Have you any information on Edward O(Oscar) Randell. All I know is that he's "from Boston" and died in 1905. He's supposedly buried in Lafayette Cemetary #1 but there are no Randell's there. (lots of Randalls)

I'm related to those I mentioned in my reply and realize I may not be related to the one you are looking for. You said that the ones you were looking for could be "near Nussdorf". My point is that probably relations (based upon coincidence of names) are in Nussdorf. If you haven't already, you should go through microfilms# 193085, 193086, 193087 in the LDS library (church records of Nussdorf). I'm tied-in through my Uebel family which lived in Nussdorf.

I have been looking for information on Johannes Jung, born in 1746 in Germany. He was married to Catharina Frankin, also born in Germany. They moved to Viborg, Denmark sometime before 1802. I am wondering if they were of the group of potato farmers that were invited to come to Denmark. They had a daughter named Ane Maria Barbara born in Denmark between 1800 and 1802. Is there any information on these people in your records? They may have been Jewish. Thank you.

Hi Mariano, it's me again. I phoned my mother-in-law and got some information.
Yes, the information about Valentin Jung, his wife and parents is correct. Valentin Jung was quite active in the city politcs and later founded a bank (Volksbank - banca popularia?) in Wandsbek (which is a quarter in Hamburg).
Valentin Jung had a daughter, Martha. My mother- in -law supposes that you are a descendent of his son. Was there a son? If so, what do you know about him?
Anyhow, his daughter Martha Jung married a Swedish man by the name of Axel Fredrich Haagström. These are my mother-in-law's grandparents from the side of her mother. Martha Jung and Axel Haagström had a daughter whose name was Ingeborg Haagström (who was the mother of my mother-in-law).
We have a picture of Valentin Jung and also of Axel Haagström and of course of Ingeborg Haggström. So VAlentin Jung is my husband's greatgreatgrandfather. How are you related to him??
Also, this might interest you. My mother-in-law said she remembers a lady whom she called "Aunt Agnes" who when she was a child came from Buenos Aires to Hamburg every few years to visit. She remembers that Aunt Agnes visited a lady whom my mother-in-law called "Aunt Maus". S
This Aunt Maus was the wife of a Professor Dr. Dr. Sköllin.
Are you related to Anges or "Aunt Maus"? If so, who are they for you?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. If you want us to send pictures, could you give us an e-mail address?
Greetings,
Susanne

Hallo Mariano, now it's my turn to say sorry for the delay. We were on a trip and I just now found your e-mail.
The names you posted are exactly the names which my mother-in-law mentioned (e.g. Emma Catharina Jungius as wife of Valentin Jung). You are definately related to my mother-in-law and my husband. I already told her about you and she pointed out which "branch" of the family you must belong to. However, I do not remeber what exactly she said. She is 91 years old and not in very good health.
Would it be possible for you to give me an e-mail address that I could write to? I'll tell you all my mother-in-law will tell me the next time I talk to her.
Take care,
Susanne

Hi Susanne,
thanks for the reply and sorry for my delay.
I'll paste what I have from Valentin Jung now (which is a lot more than what I had when I first posted this message):

Valentin Jung, b. 9.XI.1827 in Mainz, b. catholic, Posamentier. He emigrated to Wandsbek and in 1877 he lived in Kurzereihe 4255. He married Emma Catharina Jungstin (or Jungius) on 2.VIII.1857 in Wandsbek. He was the son of Johann Jacob Jung and Catharina Jockel.

Many of this info I took it from "Genealogie in Stormarn / Schleswig-Holstein”, of Peter Doerling: http://www.peter-doerling.de/

There I found:
Jung Valentin * 09.11.1827 vh. 02.08. 1857 Wandsb. Wandsbek / Posamentier u. Bandwirker geb. in Mainz (röm. kathol.) Eltern: weil. Dachdecker Johann Jacob Jung u. weil. Catharina geb. Jockel Jungius Emma Catharina * 08.03.1830 vh. 02.08. 1857 Wandsb. geb. in Wandsbek Eltern: weil. Johann Gottfried Jungius u. Anna Dorothea geb. Behrmann. Quelle : Ortsfamilienbuch Wandsbek (Manuskript), Brüggemann / Siegert / Dörling, 1940 / 1980 / 1990”

Is there any of this info that is related to your husband's Valentin Jung? I'm always interested in my roots, so if you think it's the same person I'd like to know.
Thanks again!
greetings
Mariano

Hello. I am excited to say that I have information on that family. Nick Jung did marry an Elsie Maki and had one daughter. My mother-in-law is a Fischer who falls within the Josef Fischer line (that would be Katherina's brother)and she and her 1st cousin made a Fischer 100 years genealogy book and had a HUGE Fischer family reunion about 6 years ago. I have been looking at your family tree on this family and I have some additional information that you would like to have (I'm sure). Let me know how to contact you and I would be happy to correspond.

I, too, am looking for Youngs in Buffalo, NY.
I'm trying to find information on Jacob Young and Catherine Unfug. They possibly married immediately before leaving Germany or Alsasce area, on the boat, or immediately upon arriving. Possible time of arrival in US is 1891-ish. They settled in Buffalo, NY, and appear on census's there. Children include Fred Young (married C. Bruckman), Theodore, Louis, Jacob, and William.

I have no information on either Jacob or Catherine's parents or family. It's pretty certain that his last name must have been Jung at some point, as he came from either Germany or Alsasce Lorraine area.
