are Inocencio Gamboa-Mexico & Antonia Car-Mexico. I am still searching for birth dates & marriage dates for Jesus Juarez and Juan Angel Juarez. If you have additional information on these two - please post.

How is Tia Katie related to you? So Refugio "Ruth" Juarez Garcia is my grandmother- Refugio Plumeda Juarez was her mother or my great-grandmother. I asked my nana about her mother and her siblings and she said she only remembers her mother talking about an older brother Nicanor. However, Nana's memory is not what is used to be so it would not surprise me at all if Refugio senior had more children. Do you have an e-mail I can send you more info? I found most of Refugio Plumeda Juarez and Feliciano Juarez' children- birth certificates and some death certificates. I'm curious what info you have- you mentioned other potential siblings. Where/how did you find this info? I am VERY interested in this so I would love to share info.

I don't know a Nicanor, but I'm in contact with Katie's son who will get more info from his dad then I can hopefully pass it on to you.
Hello, I live in Glendale AZ. My great-grandmother is Francisca Plumeda Nunez who is sister to Refugio Plumeda Juarez. Just last night I was up late looking at actual birth certificates online of the children of Francisca, Refugio, Jesus, and Jovita. It was so very interesting. I wonder if I could have the names/birthdates of Refugio's parents. Is it true that Refugio's parents had blue eyes and blonde hair and came from Spain?
